Any one here had to sit in the opposing teams end?

Tue Feb 21, 2012 7:42 pm

I did it once but never ever again

I went and sat in the home end at the liberty. It was the carling cup game the first time we had played them for a few years. I couldn't get a ticket for the away section but was desperate to be there whatever it took!
However it was the worst mistake ihave made and hated every moment.

What I found is that I couldn't resist clapping at our chances and the urge to basically act as though I was in the away end.

I was dam sure I was in for a shoeing or at risk of getting whacked with a rubber dingy

So spent the rest of the game in the bar!

So be warned Liverpool fans. It's very very hard to stay calm

Yeah boxing day , 2005 I think.

Luton v Cardiff 2-0

Couldn't get a ticket for away end so went with a mate and was right behind the goal they scored both in

And went Wurzels v City many many yrs ago and we lost 3-1.
Was with my dad in the home end.
Never again I said and apart from Luton I haven't

Liverpool at Anfield! Wasn't a problem until we decided to make it 1-1 and there was a few slaps exchanged in the main stand, the scene was repeated all along the stand, was quite funny to see the Scousers when they realised how many Cardiff were in their end. The bloke next to me then said, if I'd known we were all Cardiff at the start I'd have been giving it large

I've done it a couple of times. Both at Bristol Rovers-1st time was at Twerton Park when we went 2 up only to draw 2all. My Manc mate kept me quiet.

2nd time was at the Memorial Stadium when Danny Hill equalised and i managed to keep my gob shut again. The presence of several large Gasheads kept me quiet.

Several times. Best mate Argyle st holder so been down to visit lots of times around a cardiff fixture and sat in the home end. Likewise he did the same up here. Remember once we were 3 up and then ended up 3-3 with Purse scoring a last minute own goal, become a running joke for us and now Purse ended up playing for them!

Similar Leicester got a good friend that I visit every Leicester v Cardiff game but sit in the home end with him and loser buys a curry on a night out after, great curries in Leicester so don't mind!

could never ever do it again , ever..

the vetch twice, was in uni down there when away fans were banned from the derby, so had no other option, won 1-0 with a simon howarth goal - superb, lost 4-1 - appalling, the longest couple of hours of my life, politely clapping as each goal sailed into our net...

also a couple of corporate visits to west ham, for 2 defeats and a corporate day out at chelsea where a fair few city went up when chops equalised !!!

not a recommended experience though it is interesting to hear the thoughts of other teams fans on ones own side...

Walsall away for a mid week match around 1985. It was chucking it down with rain and the Cardiff end behind one goal was open, so we went in the opposite end with the Walsall fans.

Walsall were 3-0 up and we came back to 3-3 and hit the crossbar instead of making it 3-4. The match went quiet for a while and the Walsall fans were having a go at their team - then they scored 3 to make it 6-3 to Walsall final score.

Hell of a game and when we nearly went ahead, I put my head down inside my coat to stifle the noises I was making!

I was in the home end somewhere else once as well, but I can't remember where we were. I know I came close to taking a kicking, but managed to get out of there OK.

Not recommended and I'd rather be surrounded by CCFC fans any day - we've got a better sense of humour for a start (well, most of us, anyway).

was in the away end at brighton when they played at the withdean, last time we played them there i think, we won 2-1, cameron scoring the winner. met some mates in the bar that adjoins the stadium, had colours on but covered up, as i was on my own i walked in no prob past the monkeys on the door :D anyway, theres a big window in there and the sun was shinning onto the bar as i got a round in, not thinking, i took my jacket off, within seconds i was surrounded by lads who were sorting out details about a palace game that was the following tuesday  got saved by some old bloke who told them to stop being so childish  stayed in the away end about 10 mins and a steward let me go in the city end, as i crossed the running track, city went 1-0 up so i took of my jacket and gave the brighton stand a wave, think i got applauded by all the cardiff fans, happy dayz :ayatollah:

went to exeter in the 80s, think it was a cup game , they shut all the pubs around the ground. city fans raided the off licence. and it was something like 50p cheaper in there end. so me and my mate paid to go in there end. police found out what was going on. and about 60+ city fans got taken back to the cardiff end. good fun :ayatollah:

Yes. On Saturday January 27th 1968 City played at Stoke City and lost 4-1 in the FA Cup. My Father and I were stuck in the Boothen End, with all their yobbos, at their old Victoria Ground [ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rob.stanwa ... %20END.htm ] We had our City scarves on and somehow came out untouched. Talk about Daniel in the lion's den!

I will always link the following song with the game. As I listened to the song on the radio, for the first time ever (Dec 1967), I asked my Dad if we could go up to Stoke and see the game.
