Sky sports breaking news now
It seems the administrators think they won't be able to fulfill the seasons fixtures.
Would be a shame to see them fold as always Like going to Pompey as always a laugh there, feel sorry for there fans too, hope they find a way to save them, good luck pompey

Re: Portsmouth

What would happen about the points from the rest of pompeys games?

Re: Portsmouth

Thu Mar 01, 2012 3:00 pm

the table would look like this at the moment if Pompey could play no more fixtures and their results so far were nulified.....

1. Southampton 32 61
2. Reading 31 57
3. West Ham 30 55
4. Blackpool 31 54
5. Brighton 32 53
6. Middlesboro 31 52
7. Birmingham 31 51
8. Cardiff 30 49
9. Hull 30 48

A lot of the teams have only played Pompey once, we've played them twice. Basically, we need them to stay in business and take as many points as possible off those top teams

The points would be taken off everyone who has taken points off of them so we would lose 4 points

Absolute disaster for us if they cannot complete the season 4 points gone for us. Mind you it will be 6 for West Ham.

Reading lose nothing and Blackppol 1 so it will leave us playing catch up. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Teams near the bottom will be thinking the opposite then,
Because if they fold will only 2 teams go down and 3 come up 2 keep the numbers the same,
Hope it don't come to that and they survive

We would lose the 4 points we have gained against them this season. Brighton haven't gained any points, therefore they wouldn't lose any.

From Facebook

Andy Williams It will be a terrible day for football, Annis, but the Premier League should be looking at themselves for letting the leeches who are now among Pompey's biggest creditors (Gaydamak & the Arab fella) get into the club and be able to take out al this money without probably putting anything like the sums they're owed out. Fit and proper person test? It's a joke

Far as I can see these were secured loans. The £2m parachute payment they were expecting which could have seen them ok will now go straight into the chairman's pocket

Wrong. We'd drop to 7th place one in front of you by one point as we beat them at fratton park.

They've failed to pay the 17m from the original CVA.

£2m would have seen them safe? Really?

It would be a terrible day for football if a club like Pompey went under. Terrible. Can't imagine how their fans must feel. Hope they survive :ayatollah: Play up, Pompey!

Yeah £2m would have seen them safe, that's what I meant

It was the straw that broke the camel's back, it was losing that income that prompted the last statement from Trevor Birch

"Following our discussions with the Premier League and Football League over the past few days, it has emerged that Portsmouth Football Club is unlikely to receive any further parachute payments or other league funding," said Birch in a statement on the club's official website.

"We had previously stated that there was a real danger of the club running out of cash before the end of the season.

"The risk of this happening increases substantially without the money from the football authorities. Unless something significant happens, there is a real possibility that we may not be able to fulfil the season's fixtures.

"One potential issue appears to come from the assignment of £2.2million of parachute payments that was made by the old company to a previous owner. We have instructed lawyers to challenge this, but the process may take time."
