bothroyd?

Wed Mar 14, 2012 7:47 am

not in their squad until the end of the season may not see the ego of old as hes dumped out for the bins at the mo.

never thought i would say this about him after last season but why not could make all the difference up front
miller/bothroyd
earnie/bothroyd
mason/bothroyd
it could well work you know.

just saying....

I've been against this all year, but of it happened now after recent performances I'd be chuffed with signing bothroyd!! :ayatollah:

i feel the same

Never want to see him in a City shirt again. The first time he ends up sitting on his useless arse I would end up screaming obsenities at him . better players than him out there

agreed 100% i think miller or earnie would play well off bothroyd

Bothroyd is a class act at this level.

Him and Earnie upfront would do for me.

Re: bothroyd?

I was completely against this until recently. Now I think it makes perfect sense. Jay has been bombed out at QPR and has had to eat some humble pie, which has probably dented his ego and we are now desperate need of a proven target man at this level who can play by himself, or alongside miller, earnie or mason. Bring him back, give him a chance to make amends and finish unfinished business. Surely this is win win? He performs we get in the play offs, he doesnt and we send him back!

I think Bothroyd could make the difference between us finishing mid - table or playoffs. Just :ayatollah: my opinion.

People spend too much time fussing about peoples off field activities and personalities these days.

Im old school. Its what happens on the pitch that counts.

I think Jays "Ego" is overplayed anyway, from what I have heard he was one of the better ones for accomodating to fans. Always keen to sign autogrpahs and pictures with kids, and fans alike.

People dont like the truth to get in the way of a good witchunt though.

Totally agree.

Jay would be a huge signing and would be the second name on the teamsheet after Witts

lol. love how fickle fans are.

this guy was a class act. worth remembering our failure did not ever rest on his shoulders... but our success did at times!

I was gutted when he got injured in the play off final. we lost it the moment that happened

I agree 100%. We should not sacrifice our principles out of desperation.

Miller and Jay up front. Bring Earnie on after 70 minutes for Miller if we aint 6 goals in front,
Big man-Little man worked with Jay and Chops

i wouldnt call singing bothroyd an act of desparation in fact i would say hes probably one of the better forwards availible for loan but thats my opinion and that is yours no problem with that :ayatollah:

To me i am not doubting his skill but what i am saying is he shit on us last season, and maybe just maybe had he given us 100% we might just might have gone up. He disrespected us big time. At least Miller gives a 100% all the time and for that i respect the man. But Bothroyd i am sorry i have no respect at all.

Yes, Jay could be the x factor that can help us gain promotion which we have not got at the moment other than Whittingham we also need a fit Mchphail :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

to all talking about having principles and saying dont want bothroyd back mmmmmmm tevis mean anything? and hes back they reckon next week! so if he can be forgiven whats wrong in jay comeing back we all no he will do buisness just to prove point qpr pick up the tab as he isnt going play this season so may as well let us have him as we desperately need somthing to give us boost or we will falll short do we want end up short because of a principle?

Find me a manager who isnt stubborn? thats the point of being a manager, its your choice and your decisions.

Re: bothroyd?

Wed Mar 14, 2012 10:59 pm

nothing to do with being stubborn

he doesn't fit in with the team and how it is set up

why do fans pine for ex players to come back.....I'm sure they are the same fans who were slating them before they left

Onwards and upwards.... :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

No we didn't. We went 1-0 up and then 2-1 up, then our defence let us down and we lost 3-2. Fast forward to this season and last night and that's right! The defence is STILL letting us down! Sod Bothroyd and his ego, we need to strengthen our defence, we haven't kept a clean sheet this year yet! Has anyone ever thought we might look better going forward IF the midfield know they have a solid, reliable defence behind them? Has anyone ever thought our midfielders might think they have to sacrifice some of their attacking play to concentrate more in helping out our leaky defence? Miller who gets slated for not scoring found himself in the right back position at times last night covering McNaughton! As far as I'm concerned it's quite simple, sort our defence and this will sort our team!

I'd have Jay back in a heartbeat, a class act in my opinion, lets not forgot this is a man who played for England last season, and yes after he played for them he was dreadful and his ego got to him, but who's to say that player can't return and do the business for us again? I'd definitely take him back! :ayatollah:

Re: bothroyd?

He never has done anything in the prem bar warm benches and in reserves what made anyone or even him think he could do it this time...........MONEY all it was about not football because he knows and we all know hes not a prem player years of it and stats prove hes not a prem player but money talks
