Ally Mcoist to step down as Manager...
Lost 15 pt lead to Celtic ...
Turned down £7m Jelavic bid from WHU and QPR
But had to accept a £5.5m bid from Toffees because they still owed £1.5m for Micheal Ball
Good times if your a Celtic fan though..

Well if that's true then I know who I'd be looking to get loan players from next week

That's only half of it, they have also mortgaged 4 years of seaon tickets to a third party just to pay this seasons running cost and are 5 million short in VAT from said deal......Also have a 49 million tax case being heard with HMRC in march for tax evasion. Administration or liquidation is guarenteed.

Rangers would have to be my "Scottish Side" but the big question is why would they waste so much money on a shit league. It's mindless.

During the 90's they really went to win the European Cup/Champions League and they got close...too close for my liking haha!
Ex chairmans famous line ''for every fiver Celtic Spend i'll spend a tenner''...it's came back to haunt them. A couple teams up here gone, pompy...it's hard times out there and if any club that isn't run propey is vurnerable to the same.

Michael Ball......now theres a blast from the past. I remember at one stage he looked like he was going to be awesome! They still owed £1.5M for him...

Didnt they sell him years ago?!

It's not really though as the SPL would collapse without half of the old firm, any little revenue they do get will disappear. I heard that if Rangers do disappear Celtic will try and get into the Championship, not sure if the Premiership would allow them in but football league would somewhere in the pyramid.

Very few clubs would miss the Old Firm to be honest, they are no longer an attraction - very few stadiums sell out thses days when they visit. Even their own fans only turn out in numbers for Old Firm games.

I think the game would improve with out either side, when teams have been rellegated their crowds have went up when in the first deivision. People just want to see a side with a chance of winning. I would love to go to England, even if it means starting from the very bottom. There are Welsh sides there so why not one day

Buses leave places like Motherwell , Dundee , Livingston , Edinburgh etc etc full of locals heading to Glasgow to watch "theyre beloved Celts or Gers"... If these plastic glory supporters followed there local teams the SPL wouldn't be in such a poor state ( attendance wise)
Don't care how many people say "I've supported Celtic fa 20years"
You SUPPORT UR LOCAL TEAM!!!!!!!
Sun Feb 12, 2012 12:00 pm
Yeah but you caould say that about any country, I know a man utd and liverpool fan that travel from Glasgow most weeks, it just happens when teams are successfull.
The SPL attendances are actually very high as a ratio to the population, more people per head go to games here than in England. Though it's a lot less than it was even 10 20 years ago, the biggest ever european attendance was here....i think it's more to do with all seater stadiums, over zealous policing and stewarding and the general decline in the match day exoperience. The Bundesliga is the league everyone should be looking at, cheap tickets, standing areas and they have huge crowds every week.
We will have a safe standing area very soon, can't wait.

They'd start at the very bottom. Nowhere else. And the Jocks wouldn't accept that.

It is a great ground, I think you are right to not expect much. Ibrox can be very loud, but a home game against killie (particulary with what's going on around the club just now) could be a poor experience. There was only around 20'000 at their last home game, that's unheard of. Enjoy your weekend though, it's a great city....and go to celtic park for a tour, much better...though i'm biased ha!
Sun Feb 12, 2012 2:34 pm
Im actually doing the Ibrox tour sunday morning i hope, dont really have any preference regarding either team really, slight preference for rangers because they play in Blue, and because i quite liked Davie Cooper.I didnt know the fixtures whan i booked the trip, would like to visit parkhead one day,an old firm game would be a great experience

I don't know how much i'll post on here but I always have a look, if you or anyone ever fancied a celtic rangers game i'm ok for tickets...only at celtic park though as we only get 10,000 tickets for ibrox so they are like gold dust.
Cooper was a class act, just glad he was before my time and I didn't have to suffer him

Be careful what you wish for.
Mon Feb 13, 2012 4:53 pm
I wasn't wishing for anything, don't really have an opinion on it, just surprised it has taken so long. Wake up call for every club that isn't trying to reduce debt, i'm just glad Celtic are run properly, as are Cardiff. We are the lucky ones, and hopefully this silences the impatient fan that wants to buy buy buy.

Spot on The SPL is boring as it is, without Rangers it would be pitiful!
Mon Feb 13, 2012 8:25 pm

Crazy such a club should wind up in this mess
Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:00 pm
it is for you because rangers will be debt free and will get stronger.
Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:08 pm
Shouldn't reply to this but good, a "football club" more deserving of obscurity would be very hard to find. Would give Scottish football a much needed boost, horrible despicable entity and apart from the odd one or two, literally, the most despised bunch of one eyed bigoted fans on the planet. Independence for Scotland and f**k the the scum, can't see hollirood or whatever its called comming in with a few McEuros to bale the cunts out...
Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:11 pm
A friend and I were planning on visiting the Old Firm a while ago, but then the Icelandic vulcano Gjöüplatbchrëqökójslálakslski made things unnecesary complicated when she started spitting ashes and fucked up the whole flight schedule. It's wonderful to see Rangers lose on the grass, but not because of financial problems. For that matter it would be best for the whole of Scottish football if both Celtic and Rangers reduced their budgets for a while. It could perhaps give the other SPL teams some air. As said above by others: if clubs like Dundee, Hibs and Aberdeen would do better it brings back the thrill .and exitement. I guess every Scottish club would benefit from that.
