HOW DO I COMPLAIN ABOUT THE STEWARDS ?

Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:26 am

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the stewards on the pitch last night. Actually rugby tackling and hitting people to the ground when if they looked around for a second they would see there was no way they'd be able to get everyone off the pitch that way. They are sad men who took the job so that they have some authority over others and must have reveled in fans running onto the pitch as it gave them the chance to fight, hit, tackle anyone they wanted.

One man got hit by a steward as he tried to run onto the pitch, so he pushed the steward away, less of an offence than what the steward had done to him, and then the POLICE get involved and remove the man from the pitch!! WELL WHAT ABOUT REMOVING THE THUGGISH STEWARDS!!! DISGUSTING!!

And i say all this as someone who didn't run onto the pitch, and have never run onto the pitch or had a disagreement with a steward myself. So i have no personal grudge.

Great result though!

End of the day its their job as you're not allowed on the pitch. What should they do? Stand there doing nothing and get handed their P45 this morning??? Nothing will come as old bill will say if you want to press charges we'll give you a lovely 5 year ban.....so crack on!

youd take pleasure in giving an over excited young lad a five year ban for running on the pitch and harming no one

very very sad

i saw a lot more of people attacking the stewards than the stewards attacking the fans.

it was there job to stop them and if i was a steward i would of been even rougher to the stupid selfish idiotic fans who ran on the pitch !!

no sympathy for them fans

Maybe it was slighly OTT, but if we had all paid attention to the clubs e-mails about not invading the pitch, we wouldnt even be having this debate.

Im all for it, i think its good celebrating with the players, just dont moan afterwards if you get tackled or held down, at the end of the day it was trespassing!

Against FA rules aswel, so expect a fine or more bubble trips in future.

Craig - I see your logical point about not going on the pitch in the first place, but there was definitely a better way to handle it than some of those stewards were last night. The previous poster was correct when saying some of them were 'looking' to get involved to fulfil their own desires to give someone a shoeing.

I saw one fat old grey-haired steward pluck a random 16yr old lad from the thousands running amock, put him in a headlock, drag him 40yds to the edge of the pitch and literally throw him over the advertisement hoardings.

Then i saw a 6ft brick sh*thouse fan casually strolling of the pitch and when the steward approached him, he gave him a high-five and they both started laughing and celebrating together.

Now was this because he looked hard as f*ck? Or because this particular steward used his common sense a little and thought 'he's not doing any harm, it's a memorable moment in the clubs history, lets not take all the fun out of football'?

Like i said, I understand the 'shouldn't be on the pitch in the first place' bit (and I didn't go on myself) but 99.9% of the people on the pitch last night were simply there to harmlessly celebrate and it's nights like this that stick in the memory forever, so a little bit of control, common sense and consistency from the stewards is, i think, the point the original poster is making.

Fans celebrating with their team, manager and owners on a pitch full of smiles is just the image the club should be proud to display on TV - especially if we eventually look to be accepted in the Premiership.

Fat old Jacks beating up teenagers however, is not....

What e-mails?

I didn't invade the pitch, some kids did and were attacked by adults. Time for some perspective, by you, the club and its stewards.

you should have read your E mail.

I am a grown man with kids. there is not ONE f*cking job on earth i would
take for the peanuts them stewards are on that would involve laying my
hands on a young lad cheering on his team.

all ill say because being on the pitch last night it was very chaotic as these situations invariably are
i didnt see any assaults of any kind im not saying it didnt happen but i was busy ensuring the squad got safely off the pitch
its not nice being labelled a bully or a hitler when im anything but
same as a lot of fans dont like being called hooligans when they arent
yes im sure we have bad stewards bad people exist in all walks of life
if you want to complain by all means you have my support and im sure your allegations will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken
but dont paint everyone with the same brush

Fair comment and I can only go by what I saw, from a point way above the pitch, so I had a good view of the proceedings.

Some of the behaviour by some of the stewards was out of order. I hope that any video footage of that is not destroyed, whether it be "accidentally" or not and that certain people are dealt with accordingly.

well i can only see whats in front of me i cant do anymore than that
when there is a mass incursion aiming your efforts at individuals is a waste of time
because if you escort one person off the pitch your leaving a hundred still on the pitch so whats the point
the priority is the players and coaching staff because though im sure no fans means any of our players any harm but when they get bombarded by fans all in good cheer accidents do happen
i did make it on tv last night so there was my 5 minutes of fame lol
and im more than satisfied with the job i did and so were my superiors
