LATE BUISNESS

Wed Feb 01, 2012 8:21 am

why did we leave it so late to make a bid for sordell, did we really have the money knowing that prem teams where in for him.i think we been sold down the river again,i cant see many people rushing out today to get a season ticket for next year if i am honest.i think there will be plenty of tickets to buy for wembley LACKING AMBITION SUMS IT UP

Re: LATE BUISNESS

Agree entirely Keano

Re: LATE BUISNESS

Wed Feb 01, 2012 8:31 am

Agree to an extent about the strategy if money like 3 million was there. But think its the case of we are in a rebuilding year with a budget that reflects that.

Re: LATE BUISNESS

Wed Feb 01, 2012 8:35 am

if we bid too early, other clubs would get alerted quicker and a bidding war would soo nerupt, by leaving it late Malky was probably thinking he could sneak in quietly.

Ive been watching this new TV in SHOP for weeks but the last day to buy it on sale is 1pm today lets hope its there at 12:30 . I really can not get my head around trying to land a player hrs before a window shuts myself, then tell everyone once the window shuts "HOW CLOSE WE WAS" "IT COULD HAVE BEEN" "WHAT WENT WRONG" "WE HAD 3MILLION" yet accordiing to the press release we bid 3million on sordell and 1.5million on noone thats 4.5million we was going to spend a few hrs before deadline ended YEA RITE.Yet last week we couldnt muster up anything over a 400k bid according to gus poyet for noone and was knocked back with a 800k bid for matt phillip then This wk we had 4.5million a few hrs before deadline,TOTAL RUBBISH and i await the BIG EXCLUSIVE UPDATE of how we failed with the near misses all the crap that goes with it just like the info before that we all knew about

were we the only club to leave it late then? why do people think the lions share of business gets done on the last day of a window.
Malky left it late not to alert other clubs to sordell's availability but as it happened his agent went straight to bolton who gazumped us and were able to offer premiership football.
people on here make it sound like it was only our club who left things late where the case is everybody leaves it as late as possible for the reason above.

Got to agree with Keano. Feel really let down by this transfer activity. All a smoke screen to keep fans happy and buy season tickets. Do you really think Malky conducts business this way looking how organised his teams are and how well he conducts himself? I think not.

Re: LATE BUISNESS

Some right idiots in this thread, yes we didn't bring in the players we wanted but there is always the loan window.

We're a point off automatic spot.

Onwards & upwards and enjoy the Magic Malky Ride :ayatollah:

so do you think malky was lying the when he said that he had bid for noone and sordell.
it looks to me like we had a war chest of some 4 million to play with so where's the dissapointment in that. The same money is available to bring in a couple of quality loan players and that same money will be used to fund the loan fee's clubs now charge when you take their players on loan.
if you are dissapointed with being in the league cup final and a point of the automatics going into february then you really are supporting the wrong club

You are right in what you say. To all the moaners out there, I have to say "Its no good pestering for inside information all the time" and then moaning when we get gazzumped THATS WHAT HAPPENS when these things become public. Dave Moans used to grumble like hell about it, saying it can screw up deals. So don't blame Malky, lets blame ourseves.
We are pushing for the top lets be positive about it !!!!!!!

Re: LATE BUISNESS

I know it's exciting when we sign new players but will you all get a grip. We are in the Carling Cup Final and 3rd in the league having only lost once in 20 games. We're in desperate need of players obvioulsy!

Plus for those saying "who waits til the last day" how many transfers were completed in the rest of yesterday v any other day in January? 79 yesterday and the next higest was the day before when 29 (including ours) took place.

Malky has stated since he took over that he will only sign players if they are right for the team, that didn't happen so we'll wait until next week and see what loans are available. If their not right, I guess we won't sign any. We're still doing pretty well in my book.

If any of you don't want your tickets for Wembley coz you feel "let down", I'll find a home for them.

Where in my post did i say i'm disappointed with any part of this season other than the business in this window? Read the post correctly before commenting you retard. All i'm saying is it seems strange for Malky to do business this way and find it quite unbelievable we had £4 million to spend.

Re: LATE BUISNESS

Boo hoo we didn't get Messi & Tevez. Get a grip you blockheads we are Cardiff City. Not Man City! We are in the carling cup FINAL & we are 3 points away from the top of the table. It's fantastic! How some of you can moan about this and spread doom baffles me. As soon as something doesn't go to plan, you blockheads simply melt.

Hilarious post calling Steve Davies a retard!!! Clearly written by someone who has no idea about Steve's importance, value and understanding of club affairs.

he didnt say you weren't allowed an opinion, he commented and quite rightly so, you calling Steve a retard and questioning his "understanding of club affairs" Without going into detail, Steve knows his stuff, from the inside perspective so has more understanding of what goes on than you, or I for that matter.

Good post. Too many negative people who seem to lack appreciation of where we are at the moment.

I'll say it again. I'm not one bit disappointed with this season. Malky has worked wonders. Just disappointed with the lack of strengthening and the bull shit we had £4 million to spend.

read deano and your posts again you clearly state that its was a smokescreen and yet there's an article from malky in the wetern mail clearly stating he had the money and the malaysians backing to bring in noone and sordell.
i wont lower myself to your level with cheap insults because to me when you resort to insults the argument is lost

Re: LATE BUISNESS

If we had £4 million do you not think as soon as Malky knew Sordell was a no go he would have used that money on Noone as Brighton were obviously willing to sell.

He said countless times throughout the transfer window that there wouldn't be any "knee-jerk" transfers 1.2 million for no one was a bloody good offer, anything more would have been ridiculous. I think if there wasnt a game played. We might have had a bit more time to look for a plan B. but it wasn't the case.

I'm just relishing the possibility of what our warchest can get in the loan window.

Maybe he doesn't think Noone is worth anymore than that and if that's the case that is good enough for me. I don't want a manager who spends big sums of money just for the hell of it and thankfully Malky isn't the sort of guy to do that.

Yes, we moved in late for Sordell - Bolton moved in later with a little more and beat us to him. Such is life. That is the way the transfer market goes.

I think we should be lucky in the poisition were in! 2 playoff failers and up there again this year! Look at forest, 2 playoff failers and now fighting relegation, cant score to save themselves! Weve even got a carling cup final! Am sure many of the teams below us would take our team and staff!
