" ONE EARLY GOAL AND GAME ON "

Thu May 03, 2012 11:11 pm

If we can get one in the first half hour up there, their arses will be twitching faster than a twitching twitcher in twitch land.
It ain't over yet, and those of us going, are going for a party. ;)

Totally agree mate. An early goal and West Ham will panic. In a way I think it's better we are 2 goals down instead of just 1 goal because some of West Ham players may start thinking the job is already done and get complacent. We are not out of this yet, we had several chances tonight and if we manage to get the first goal Monday, I honestly think we will get them rattled and they'll start to panic, and then who knows what could happen? Come on City! :ayatollah:

If we can keep a clean sheet and get a goal in the first goal in the first 80mins it will be an interesting finish.

very true Gwyn.

Agree - It will not be easy, we may need luck but it's not impossible!

Look at the Leicester playoff game, 20 mins into the 2nd leg they were 2-0 down and it came down to pens, they were even leading 3-2 at one point. (granted not against West Ham)

A lucky own goal, red card or penalty and its on.

Bring it on. There is now more pressure on WHU than there was going into last night. Nobody expects us to do everything, and that suits us.

History suggests it is unlikely we'll go through...........lets blow that theory to fu*k.

There's no fat lady singing yet people! The thing is, it is only half time. We don't need to win the game over the next 90 minutes, a draw will do. Extra time... penalties... anything can happen. These players now can go to Upton without anything to lose. West Ham have everything to lose and so the presure is all on them.

I remember us getting a result against Stoke in the play-off's and thinking we were already in the final. Look what happened then!

Amen Gwyn! If people think Malky's team will go there, lay down and die they're wrong :old:

We're coming guns blazing for an early goal and will sweat blood for the cause :ayatollah:

And one early goal for them and its going to turn into a blood bath Gwyn . Can you really see us scoring 2 goals and not letting a goal in against us ? I can't

I think its called being realistic, don't you think ? ; Where was the last time Cardiff won a game where we scored 2 answered goals against Top opposition ? . It may have escaped your notice that in each of the 3 games we've played West Ham they've complete played us off the park (and we lucked out with the win at the start of the season) You've got more chance of Miller scoring a goal , that us winning on Monday ... You know if had Jay or Chopra in the side , I would have a glimmer of hope, that we could get a early goal and go on the Win, with Miller or Earnie we can just forget that little pipe dream and tbh I'm glad to be working on Monday so I haven't got to watch it

Anway has for this season. I don't rate Malky at all and when you have a joke like Miller in front , what's there to look forward going forward ? . We're going backwards , not forwards..... The Football is shit, its boring to watch , the passing game not there and the end results are all the same ..coming up short in all the big games and no plan B .
I have no faith in Malky playing style , no faith that he will address the Striker situation, the lack of pace on the Wings - after all it was obvious in the last transfer window and Malky yet did nothing

Malky is a poor man's Alex McLeish with just the same dire brand of football to watch (1 up front and no plan B) and hiding behind the work ethic . If he proves me wrong next season you can gladly rub my face in it (and tbh I won't complain) but if he doesn't , don't say I didn't tell you

Sorry but didn't we score 3 goals in 30 minutes against the League champions. It does happen, and can happen..... You can be realistic and positive as well as being realistic and negative?

We went two up against Reading away (wound up winning 2-1) and went 3-0 up against them at home (eventually emerged 3-1 victors). Two wins and 5 goals against the league champions. We also went two goals up at home to Southampton, ultimately defeating them 2-1.

Those were the top two sides.

I don't like to sound clichéd, but the Liverpool game proved that this CCFC side can pull a rabbit out of a hat. As Gwyn said, one goal in the first 20/30 minutes and who knows!

Re: " ONE EARLY GOAL AND GAME ON "

Sorry but didn't we score 3 goals in 30 minutes against the League champions. It does happen, and can happen..... You can be realistic and positive as well as being realistic and negative?

Months back and that was hardly 2 unanswered goals . FWest Ham have completely out played this year and we haven't got much of a chance of winning 2-0 next Monday, though there's always hope

I don't like to sound clichéd, but the Liverpool game proved that this CCFC side can pull a rabbit out of a hat.

Errrrr We lost

We had loads of chances last night and ok millar isn't the greatest but he's doing his best

Oh Bless him . He's a 20k a week striker and can't hit the target , not good enough at the end of the day when you're the highest paid player in the Club and the Clubs main Striker . Fact is we rarely made forced Green in to a meaningful save .
Jay must be wondering what the f**k after all the grief he got , yet still was a more of thread in front of Goal than Kenny ' Inept' Miller

We still had enough to equalise in the last 2 minutes!

You go through the history of the Cups and see Teams give amazing performances well beyond their League position, after all didn't Palace beat the current Premiership Champions that are Man Utd in the Cup ?

Everyone is aware that we are on the ropes now, but stranger things can happen.

I can remember 4th division City being 4-1 down at home to Plymouth of Division 2 and coming back to win 5-4 and beleive me and the 2500 people who were there, there was a much bigger difference in quality between those 2 sides and the 2 that played last night.

We MIGHT get hammerred, but that really doesn't matter 1 bit. If we've still got a 1 in 100 chance then there is still hope.

An early goal (and we came close many times last night) and its game on again. :ayatollah:

Hey I was in Peterborough happily texting my mates at half Time saying this could be a double figure score at the end of the match for Cardiff and yet Peterborough came back from 4 goals down , so I know it can happen (that btw was one of the worst trips home ever) I just have zero faith in the likes of Miller, Earnie to deliver the goals needed and I bet West Ham were mark key players like Whitt's of the park and just fear they'll get an early goal and it end in a Bloodbath on the Pitch

If Miller does it and we do win , Rub my face it in quote all my posts back to me and I really won't care. It be faith enough and think to my self its a price worth paying , its just sad to say that I rather be in work , than watch Cardiff on Monday

What worse building your hopes up -only for them to be crushed , or to have no hopes at all ?. I really don't know which is the worst .

All I know is I'm getting quite sick of non Cardiff City mates in work , in general and in the Pub going on about what happing to Cardiff and saying you're going to bottle it again . Then I keep on thinking this is our year and our moment only for it to be crushed year after year ... So I'll be happy to be in work on Monday and if we do it brilliant , if we don't then at least I have work to take my mind of it for a few hours and think what could have been ..

Its a defensive posture.
If we lose then you have the satisfactin of telling us 'I told you so'. If we win then you won't mind being wrong.

I can't do that as I'd have no satisfaction in the 'I told you so', because I would feel I'm not being true to myself.

As for your workmates - feck em. If they are plastics they will never know the joy that we get from seeing OUR OWN team win games. They are only making themselves feel better about themsleves by linking their personalities to someone else's success hundreds of miles away. Weak sad characters. if they are that pathetic that they need to feel better about themselves by licking the arses of Cockneys and Northerners then let them have their fun, safe in the knowledge that however shit your team might be at least they are yours.
