The reasons i found it embarrasing is that it undermines Malkay as a manager and did nothing for Kenny Millers confidence.
Ok Earnie did ok when he came on but if we are all realistic he is not on a par with Kenny Miller, and in 3 or 4 games time, Earnie will get the same stick when he does not perform or fails to score to, our fans are so fickle its incredible.
So i will say it again Earnie is not the answer.
Also we cannot all point the finger at Kenny Miller, his work rate and footballing brain is on another level compared to Earnie, ok he has missed a few chances of late admittedly, but he is a goal scorer and that run will end soon and unless we get a striker who has more quality than Kenny then i feel we MUST stick and persevere with him. Last night result and performance was not the fault of Miller.
Our passing at times was appalling and we put ourselves under immense pressure, Whitts, Gunners and Lawrence were to blame on that level, and whats with Marshall persisting on rolling the ball out to Hudson when he cannot pass the ball for shit, these factors need addressing before any blame is put on Miller.
Keep the faith 30 points still to play for, and the team needs our SUPPORT and not criticisms and abuse thrown at them.

Agree with all of this. When people were calling for Earnie, I was calling for Conway as I think he is the one who could brig something different to the team, a bit of pace and directness. I start him with Millar up front on his own on Sunday.
With regards to Millar, he will score soon and his overall game is still good. I really felt for him when he hit the post and it rolled across the line, you could see his anguish!

Obviously Earnie cant play up top on his own, but even with Miller playing that system its not working so why not try something else?
Should at least have Earnie on the bench to try and make an impact.

We werent having Earnshaw on the bench because we had Vuckic and he is a player that is a "jack of all trades" being able to play Centre Defensive/Attacking Midfield, Right Wing, Centre Forward and Striker. With someone that has that kind of versatility then it does seem alot more apparent as to why Earnie was left out in the cold

Sorry fella but the guy is no striker, versatile yes, striker no.
Also, there was one home game, where we had two defenders on the bench and no striker ffs. Ridiculous.

How is asking for Earnie on the bench to give us something different, especially when our main striker is way off the pace, so shocking and astounding??
How does that show a lack of understanding of football?
Question, would you prefer no strikers at all on the bench, or Earnie on the bench?

He can play striker.....how well is another matter![]()
Usually its ok to have 2 defenders, as long as the one is Darcy because he can double up as midfield cover, otherwise it is abit odd.

Its more than odd when a fit striker gets overlooked in favour of 2 defenders!!!
We dont Darcy to double up for midfield when the other two subs are midefielders!!!

IMO the configuration of the midfield is just not right, far to many gaps appearing all over the pitch, the defence have little cover and we are creating next to nothing. Lawrence tried to be the holding player last night and was truly awful, his touch and control would have made Rudy look good.
My concern at the moment is totally with midfield.
If people are totally certain earnie should start (huge no from me)
The problem I see with earnie is he simply cannot play up top on his own, he cant play with Miller.
The obvious partner in terms of style for earnie is Rudy but he isnt really up to it.
Mason could potentially work but I have massive doubts on that.
But either way its going to mean two upfront and more pressure on the back four.

At Brum he always went with 1 gk, 1 defender, 3 attacking players.
Would often bring on the 3 attacking players half time.
used to go up and watch my cousin, even if he werent playing knew he would be on at half time. Reckoned Barry Fry was the best boss ever. Soon got booted out when Trevor Francis was boss.
