I think City got it wrong last night.

Of course I am happy with the draw, but once you are 1 nil up and in control, you should go on and take advantage,they were there for the taking.

In my opinion when we changed to 4-4-2 and brought Rudy on, who to me is not ready,(needs a run in a reserve side etc), we lost our composure and also our passing and control in the second half was non existent, Southampton controlled 90% of the second half last night, thats how it looked from the stand.We did not know what to do and were lucky to come away with a draw.I could not wait for the final whistle, I felt the longer the game went on, the more likely Southampton would score again.

Mason and Earnie, surely one of them should have come on ?

I think the problem was mcphail. He's great in a home game when we need to break teams down but when we're away against a tough team with running midfielders mcphail always finds it difficult and in the second half he was blowing through his arse!

I have to agree to a certain extent, Rudi is not the finished product, far from it IMO.

Earnie would have made a better substitution, think it's unfair how he is being left out week in / week out ... he's an impact player, can score given 1/2 a sniff.

In my opinion after last night's game, it shows we need extra coverage on the wing and a striker, lets hope we can sort something in the loan window as there are teams behind us closing the gap, Birmingham for instance who look like they could run away with the league at the moment.

I thought the 2nd half was as bad as I have seen our midfield play all season with our passing being off the Mark, and as for Rudy I am sorry but the guy is not good enough for us However on the plus side to play as poor as we did in the 2nd half and to come away with a draw just shows how far we have come
I thought Lambert was the best forward player we have played against all year he was a constant threat and we just about contained him from causing serious damage on a few occasions

As strange as this might sound, I could copy and paste this, then with a tiny change here and there, that would just about sum up the Swans last night. Maybe it's something to do with Rodgers and MacKay both having a similar philosophy? From their time at Watford?

i think we are always going to be better with a 4-5-1. rudy doesnt really offer a lot apart from a few flick ons. hes def not ready i dont think.

i am really disappointed that we were unable to bring any players in, not blaming anyone.

thought the sordell offer though was ridiculous.... 3 mil for 1 player, we could def have got 2 or 3 players for that which would have improved our squad.. i dont want to be negative but cant help think that we made this offer knowing that he was going to a prem team, just like our bellamy offer that we knew we couldnt match but it makes fans feel that we did try again......

i am pleased with our squad, the games are going to come thick and fast now and we are knocking on the door, will this squad be big enough to carry us to the finish line? i dont know....

the loan window opens in a weeks time but we have been here before. i believe we are only going to be able to bring in unwanted prem players that may not have the work ethic we are looking for..

Controversial comment coming... I don't really rate Gestede that highly. He's ok but I'd say right now he's League 1 standard. Admittedly, he's better than Parkin but I'd place Mason and Earnshaw higher up the pecking order than him.

I won't grumble against a point away to Southampton. I'd written it off as a 2-0 or 3-0 defeat! However, the fact we are looking at what could have been shows how far we've come and perhaps shows that maybe missing out on players in the transfer window isn't as disastrous as some may think.

Whether we sign players or not, I reckon we will be up there at the end of the season.

Yeah, that's the thought I've always had. Win all your home games and draw all your away games and you get automatically promoted. If you slip up here and there then you'll still make the playoffs.

I thought we had better of first half and unfortunately Kenny had an off night missing a good chance in the 1st half.
To be fair saints lifted their game 2nd half and I thought like a few that macca isn't quick enough when teams play at that tempo. Knew ref would give them something after denying a previous pen and it looked harsh but I would have taken a point before the game and team battled well. Ruddy looks so raw at this level and could do with a loan spell playing regular football but too do that we need some reinforcements next week.
Brum are on a charge and I believe saints play them and whu in next couple of weeks.

We have to stay behind the team and our manager Believe!!! As our new chant goes......

Annis completely agree. McPhail last night was particularly shocking. He gave the ball away countless times and slowed the game down when we were in a good attacking position. Also the negativity from set pieces was unbelievable. Countless times we had free kicks on the half way line or inside their half and Gerrard/Turner stayed back rather than getting in to the box to cause problems.

Great following, Cowie and Marshall were the only players to come out with any plaudits from my perspective. Substitutions wrong from Malky again (if he has a fault this is becoming it). Agree that Kiss came on fro McPhail but it was 30 mins too late. Rudy looks way off the pace at the moment, and despite living next door to my mum and dad and being a thoroughly nice bloke is nowhere near championship quality. I actually think Nat Jarvis is better.

This has happened too often there have been other occasions when we have changed from 4 5 1 to 442 and brought Rudy on ate its been the same result, in that the shape, compactness and passing goes out of the window and we look a side that is vulnerable and can be unlocked by the opposition. Agree previous times Rudy was coming back from injury as well. It's learning curve for Malky I've full faith he sees what we do unlike the previous manager who I will mention nothing further on!

We were the better side in the first half and they were in the second so a draw a fair result I thought. They bombarded us after they got the equalizer. Haven't seen the replay but a few have said the penalty was harsh - the ref was always going to give them one though after the number of appeals and the way they were throwing themselves about and the crowd appealing like mad for everything.

I agree regarding Kiss being brought on earlier for McPhail as we gave the ball away too much through his lack of pace and awareness of where his opponents were last night, but my question is where was Mason? I haven't been a huge Conway fan but he's been a lot better in recent games and last night they sent everything down the left after he went off as nobody was tracking back. Brining Rudy on and switching to 4-4-2 leaves a huge hole on the left, so if taking Conway off then surely Mason out there is the answer and stick to 4-5-1... Not often I think Malky gets it wrong but have to agree he did last night.

I see it as a point gained rather than one dropped and personally am glad we didn't spend £3million on Sordell...

I disagree mcphail played well first half.We have to expect sides like saints to have a real go at us when one nil down at home,city dont have to win every game to gain promotion.Cardiff fans can be too critical .as i keep saying these are the GOOD TIMES ENJOY.

We've already seen that changing to 4-4-2 does not work, I think we should stick with 4-5-1 and leave it at that.
