THE 4 YEAR PLAN QPR

Thu Feb 23, 2012 8:48 pm

Hi guys.

Some of you may be interested to watch this fly on the wall warts n all documentary which was filmed over 4 years from the day Flavio Briatore & Bernie Ecclestone bought the club. It really is an eye opener & really shows what a shambles our club was in up until we got promotion. I'm sure many clubs have the same problems but to have access all areas coverage with over 800 hours of film it really is unprecedented.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Four Year Plan - a fly-on-the-wall documentary following the highs and lows of Queens Park Rangers Football Club over four seasons - will be shown on BBC2 on Sunday 4th March.

The documentary will go out at 10:50pm, straight after Match of the Day 2.

The Four Year Plan follows the incredible highs and lows of the Club after being rescued from bankruptcy in 2007 by billionaire backers Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone, Lakshmi Mittal and Amit Bhatia.
Witness one of modern football's extraordinary stories with access from inside the boardroom, changing room and sidelines.
The camera records meetings, telephone conversations, matches and private chats that reveals the turbulent and dramatic developments in four seasons at Loftus Road.

The Four Year Plan culminates in an extraordinary, nail-biting finale and goes where no film about football has gone before

Hi fellas.

Yes I've seen the doc & must admit its an eye opener. Some great scenes like the QPR fans booing Briatore after sacking yet ANOTHER manager outside the ground & he stops & yells to a steward 'Get me the names of everyone booing me or ill sell the club'

Or BILLIONAIRE Bernie walking into the changing room after a vital Championship win where the lads are buzzing & clear as day looks at the isotonic drinks on the table & says 'Look at all these drinks we need to cut down, to much expenditure'!!

Briatore kicking the back of Paladini's seat & telling him to go and tell the manager who to substitute & who to play etc. Its a f*cking embarrassment.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am delighted with Hughes, has made us look a lot more organised very quickly but individual mistakes have cost us in the last 2 games, Cisse's sending off against Wolves will be the reason we'll go down if it happens, he scored on his debut & against Wolves ripped them apart 3 times in the first 10 mins & then goes and gets himself sent off & misses the best part of 4 games which were the 4 games elt would make or break our season.

If I'm honest lads its been a shit season. 2 home wins, some great away days & nice to be back but ust admit I had a lot more fun in the championship. This season every week is a great laugh & day out until the football starts!!!

yeah the prem isnt what its cracked up to be for fans, dont get me wrong id love cardiff to get promoted but heard from supporters of newly promoted sides they miss the championship s and have less fun on their travels because of stewards, plastics ,over zealous police etc

Cheers Burt lad.

Will do TC. Well worth a watch mate honestly.

Don't get me wrong if your a Swans fan or Norwich you'd probably be loving it but we don't do anything easy & as I say it hasn't been very good. Some great days out in Liverpool, Newcastle, Wolves etc but on the whole the whole Premiership thing is how can I say it.. Ideal for a club our size. Realistically what can we achieve each year? Staying up? Beating Chelsea? We will only ever be hoping for survival every year & as time goes on mid table finishes, where's the fun in that?

I loved the Championship, some real salt of the earth clubs in there like yourselves, proper clubs, proper fans, proper football, blood & guts. I've loved it every year of the 15 we were out of the top flight & couldn't wait to get promoted but in my own personal experience the grass isn't always greener.

I really hope you guys go up as you deserve it & I'd love you to feel the euphoria of knowing you've done it. Besides you'd probably make a better job of it than we managed.

Our owner Tony Fernandes is flying over today for the Fulham match & alsto to 'support Cardiff' in the cup final. Can only presume its the Malaysian connection.

Good luck Sunday chaps!!

* meants to write the Prem is NOT ideal for a club like ours but it won't let me edit the post. *

No worries cracka mate. Its all about the passion I appreciate that.

Annis I was Warno's biggest fan & loved the guy but honestly mate we were so shit it was a joke, tactically he is inept & is very much an 'old skool' manager that does not embrace new technology that MH & his coaching team do. Under NW we would have absolutely no plan B, awful substitutions & after getting humped he'd be on the tv saying how great it was to play at these grounds etc etc, the vast majority of fans knew he had to go. I was gutted but really did know his time was up.

What he done for us was nothing short of miraculous but its about moving forward not hanging onto the past.

Was Tony Fernandes' decision to axe him the right one?? We will know come May.

Stan on the Warnock comment above, not sure if I read it on here or on your FB. Is it true he was lazy and never bothered to rock up for training etc? I thought he was treated like shit until I read that along with some other stuff. Unless I have totally made it up
I still like the guy though, and can see Leeds making a late charge now

Re: THE 4 YEAR PLAN QPR

Fri Feb 24, 2012 5:35 pm

Mil he rarely took training. That was left to Keith Curle who although was very well liked by the group was known to come into training pissed on a very regular basis. One player who I won't mention told Warnock in November sort Curle's drinking out or he & a number of other players will refuse to train & will instead train independtly at local gyms that's how bad it got. This went to the top & was looked upon very unfavourably especially against Warnock as he was Curle's direct boss.

Over time it got better but didn't get fully resolved & a number of the players made direct complaints to Fernandes. Warnock great guy but weak as f**k in that sense plus many other things that you wouldn't believe. He had to go.

"You're just a bunch of grasses..."

Re: THE 4 YEAR PLAN QPR

Players want professionalism & a manager who is strong Warnock has this perception as a man not to be messed with which couldne further from the truth. He asked a particular player to help save his job in the summer when Briatore wanted to sack him after a row over finances. This particular player was close to Briatore & gave Warnock a by.

Great guy but not Premiership material by any stretch. Curle was told by Warnock he wouldn't be following him in his next job so applied for & got the County job. Might of sunk in with Warnock that he was part of his problem.

Stan, surely he deserved one full season after taking you straight up ?

Mark Hughes is not the man in my opinion for you.

Re: THE 4 YEAR PLAN QPR

Fri Feb 24, 2012 6:16 pm

We have big plans with regards to a new training complex & stadium. Fernandes splashed out in the region of £25M in January on transfer fees & the contracts that come with the new players acquired & paying off players who were not in MH plans. Our whole plan as such is built on the back of being a Premiership club what if he had taken the risk & we got relegated? It would be catastrophic.

I agree to an extent that Warnock deserved his shot but bad decisions & behind the scenes stuff throughout the season contributed massively to his demise. Confidence was rock bottom, players & fans were down & it was all very glum. Although we are in a precarious position we all know & can see what Hughes is bringing to the squad.

13 cup finals will now decide our fate.

Roll on Fooooolham

Their is 3 very large sites within 1 mile of Loftus Rd that are beiing mooted as possible targets one of those being the BBC site.

As long as we stay in our manor I'm not fussed where it is. Their was rumours we were going to relocate to well outside West London which was not well received at all & it seems the club have quashed these rumours thankfully.

Re: THE 4 YEAR PLAN QPR

Personally I'm glad Warnock's gone from QPR because I couldn't stand the man. Now Hughes is in charge my opinion of the club has increased by no end :D

I'm also glad he's gone to Leeds because it's so easy to hate Leeds anyways.

Tonight lads 11:15 after MOTD2 on BBC2

Honestly its a great watch & just goes to show what happens when you have arseholes with money running football clubs

Some cringeworthy scenes but as I say well worth a gander.

Hi mate.

Not getting a look in mate. Not even sure if he's in the 25 will have to check.

He was offered a few times to go out on loan to Championship clubs & refused every time. Palace were the last ones to come in for him.

Pitty we really need to big front man bigtime.

Anyway Stan hope your guys get their backsides in gear as there is no way QPR should where they are. Keep the faith it will come right I'm sure.

I was talking with someone at the game today and we were comparing West Ham to your team last year. Chalk and Cheese mate. This year the Championship is really average and West Ham are no QPR of 2010-11.

That Cardiff QPR game last season was fantastic in a totally different League to what was on offer today. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
