If I was a Cardiff fan...

Wed Apr 11, 2012 10:25 am

Just had a proper look at the Championship table for the first time in a while (I knew you were 6th, I mean a proper look), and personally I would be absolutely buzzing. Yes, the results have gone your way lately, in fact, the strangest sets of results I've seen in a long time, but that's not your problem, that's everyone else's issue.

1. Only Southampton and West Ham have lost less games than you, that's not bad for a start. True, you have drawn more games than anyone else but surely that's better than losing? There is a touch of our season under Sousa with that, except you do know how to score goals and we didn't with that arsehole in charge.

2. You are in 6th place, face facts, when it comes to the play offs there is sod all difference between 3rd place and 6th place, it's a lottery and if you are in there, then you have a chance. As things stand, West Ham and Birmingham would be under the most pressure in the play offs, that would play into your hands for a start, as for Blackpool, at least most of the players who were at Cardiff when they beat you have moved on, for those who are still there, all the extra incentive for them.

3. You reached the Carling Cup final, hell of an achievement!

The footballing gods have smiled on you recently, while from what I read on here, you haven't been in the best of form so for you to be in 6th place, surely you have to be happy with that? Speaking of not being in the best of form, surely the fact that you are in 6th place means that everyone else has been off form too?

Finally, because it usually gets asked, "Why are the Jacks on our message board?" The reason I signed up was to answer a thread about Swansea at some point last season, that was the only reason for me signing up but since then, I've had a few decent conversations on here and I quite enjoy this board. Look back and I'll usually stay on topic and contribute. On that note though, I'm going to leave you lot to it for the rest of the season.

We will be waiting for you in the Premier League. Over to your lads :thumbright:

That's what I've been saying myself. Blackpool finished 6th two years ago and they went up, so it can be done.

Hi Scotsjack , good post mate. Nice to hear from people like yourself. You're doing well , wish we were doing better , but nice to know there are proper supporters at our clubs (I really must learn to ignore the others)

i am with you 100%
I think a lot of the old school fans are, just the ones that joined the band waggon from 2003 onwards that like to have a moan the second we dont win.
been a great season for us, Carling Cup Final will be a memory that will last forever, we were winners in my mind, had loads of texts from supporters of other clubs who said how well we played and should be proud.
I think 2 wins. 2 draws will get us to the paly offs then who knows.

Stay with us, scotsjack, you do your club proud. Sadly, the same can't be said of a lot of insurgents on here.

You havent had to sit through hours of the most boring football watched in years.

Its worse than watching paint dry.

 Why do ALWAYS HAVE to moan the second we lose to the limit until we win?

Its getting really annoying now. If you hate the way we play then GO and support Swansea then, and dont come back when we get promoted!

Good post, I was thinking about the draws that we have been having and that they were similar to when Sousa was in charge. I'm still very positive that we can make the playoffs. :)

Re: If I was a Cardiff fan...

Good post i think Malky has made us solid and difficult to beat but there's not enough flair, pace or goals in the side having said that we have got to and nearly won the Carling Cup Final and are in the Play Off positions with 4 games to go so whatever happens we've had a good season which could still yet get a whole lot better ;) :ayatollah:

Re: If I was a Cardiff fan...

Oh the irony!!! A decent, well constructed Cardiff City post......written by a Jack!!!!
At last - someone who can see it for what it is.......an average team, full of players who had never meet until the summer, an inexperienced manager, a major cup final appearance, average crowds of 22000 and 6th place with 4 games to go......any normal fan would rip their arm off for what we've got.
Sadly we have an awful lot of doom merchants who think we're Man City or something who leave matches with 10 minutes to go.
In saying that, you have to appreciate our apprehension about another Wembley appearance!!!

Some of the fans dont realise DJ and our players from last season have gone.
They dont realise Leicester City have spent millions and their below us and have better depth than us.
The expectation is still high for some reason when we got a weak squad and a manager whos in his first season expected to work a miracle when we are sitting 6th and got to the Carling Cup Final.
Only a small majority of fans are like that.

There were some great games of football last season down the CCS

Norwich 4-2
Watford 4-2
QPR 2-2
Wurzels 3-2 fightback
Reading 2-2 injury time equaliser
f**k me even the 0-2 to Ipswich it was lime watching the Alamo we must have hit the woodwork 7 times.

Far more enjoyable than this seasons cautious snorefest
