Dosen't matter how hard players work, you need that side to the game.
But you need QUALITY, game-changers, not a team bunch of goodie goodie workhorses.
A top manager could sort out a player with issues and make them play at their best, or a player with a slight ego. Ffs, we don't even sign big name players, big name players have a big name for a reason, because theyre top players, good managers will sort that out and play them to their best ability.
Shame that Malky dosen't believe in himself and dosen't believe he can get the best out of higher reputation players, only workhorse goodies.
Class wins the league, Newcastle will prove that, Barton/Smith etc the biggest ego's in football they got promoted. QPR, Taarabt was the best player in the Championship and look at his ego.

Oh, and I did call for Chopra to stay.
25 goals a season under Malky easily.
Shame.

We do need someone with an edge ... We need someone who can pull a goal out of nowhere..albeit if he has a bit of an attitude. I think malky is a bit too strict in his policy... Maybe he doesent like confrontation thats why we never got bellamy? You never know

malky probably believes he can get the best out of big players, just have'nt the funds to go and get them.

No way, many players we could have had Malky's admitted it himself, we made a bid of 3m on 1 player there is certainly money as Malky has said very often.
Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:39 pm
who was this 3mil player we bidded for then?
Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:39 pm
This is the time you need to bring in some good fresh blood. Livens the current players up & at the same time gives new guys a shot at playing & impressing.
This time last year we brought in Wayne Routledge, Danny Shittu, Chimbonda & Ishmael Miller. I can honestly say without those additions I'm not sure we'd of gone up. Routledge & Miller won us around 10 points with goals scored alone.
It can get stale at this time of year in a squad & an injection of new faces can work wonders.
What are you waiting for??

I fear the worst as regards to fans turning on Malky, although he will always have my backing 100%
Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:42 pm
Our club don't want promotion remember,,,,A season of consolidation.
Wonder what they want next season???
Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:43 pm
It's not being negative but we were always going to get to the stage where the same players could not keep performing.
We needed extra quality and depth in the squad but choose not to strengthen during the transfer window. If you want a player go and get them at the right time not in the last 5-6 hours of the window. The squad have done fantastic up until this month with limited numbers but some questions have to be asked. Why the lack of new faces, why players like Earnie have not been used, etc.
Lets hope that we can pick some form back up.

[EDIT: Merlin]
As was said by many "we need players in the transfer window to continue the push for promotion" No players in no promotion. We are punching above our weight and now reality has struck. We didnt expect much this season , and our league position and cup final is a bonus. Can see us finishing mid table now, as we carnt beat lower table sides. So lets have a good one at Wembley and make the most of it.

Jay Bothroyd!

Southampton are making this league look easy, proper promotion candidates.
Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:57 pm
Some of our fans are a joke!
Sat Feb 18, 2012 4:57 pm
Christ we have a blip with our best defender out (expected) and lose at a ground we've only won twice at and now we are the worst team in football?

our fans need to get their negative heads out their arses and actually see that promotion is still possible for us. While on the note of promotion though, what makes all of us think it's our right to be promoted?

Cue all the negative posts - and the new expecting generation of fans on here moaning tonight!

So West Ham lose to Ipswich 5-1 and suddenly they are gonna finish mid table? Some so called fans need to take a look at them selves seriously

Idiot! Fact!

We didn't get any luck with their keeper staying on, Ipswiches first was apparently offside, and history shows we have never played well at portman road racking up a massive 2 wins. Our losses have come with our captain and best defender being injured, it's no wonder we are going through a blip. We all have to remember that we lost to a team that battered West Ham 5-1. Ipswich aren't a bad team and with our history up there the writing was on the wall

We are on a poor run for the first time this season it also coincides with Hudson who a lot of our fans don't rate

being absent. I am sure that despite Malkys and the players protestations Wembley has been a huge distraction which is natural really.
We know need to get next weeks game out of the way win or lose then concentrate on our remaining games we haven't be come a bad team over night and i still think we are good enough to make the Play Off's

Southampton have had more than 1 bad performance, so have west ham, reading, hull, Birmingham etc...
It seems worse for us because the bad results have seemed to come at 1 go, there is still 14 games left yet, 8 home games an 6 aways

West Ham have a massive squad and they will win the league. a 5-1 loss and the next game they won with 10 men.....
West Ham are in a different league to us and you cant compare. we have lost 3 out of 4 now they havent FACT

Spot on and under Malky we will have a great chance of winning the play offs.
The end of last season I would have taken the position we are in now without question.
