I thought Millers goal was ok, but if it had been given it was totally against the run of play. If we had lost by 5 or 6 today, we could not have argued.
Midfield, where was it ?
Defence all over the place.
Attack, where was it ?
Marshall did well.

As I mentioned in the match report Annis, I saw some fans leave at half time to go to the pub.......can you blame them?

good post and i totally agreebluelover wrote:I have been thinking about Gerrard lately on the back of shipping so many goals of late. I haven't heard many people commenting on him so thought it must be just me.
I was expecting Hudson back today and when I heard he wasn't I was decided not to listen to the game as suspected it wouldn't go well. If you looked at those highlights carefully, Gerrard was all over the place, failing to tackle and giving the ball away. If Hudson is not fit on Tuesday then I think its time for Blake to be given a chance along Turner

(Kenny's disallowed goal must have been a tight offside - I thought he might have been on)
I can see why (lazy) reporters & pundits keep on saying our minds are on the Carling Cup final etc but I disagree.
We're just going through a dodgy run of form... which SHOULD be put to bed on Tuesday with three points.

Yes it should be, but never underestimate Posh and Darren Ferguson, tough cooky.

AGREED, just a few bad memories against them.

The more worrying statistic from that game is that for the first time I can remember we failed to have a single attempt on target that counted, penalties do not as attempts on target, the last time we had anything similar was away at Stoke City on 28th November 2006 when we had only 1 on target attempt.
For me Leicester met the right team on the right day yesterday as I think we have our sights firmly on the League Cup Final and no amount of denial from the club will convince me otherwise. I thought as much when I had an email asking if I wanted to attend a celebration dinner, BEFORE THE CUP FINAL, at the CCS. Celebrate WHAT? Cup Final appearances are a party for the day but the real bread and butter has to be the League.
For me I wish this Cup Final was Tuesday night and we could get it behind us because our League form is suffering and you just cannot sugar coat a performance where you do not have a single attempt on target.

Gary, were you not shocked/worried by that performance ? There have been a few like that lately.

I wasn't shocked Annis because I think we have taken our eye off the ball and right now it's more important to organise a Celebration Dinner than get the mentality of the team right, and that disappoints me.
What worries me is what is going to happen against Peterborough and Ipswich because losing both those games, which given the 2nd half against Southampton, Blackpool and Leicester is a real possibility would be hugely damaging to our season. Momentum is everything in football and at this moment in time we have little. Peterborough is a must win game now.
I think we made Leicester look better than they are and there is absolutely no getting away from the fact that no attempts on target in 90 minutes is desperately poor.
Big test of MM man management to get our players out of this drop in form, but I have more faith in him doing that than I ever would in Dave Jones.

The last few games KM has not been at his best and may need a rest and I would like us to start with Earnie and Gestede, forget this 4-5-1 and have a go at winning with style. Gunnarson is unlikely to play as I cannot see us risking him so I would go with Whitts and Kiss CM and Vuckic and Conway wide. Cowie has played virtually every minute this season and he could do with a rest as well.
We must beat Peterborough and right now I think Earnie maybe just a little angry about not being given a chance for the last few months, remember he scored one and set one up at West Brom, so it's still very much there and unlike KM he doesn't need 10 attempts at goal to score.
Definately Earnie time for me and that would give KM a rest before the CC Final.![]()

If Dave Jones was still manager you would have been putting the blame for all of what you have just said firmly on him and slating him. Funny how you are not blaming your beloved Malky. Hmmmmm!
