" Vuckic To Stay For The Rest Of The Season "

Tue Mar 06, 2012 9:14 am

Good news as I think he is a good player who will do a job for us. Doesn't say if he will be around for the playoffs, should we get there, I think the 93 day maximum loan will be up before the playoff final.

Having him the last 13 games is good news though.

Cardiff City to extend Haris Vuckic loan deal from Newcastle United
Mar 6 2012.
Haris Vuckic will continue at Cardiff City
HARIS Vuckic is sticking with Cardiff City’s chase to qualify for the Championship play-offs.

Slovenian teenager Vuckic is coming to the end of his one month loan spell, but City manager Malky Mackay and Newcastle United’s Alan Pardew have already agreed it will be extended until the end of this season.

The highly-rated Vuckic, 19, is eligible for tomorrow's Championship trip to Brighton and Saturday’s away match against Bristol City at Ashton Gate under his current agreement.

A loan extension will then be confirmed which will mean the 6ft 3ins Vuckic stays in the Bluebirds squad.

He has made four Championship appearances and scored one goal, adapting to the different style of football from the Premier League which gives him less time on the ball.

Slovenian Under-21 international Vuckic, whose older brother Alen plays for Lubljana in their home country, started his career with NK Domzale before signing for Newcastle early in 2009.

He played in four Premier League matches for Newcastle this season.

Looks off the pace to me, always stretching for the ball, maybe he's just adapting to Championship football :?: :?:
Lets hope so have not been impressed so far sorry to say :(

He was one who really did some running against West ham in fairness to him. He always seemed to want to get on the ball and to date that was his best performance in a City shirt. He did not change the course of the game but he gave it a go and was constantly looking for and wanting the ball.

I would like to see him get in some areas around the box and have a go with his left peg.

I agree with that I thought he looked to have loads of energy and as you say for a teenager he never stopped looking for the ball. Also his goal against Peterborough was absolute class, so calm and so precise.

Just give him a run of games and he will be a big player for us.

Totally agree with both posts quoted here! :ayatollah:

i thought when he came on we started to pass the ball more on the floor instead of our long ball all the time tactics so i would definatley give him a run in the team what we got to remember is hes used to having more time on the ball and maybe will take a couple of games to get used to our style of play and the new league. no doubt hes got the quality to be an impact player i think

Been nothing special, so far. Took his goal well, though. If we can get him in the box more, maybe more will come from him. :ayatollah:

Looks very good technically to me. its how to intergrate him into the first XI is the issue.

Think Malky will have to teach him how to tackle though, the same as he's done with Whitts! :)

Agree with that polo. He has ability and a good dig on him. I think he likes playing off the front two, which obviously we don't play at the moment. we need to find a way to fit him in while getting Whitts further up the park.

Yes, agree. Whitts is wasted sitting deep and the obvious move to me is bring Mcphail or Kiss in behind Whitts and Gunar but then where does that leave this kid?

Could chuck Whitts out left?

At least there are plenty of options :ayatollah:

Providing options is the key,I also believe Liam Lawrence will provide much needed fresh legs aswell,
a fit again stephen mcphail will be vital for the run in also

Yeah, that's what I meant

Regarding the strikers, the only way Earnie could get a game at the moment is if he played up front with Gestede in a typical 'target man/poacher' partnership (only been done once this season I believe, against Ipswich). Obviously there's no way he could play up front on his own and it's already been proven that a partnership with Miller wouldn't be particularly fruitful.

No I'm sorry, but how is he pants? He is highly rated by Newcastle and their staff and their fans also seem to think quite highly of him.

Do you understand what technically good means? He has good touch, good control and passes the ball smoothly to his own team mates. Then again I suppose you are a rudy fan and wouldnt understand would understand technique.
