He hadn't done enough for me personally this season, even if his opportunities have been limited. I'm confident in Malkys faith in him tho, keep him here, let him learn, fingers crossed for the lad

When he set up that goal for miller v west ham I thought he was a qualitiy signing!!

I need to see him in a run of games before I can make a decision so I voted the needs time one.

I am suprised at the poll to be honest. Rudy is woeful . His headers go anywhere. He can't shoot and at times looks disinterested. Only young and already injury prone. It's not as though he hasn't, t fully developed, we need a goal machine like Ricky lambert. :ayatollah:

Re: COME ON THEN! THE " RUDY GESTEDE POLL "

He has moments of quality followed by moments of awful awful play. He needs developing and I don't agree he is to old to develop when you consider the role he plays. He will be on minimal wages and I'd keep him for another year to try and force his way to the bench.

he sort of reminds me of Bothroyd

Like the majority of fans I was initially very impressed by Rudy, although he was raw you could see there was potential. However recently I have to say my faith in the guy has almost gone, yes he has been unlucky with injuries but his effort and work ethic is shocking, against West Ham he barely ran (granted he came of injured so may have had a knock before the game started but even still he was shit) and against Millwall in the last 5 mins he looked completely knackered even though he hadn't been on long. Perhaps Rudy is a victim of his early success (comparisons to Bothroyd - let's face it they're not even in the same league!), he's decent in the air but there have been so many times this season when he has come on and we look less likely to score with him on the pitch! I hope I am proven wrong but I just can't see the guy making it at this level unless his effort improves and he avoids being so injury prone!

I think loaning him out would be a good idea. Hopefully next season, we'll have some quality strikers in the team.

i felt earlier in the season rudy should have been loaned out..

only prob is he is 24 this yr and if hes not got it now, he never will ..

big guy who has some potential but i feel his level is going to be league 1.

He is good in the air (better when heading at goal than flicking ball on) and has dynamite in his boots when he hits a shot properly but he is never going to be fit more than 50% of the time. He is a good squad option but can't be relied upon as being only striker in squad who can get to a header which he is at the moment and if we had two strikers like him his injuries would probably move him down the pecking order further. Will need to get more goals and stay fit if I am going to vote for him to stay beyond next season.

hes shit. about time us paying fans told it as it is. simply not good enough

The fact that the "we should get rid cos he is injury prone" has more votes than simply "yes" vote just sums some of you lot up. The lad came in on a trial with no real expectations, for me this season he has been good....a inexperienced lad to play good in the tough, hard league that is the championship is enough for me. He will grow and grow, probably in a different jersey to get away from knob head supporters.

Steve Morison was playing conference football at Rudys age, some strikers develope later, especially the "target man" role. I'm not saying he will make it but I don't think he should be written off just because he isn't a "kid". Still at a age to learn and develop.

What the hell are you talking about? It's a sensible debate about our young striker?

If you think a simple poll is going to effect a professional footballer who's currently a bit part player then you're seriously deluded.

He should be more concerned about his multiple injury problems than what fans debate on a message board.

But its neither a simple pole or a sensible debate judging by the comments. Sometimes city 'fans' should just be ashamed of themselves!!!

The only thing he brings to the team is the absolutely random movements of the ball because of his absolute lack of control and terrible footballing brain.

Ironically that causes quite a bit of trouble to opposition defences because they aren't sure if he's brilliant or awful so they waste their time chasing after him.

If he had a regular run in the team without injuries opposition managers would realise how harmless he is on the ball and tell his players not to bother with him except on set pieces, especially as the majority of his lick ons go into dead space or to the opposition.

When you factor in his inability to play more than ninety minutes a week and the length of time his injuries keep him out of the squad he's just not good enough for us.

I can imagine that in five years or so he may develop into a decent championship player but there's no way that I want us to sit on him for five years on the off chance he's a late bloomer.

The best thing we can do is to sell him to a lower league club with a buyback clause inserted in case he does become any good.

He is just a french Eddie Johnson
Not good enough for this level i'm afraid.

Re: COME ON THEN! THE " RUDY GESTEDE POLL "

My worry about Rudy is the fact that he appears to pick up injuries on a regular basis. It might also be the reason Metz released him at the end of last season.
He has been with Metz since he was sixteen although he has spent most of the time out on loan with League 3 teams.
Last season he returned to Metz, who are a League 2 side in France. His last game for Metz was January 2011 when he scored two goals. He was released at the end of the season. So why did he not play again for the rest of the season? Did Metz think he was injury prone? League 2 in France is way below the standard of the Championship so it probably isn't because he wasn't good enough.

It looks like Malky is going to get rid of the rest of the deadwood at the end of the season, so until we see what happens with transfers next season (and depending what league we are in) we should keep him.

The guy is 23 for god sake if he does not have it now then he never will so people talking as if he's a 19yr old kid playing his 1st season in football need to wake up, he's got a touch like ted bundy and two sand wedges he's wears on his feet for matched, he can not pass, control, hold up or bully anyone he's being marked by. As for heading the ball I've never seen anything like it. One of the worst players I've seen in years.
