CLUB STATEMENT: 15 MAY 2012

Cardiff City Football Club Board members today met with Chairman Dato' Chan Tien Ghee to discuss future plans for the club, along with in-depth talks over the well documented events of the last seven days.

During the meeting, TG relayed views and opinions from the club's Malaysian investors, including those of Tan Sri Vincent Tan, while the UK board members present were also able to convey their thoughts and ideas on the best steps forward for the club.

Having collated all views and supportive documentation, TG will return to Malaysia early on Wednesday morning to outline all proposals, after which the club will be in a position to comment further on the future plans at Cardiff City FC.

Speaking of the meeting and recent events, TG said, "I would like to reiterate the commitment, warmth and great affinity that remains for this club from Tan Sri Vincent Tan and myself. We have nothing but the best interests of the club and its supporters to heart and will look to conclude matters as soon as possible to the best possible outcome. I would also like to personally thank the many who have sent in messages of heartfelt support and appreciation, either directly or via the club."

Please note that there will be no further comment on this matter from board members or management at this time. All at Cardiff City Football Club appreciate the desire and appetite from supporters to learn more, and as such further information will be released at the earliest opportunity.

It reminds me of a scene from a famous film. Tom Hagen flies home immediately after a meeting to relay the news to the boss, saying to his host that the boss likes to hear bad news immediately....

I suppose they could only tell us if something was sorted. Obviously there is a difference of opinion somewhere which could be seen as worrying, but who knows.

I'm thinking this. surely if they were bailing out, it would have been pretty clear and not fluffy. Hopefully still time (and desire) for both sides to turn this around and secure the investment, be it through compromise, or the anti-red fans simply getting on board.

Waiting to leave the country first I see!! Before breaking any news

Re: CARDIFF CITY STATEMENT

If VT had decided to walk away it would have been a very short meeting consisting of TG saying "Afternoon gentlemen, you're fucked".

The fact they have been talking about proposals and that TG has the brief to go back and put proposals to VT to be considered shows no door has been slammed yet and that can surely only be good news?

Following what has been reported I see this as positive. Let's all hope for a very positive outcome.
