THE DEADLINE DAY THREAD

Mon Jan 30, 2012 10:56 am

Now, I know it's not deadline day YET. But I thought this thread would help keep everybody up to date. The latest news are that Kadeem Harris, a Wycombe Wanderers winger and Craig Noone, a 23 year old Brighton winger are set to have medicals at Cardiff City :ayatollah:

Because they have the money there we have bit part money and bidding on players knowing there worth much more makes us look like idiots when it becomes public which as we all know it gets rejected.Cash is king in football something we do not have the last transfer window told me this and the last loan window told me this,But im just happy we got a squad of grafters and doing so well which will go downhill if we get one or two injurys for a few weeks thats the only down side to are squad atm as the players playing week in week out are all key players :ayatollah:

Not wanting to sound negative bt leaving things this late risks affecting preperation for a big game tomorrow night. I would be surprised if the team hasn't already left for the Southampton game so if we are in the middle of signing players who will be dealing with it.

Surely Malkay will be very close to any deals so if things go on into tomorrow how on earth does he keep his focus on preparing team for a big game. I'm sure people are working hard to get these deals done but sometimes you just have to pay the man. Afterall we are not talking about £4m here if anything it will be about 25% of that and even then it will be payable in instalments.

The Carling Cup run must have put a lot of cash into the club so I just cannot understand why it seems to take for ever to get a deal done. Leicester and Southampton have been turned back on some of their targets but they look like completing important deals today.

Forget the loan window we all know what happened last season and for me we really don't want to go there, we need to get a couple in on permanent deals.

Because they have to get international clearance to cross the Severn Bridge into Wales :ayatollah:

As for why we are not signing players straight away is because we have decent people doing their jobs properly now ..
I think the last Quick purchase we had was the Beast....
Overpaid/ overfed/ not good enough for Cardiff...
If its going to happen it will happen...

Let's all have some faith and hopefully with some luck( god knows we are due some ) at some point today or tomorrow Malky will be in a press conference sitting alongside new arrivals.

I'm sure Malky would have planned all this in advance, and probably send the team down with the assistant with specific instructions on the schedule & plans etc - then join them as soon as he can. I don't see this as a big problem. :ayatollah:

I hope your right Graig it's that I feel MM is a stickler for detail and I hope this won't become a distraction and take his eye off that game tomorrow. I would like to know if he has travelled with the team.

Look lads we were happy before the talk of some transfers and we will be happy if nothing comes off. Has the players any of them let us down so far ? NO and i am sure the current bunch will do just dandy for the remainder of the season, and anything else will be a bonus. I cant think of a better bunch of players we have ever had IMO :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

WE NEED A STRIKER!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody can guarantee Millers' fitness for the remainder of the season.

If, god forbid, he does get injured then we're down to Parkin & Earnshaw as out and out strikers. (Mason is not a striker)Those two with respect are mid to lower half of the league standard.

I am sure MM knows what he wants and is being frustrated but it is desparate City get a striker in now or on loan.

Delighted to see one new wide player come in but we need someone as well who is more experienced.

Is the Noone deal dead then; BBC report implies it is?

I won't disagree with what you've said there Nukes, who could, but with 8 games in March I think we need more players. I can't remember the last time we played 8 games in a month it's a big ask.

I'm sure he planned to get his players before tomorrow. The southampton game is pretty big and he really needs to be presents. Not ideal preparation !
