MALKY NOT BEING BACKED!

Tue Feb 14, 2012 6:21 am

I am sorry to upset my fellow fans but this is just my opinion. The board has no intention of backing Malky with new players, I believe Malky is being very diplomatic saying they are, after all they are is employers. The situation as far as I see it is we are presently in a prime position to push for promotion possibly even a top 2 place, but not likely. If the board are not willing to allow Malky to bring in a few loan players to freshen things up now what are they going to do when we have to start from scratch next season. Our season is just 16 games long and we are in the play off positions, will we be in the same position next season after 30 games? They are said to be ploughing £1 million a month into the club, OK great but what is going to change next season? where will this extra £1 million come from? The bottom line is we need to pay IMO 3 players wages for the next 3 months if they cannot stretch to that when we are in our current position what does the future hold for us and how long will Malky be able to work with his hands tied behind his back? Annis asked "is he being picky" well yes he is, but does he have any choice. Lets all hope we win tonight and players come in before the weekend...I won't hold my breath.

Mmmm I been starting to think the same. Would have been interesting in bolton did not come in for sordell...because it doesn't look like we have the money.

Malkay thanked the malaysians for their backing though,he wouldn't of done that if he was being backed.

Annis I have got to say this mate, the influence you have over some people on this board absolutely amazes me!
The other day roy posted the exact opposite opinion to this in a thread you started, you told him he was a sniper now he's changed his mind and done a u-turn to his previous posts! :?

Are you tony soprano or something cos i dont get how someone can change his opinion practocally overnight like roy has done!

humblegringo annis has got nothing on me ive been saying the same things since the last loan window which was way before the jan 31st one as for other posters who have seen the light maybe there all waking up and now realise that you need a squad to compete for the big league if your paying debts to the extent of prem teams debts, after all its ok paying the gas bill but there will always be another one comming through the letter box :ayatollah:

Re: MALKY NOT BEING BACKED!

Football is starting to catch up with the real world where money is in shorter supply; and at last this club is trying to live within its means,I'm glad we haven't gone down the Portsmouth route, £2.2M for Huseklepp 6 months ago! and close to Admin or the Rangers route, who depite being one of the biggest clubs in the world and selling there biggest assest for £5M are still on the brink?

We've got tens of millions in historical debt which doesn't seem any closer to being dealtwith, very little in terms of income streams thanks to Ridsdale and still too many players/staff on wages they don't earn.

We have a new board member in Mehemt Dalman, who apparently has money and has undertaken a period of due diligence but know body has been able to shed any light on why he's here.

Only time will tell what the future holds but we have to remember that we've spent almost £2M in transfer fees most of which should bring a future return, Mason, Turner & Harris.

I feel more confident in the future of our club now than I have for many years, onwards and up wards. :ayatollah:

Yes ok maybe but i dont know roy and can not see where he posts around the forum but you jump on anyone with an opinon in any thread that is diffrent to your own, your version of being negative is saying we have played crap for 5-6games and are squad is not big enough but thats what it is,is it not.???,although most fans can see this already :?

Now as far as i'm concerned this is an excellent post. Two teams that are bigger than us, one absolute huge club go into administration yet our fans want us to spend more even though we are losing £1.2 million a month!
All i ask is that people think rationally about what they are asking!

If we were making profits of £1.2 million a month maybe i would back you up but until then lets try to cut back not be reckless and end up without a club! :?

Sorry Bluebird but you have it wrong what I said was it did not take long for Annis to get on Maky's back i.e. asking if he was too picky, if you read my post replying to Annis further down that thread you would have read that I did think he was picky and that there were players out there good enough to sign for us.

This board almost unanimously said mid table and lets get finances sorted - well we have surpassed expectation and thats the problem .............debt is still the issue - until Sam resolved then we wont see millions spent on new or loans - hey guys we are at wembley and in top 6 - we would have taken that before season started when we lost 9 players .......... :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Still think we will get at least one player in MM is ambitious - Nom players left either another bonus for the plus players out on loan - BRING BACK EARNIE thats our hiden weapon

Re: MALKY NOT BEING BACKED!

Tue Feb 14, 2012 8:59 am

Even though we bid in the region of £5m on transfers, we were never gonna use that on loans. Reason being loans are dead money. If we had bought Sordell for £3m, couple of years time he could have doubled his value. The board aren't wasting money on short term gain. I'm glad they are waiting and have a long term plan. The premiership is going anywhere, plenty of time to make a real assault on promotion.

Re: MALKY NOT BEING BACKED!

Tue Feb 14, 2012 9:12 am

Roy your post is a good one with some valid points, I don't think we should allow the thread to become derailed by people talking about him contradicting previous posts.

Roy, I fear you spot on. I had faith that in light of the £3 million bid for Sordell that cash for wages would me made available. Perhaps MM is too picky but surely he would be willing to slacken his policies to get new blood in, considering the fact he seems unwilling to give older squad members an opportunity.

I'm not slagging MM off, these are great days considering what I was expecting last preseason when our squad was decimated! And I'm enjoying reading/hearing about the work ethic he has instilled at the club, but, I fear Roy may be right in that this really is a golden opportunity for promotion to the premier league with a only wages required to be paid for a relative short Period of time. Let's hope Roy's wrong and we land our targets ASAP..... Assuming Malky has targets.

Re: MALKY NOT BEING BACKED!

This post is bang on. I really wish people would look at the bigger picture here and keep their feet on the ground in the real world. Think of the podition this club has been in recently and be grateful that we still have a team that is competing at the right end of the table. We're all ambitious but we have to be realistic too. The board are backing Malky, he wouldn't keep saying it if they weren't. Let him get on with it and let the board continue to restructure the club and feal with the historic debt.

I really think that we should go for someone like Nathan Ellingtion or big Steve Howard, get the playing and scoring again! :ayatollah:

Norwich proved you dont need stars to get promoted.

Just for the record in short time I been on here I have always been and probably will be a negative but glass half full kinda guy. I always want more after so many years of hurt just one season in premier which sees us finishing above the jacks on goal difference. Then accept the parachute payments. ;)

I have to agree Roy,

if we were prepared to pay 1 mil for noone or phillips and upto 3mil for sordell which would generally be in installements then why cant we come up with around 40-50k a week for a couple of loan signings. over the rest of the season that would be around 800k in total. Thats also pending if the parent club still paid a percentage of the weekly wage.

We are within touching distance of the top 2 and and cannot see why we wouldnt want to go for it for the last 15 or 16 games etc..

Why wait til the summer and start all over again from next yr and then not be guaranteed to be in any better position than we currently are.

Why pay extraordinary wages for a player who's only here for a month? who knows he's going back to Man United,Arsenal,Liverpool etc and not give 100%?

Bellamy and Ramsey were the only exceptions as they LOVE Cardiff City!
