" Proud to be a city fan "

We drew a football game against one one the best teams in England after 120 plus mins and then lost a lottery. Team and club need to be proud of the spirit of the team. We did ourselves proud today.

Spot on Steve.

This is one Bluebird, who sleep sound tonight, in the knowledge that if that's what MM can bring to the table, we have a long season to go! :ayatollah:

Steve in my 39 years of supporting City, that was probably my proudest moment,Its years since I have celebrated goals like I did yesterday, to me in my heart we won the cup. We nearly beat one of the greatest teams in football and in a major final at Wembley,we drew on the day and took them all the way, we gave everything. Our team worth about £4mill, there £145 mill. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Well said. I can honestly say I am not gutted, although disappointed, simply not gutted we lost to a team plying their trade week in week out in the best league in the world with a team full of internationals and dare I say we probably made new friends along the way. Even Alan Shearer said he hoped we get promoted now.

The studio pundits lauded us as though we were winners. If we can take that kind if performance to the remaining league fixtures then promotion is still on.

:ayatollah: Gutted to lose the raffle at the end but that was a performance to behold by the whole team. It would have been worse and undeserved to have lost after ET in open play. Lets have more of in the league please! :ayatollah:

I'm gutted we lost as the performance was fantastic and every single player and supporter can hold their head high this morning. the moment when mason put us 1 nil up and big bens equaliser will live with me forever (my back is killing me after lifting my 15 year old into the air). the scouse support was awful. We showed the world what a great club we were yesterday.

If it was the FA Cup or the Playoffs I think I would be really devastated but due to it being the League Cup the losing part is really overwhelmed by the amount of pride I have of the lads. Each and every one of them showed balls and courage yesterday. Even the likes of Miller and Gerrard who missed chances/pens. At least they got into the space to create their chance and had the balls to step up and take a pen. Anyone can miss a pen, not anyone can have the courage to step up and take one. :ayatollah:

super proud this morning.

papers are bigging it up for liverpool, but without a doubt the real heros of the day were us!

one of the greatest moments of my life yesterday..

once we got to penalties , i thought it was going to be ours. and with charlie adams ball still missing in action i really thought this is it! heaton the only keeper to actually make a save!

i hope now we can use this performance and day as a stepping stone , what more motivation could we possibly need to be playing in games like this week in week out! without the penalties of course.

100% correct. Fantastic performance by all concerned.

Proud, so proud. Can't wait for Sunday. We continue with that performance and we have nothing to fear for rest of season.

Oh, and we won the fans contest as well. Great fans those scousers. Nice and quiet. Let us make all the noise. It was a wall of sound for 120 mins

Its been 36 years for me in March and I have to echo Annis' comment, I have never felt as proud of a City team as I did yesterday. All we need is players who will give everything for the cause (take note mr Jones) and we will be ok. Promotion or not this season has been the best for a long while and lets hope it continues all the way back to Wembley in May (though I don't know if my heart can take another day out up there)

We were quite simply magnificent. We spoke to loads of scousers on the way out - in fact we were approached by many of all age groups randomly and every one of them was ambiguous enough to say that they could have had no complaints if they had lost the game. Their praise for the team and the fans surprised me and we were told by a few that they really look forward to playing us twice a season in fuiture if thats the sort of game and atmosphere it produces. Whilst, I am gutted at the result, I am elated too that we put on such an awesome performance that for once seems to have been given the credit it deserved. So proud of you Bluebird.

We had a few scousers approach us on route to the car, not one of them rubbed it in or laughed, a lot were pissed up and didn't have enough good words to say about us, was a great feeling fair play! :ayatollah:

Steve you are spot onwith your post. Every Bluebird canbeproud of the waytheboys went about their business and as you say we lost a lottery. However I hope DG & VT are hurting as muchas us. Wehave to break the shackles of the Langston debt and give Malky the resources to push for the Premiership.

Compared to the defensive mantra advocated by Dave Jones v a Pompey team there for the beating in 2008 FA Cup final, yesterday was evidence of a really quality manager who will one day take us to the PL. His team selection was superb, and the performances of ALL the players were magnificent.

Could not have been more proud of the whole football club.

Loved to have won it but City must now take the positives of that display onto the field in all our remaining games and repeat that determination and spirit.
