Nothing I will post will compromise the current negotiations but again the hope is to help fans understand a little bit more.
So we all know that Vincent Tan is willing to invest £100 million into our football club, fantastic news I am sure we would all agree.
Vincent Tan is the primary reason that Cardiff Blues and Cardiff City Football Club could come to an agreement that would release the Blues from their remaining 16 year tenancy agreement with us, Vincent Tan wants us to be able to celebrate our history by decorating our stadium with memorabilia from the good days gone by, with the Blues involved that was simply not possible.
We will see pictures and not 4' x 2' size prints but huge floor to ceiling images of iconic images of City's achievements of past seasons decorate the walls of the bar areas and other parts of the stadium to constantly remind us of days we cherish, this was Vincent Tan's idea. Who will decide on what images and how the stadium walls will be decorated? It will be us the fans, again Vincent Tan idea.
The stadium expansion plan is to put 8,000 extra seats in the Ninian stand with the creation of a second tier of seats, the reason is simple, we are on average filling nearly 90% of our stadium capacity and this is in the Championship, Vincent Tan wants this club ready for Premier League football at the earliest possible time, the money that it would cost to expand the stadium would be turned in equity and would not be a debt to the club.
The subject of Langston, it has to be said that both sides are working extremely hard and in a positive manner to settle the Langston debt at a much lower rate than the debt appears on the balance sheet, that takes a generous amount of goodwill on Langston's part and also on the Malaysians part but it will suit us, the club, more than anyone. The money that is being discussed to settle the debt is far less than the figure that has been widely spoken about in the past 5 years, once a full and final contract is signed then that money the Vincent Tan is using from the investment to settle Langston will also be turned into equity.
Because of the sensitive nature of these discussions it would be foolish of me to state the actual figures.
At the present time our club pays to rent the Vale for our training facilities and both us and the Blues pay £250k per year for the pleasure and next season that cost will rise to £270k per year. Vincent Tan wants us to have our own training facilities and ones of which we can be proud, club officials have been to many Premier League club's training pitches and have given their findings to the Malaysians who will deliver the best training ground we could possibly have hoped for on land that is close to our stadium. What cost will this be to our club? No cost, as this money would also be converted into equity.
Then there is the playing budget for Malky, there is a rather sizeable amount earmarked for Malky to use and even this money would be turned into equity.
All the above would leave our club virtually debt free and we would have a stadium and training facilities suitable for the Premier League and hopefully with the right player acquisitions we would have team capable of getting us there.
So there are the positives, not bad are they?
We all have heard and discussed/debated the red/blue change but at the end of day, Vincent Tan believes that that is the way forward for this club, did he mean to upset anyone? I don't believe he did, he was acting on the best interests of this club and he was incredibly excited by his plans.
What puzzles me is when people ask 'How many red shirts does he expect to sell in Malaysia?' Honestly who cares, you may care about the shirt colour but why would any of us care how many they would sell? Think about it, it is human nature to be a bit selfish and the best we can so I want Vincent Tan to pump as much money as possible into this football club and turn it into equity. Is that wrong of me?
Vincent Tan has 350 retail outlets in Asia, it's not a bad start for anyone who wishes to sell a product that he has heavily invested in.
But it is not about shirt sales, it is about commercial opportunity's that Vincent Tan believes he can open us for this club.
Does anyone remember Jian-hua Huang?
He is commonly known as Kenny Huang and he was the name at the forefront of proposed takeover of Liverpool Football Club a few years ago but pulled out. Well Kenny Huang has attended the CCS last season and watched one of our games, Huang is interested and has held talks with Vincent Tan about becoming involved at Cardiff City. Anyone guess what Kenny Huang's preference of colour is?
When dealing with Huang, the club would not be dealing with just one man but a group of his business associates that head up many of China's state owned company's. This is not something that would happen overnight but you can see what type of investor the club are hoping to attract and the amount of backing this club could have in the future if all goes well.
This club could possibly have access to not just millions but billions of pounds to take this club to the very top, so let's hope that everything works out for the best of this club and we do indeed see the type of investment that is being spoken.
TG left today's board meeting in good spirits and returns to Malaysia positive that this is still the right football club to be involved in and he will deliver that message to Vincent Tan, it will probably take a few days before we hear what happens next but in my honest opinion I believe it will news well worth waiting for.

So all the plans you have mentioned, will they deffo be going ahead?
Also, from your gut instinct, what colour can you see us having as our home kit next year?

Liam I am not even going to answer that as it is something that will be decided at board level and any guessing on my part would obviously be wrong.
