A forum for all things Cardiff City

Fighting today at Palace, very sad to see Cardiff City fans fighting each other.
Our forum buses had a good drink 5 mins from the ground, no trouble, everyone happy, as we made our way to the ground, horses and police were every where on the pavements and surrounding groups of Cardiff fans, there were a couple of Cardiff fans covered in blood, pub closed up. As we passed we asked what had happened and were told there had been vicious fighting between our own fans
Does anyone know why ?

why we fighting eachother ? you would not have seen that in the height of the 80's Cardiff fans earnt their reputation for sticking by eachother have we changed for the better or the worse? lets not fight eachother its hard enough trying to fight for our club to strive to get better.

THIS IS SHOCKING
Bad enough having to deal with the police, stewards and opposing mouthy tough guy idiots when going away. Now this?
have sadly seen plenty of name calling, threats and sniping amongst City fans on both message boards over the years, something I distance myself from, just a thought but maybe it has spilled over to the real world! Am struggling to find a any other reason why, I mean I have got so drunk at City games over the years I can't remember the game!

But have never felt the urge to gob off or have a ruck with a fellow Bluebird, we are all brothers in my eyes.

Yeh seemed to be a bit of fighting I think in the pub we were in, police definitely came out of nowhere rushing into the place. And some boys doing pointless stuff like throwing plastic pint glasses at passing cars on the walk to the ground. But anyway it was a class day.

Drink and stupid people is a toxic mix.

You would have seen it all the time in the 70s though.

Sadly Yes it did happen in the 70's a lot, but when our support became shit, but very loyal in the 80's and 90's, our fans were as one.

It almost seems whenever we take more than 1500 a handful have to act like tw@ts. Probably too pissed to even remember what they have done.
We never have any problems when there are only a few hundred of us.
The good news is there were about 3000 of us up there who enjoyed a fantastic perfomance in peace and backed our side from start to finish.

It was dreadful in the 70s specially the early years. Then entrance to the Grange End was more like a scene from Beirut.

I didn't see any trouble myself but heard that some of our fans had caused trouble getting off the bus and pissing in people's Gardens ECT and that let to the Police to confiscate all the drink off the buses and when that news filter through, you could see the tension building in the pubs . Saw so many youngsters and just wonder if they were playing up and fighting them self's
I also think the Police handling of getting us out of the Place was an utter disgrace , why didn't they use Police bikes to escort the Buses out rather that the meat wagons ?

i seen the fight in that pub. it involved about 10-15 boys. the police came in and chucked us all out and closed the pub.
