Home and Dry?

Tue Apr 17, 2012 10:56 pm

Even if we lose our remaining 2 games then as long as Middlesbrough don't beat Southampton then we guaranteed to finish in the playoffs. No other team can catch us due to goal diff.

Now is not the time to take our foot off the pedal. I want us to finish 4th so the second leg will be at CCS!!!

The goal difference can change very easily as we well know from previous years.

Let's win Saturday and confirm it ourselves

Not in this case though because the only 2 teams that can mathematically catch us are Middlesbrough who are 11 goals behind us and Hull who are 9 behind us and thats assuming we don't score another goal in our 2 remaining matches.

An both of those 2 have to play Saints if i'm correct? Who will be going hell for leather to get the auto's.

Like I said in another post, IMO all we need is 1 point :ayatollah:

Well we would have to lose both games anyway so us losing by the minimum and hull winning by the minimum takes it down from 9 to 5 instantly which isn't impossible.

With Hull having to play West Ham and Middlesbrough having to play Southhampton your scenario although not totally impossible is highly unlikely.

home and dry we are not!!!!!!!

Leeds will have 3000 traveling fans who will expect nothing less that a performance and would to f**k up our season (like we did all those years ago)
then all of a sudden we could be needing a result at Palace, and I dont remember us fairing to well there in recent years.

I will never forget how I felt sat in the stand in pure disbelief watching us lose 6-0

dont count chickens because one could be a double yolk

It doesn't really matter if we score, if we lost the minimum effect on goal difference is minus 1

It improbable they will change it but then who expected losing 6-1 or whatever it was to Preston and us losing out on the play/offs by one goal.

Surely a double yolk would mean we have twice as much . I think you meant to say not to get left with egg on your face.

When the points are in the bag or boro lose, then and only then we can think about the playoffs, we have been here before.

dear me , have you learned nothing from the last few seasons theres still plenty of time to do a "cardiff" if you don't cardiff it now you will cardiff it in the playoffs , think you might do it this year though all jokes aside :(

Re: Home and Dry?

Wed Apr 18, 2012 8:32 am

I don't really care how many points we need to bag the playoffs, I don't even care who the other teams have to play. Even more so, I don't care about the opposition goal difference.

Playoffs are all about momentum and we need to win both of our last matches to retain that momentum.

When Blackpool got promotion into the Championship (via the Playoffs) they won 7 out of their last 7 games. Then when they got promotion to the Premiership, they won 8 and drew 1 of their last 10 games.

They also won home and away legs of their semi finals (and obviously won the final).

If we win both of our last 2 matches, that would be 10 games undefeated, including 5 wins from the last 6, drawing 1. We've kept 3 clean sheets in the last 4, which could easily turn into 5 clean sheets in 6 games if we do the job properly....

Promotion Form is necessary imo and 2 wins will give us that momentum.

I can only assume that the bad grammar in your note is down to the fact that that you are either foreign, pissed when you wrote the note or a Jack trying to make trouble. Then again you could be all three.
