mccormack £2.5m move on cards.

Fri Jan 20, 2012 12:39 am

Yet another fine example of the previous managements commercial accumen. Mccormac is being hotly tipped to leave Leeds in the January transfer window following the impending move of Jonathan Howson to Norwich.Mccormack is wanted by Wigan in a £2.5m move which is likely to be concluded over the next couple of days.

Apologies if this has been reported previously but makes my blood boil that, once again, our club has thrown away a shed load of cashon a player who we helped establish. If i recall no re sale agreement was inserted into the contract when we sold him to Leeds. Easy come easy go eh!!

The mistake was not selling him to Hull for a reported 4m (according to PR).

No, the mistake was selling this talent in the 1st place imo

Bollocks rumour.

Didnt see anyone complaining when we got rid as we still had
bellamy and chops in front of him.

Nor did i see anyone complaining last season when he done f**k all.

how people quickly forget that he was a pisshead for us and overweight along with his well documented driving and pissing against the castle wall issue's.
maybe under a different manager he would have knuckled down and rediscovered his form but at the time the best thing for him and his career was to move on.

As always Steve you are the voice of reason. And very correct as usual. It was time for Ross to move. However, perhaps a little sneaky clause in his contract for a sell on fee wouldn't have gone amiss. Unless there is one of course. In which case, well done. :ayatollah:

We still sold him for more than we paid for him......what's the difference between some of our fans, and a Rottweiller?
The Rottweiller knows whe to let go. ;)

He might have been a pisshead but he was still my favorite player. Never understood why the Bothroyd/McCormack partnership wasn't given more time.

Certainly we didn't need to spend £3 or 4m bringing Chopra back.

LOL. Yeah and we bring Earnshaw in ,who's done Sweet FA for us while having a better wage package each week no doubt . Bellamy was a piss head and a trouble maker on and off the Pitch , but we all seemed to love him .
Tell you this much , Give me Ross even a so called over weight Ross to the waste of space that is Earnshaw . I loved Earnshaw but he's no use to us at all now

Yes one day McCormack was sold then the next day we signed Earnie. Not linked at all. To a man on here we all wanted to sign Earnie.

Sold one and signed the other 12 months apart. Nonsense comparison whatsoever.

Got Ross off the wage bill, help fund what we had to pay for Bellamy.

Bellamy effectively replaced Ross last season. And no one grumbled. Cos it was a no-brainer

He was not and never would have been worth 2.5m with us he had to move on to re start his career we done the right thing, unfortunately he has gone and grabbed a second chance and proved himself it was the kick up the ass he needed

Oh I did . 1 Ross can play every game and 2 the Club could afford Ross wages (he was hardly the highest paid player) and its not like Bellamy didn't like a drink or himself face court action because of it , oh and he cost the club some 30k a week .

Ross is a class act that Jones and the Club should have kept and I'll have him back tomorrow , compared to the waste of space that is Earnshaw - who's probably on high wages than Ross ever was

Of course you did Mr.Hindsight

Bellars never went to the papers saying he wanted out of Cardiff. Ross did.

Or did you forget that?

Re: mccormack £2.5m move on cards.

Fri Jan 20, 2012 2:50 pm

Well if he still had him now we would have had to have given him a new contract. If you consider his season last season not a lot of people would have been keen on giving him a new one after doing nothing for about 3 seasons.

Im afarid he fell out with jones tony and once that happened he was always destined for the door.
Jones was inflexible when it came to disputes with players and was never able to give someone a second chance to redeem themselves

LOL. Bellars left the Club , just like Ross did - that after promising he'll only play for Cardiff City or Man City .

Or did you forget that ?

He wasn't given a chance last season lets be fair . And what's Earnie done this season , bar bit part player , sit on the bench and cost the club some 9k plus a week, while Ross done much more at Leeds this season . Give me an overweight Ross anyday of the week , compared to a past it Earnie

Luke, I think PR was telling porkies and was putting Ross's name around at the time, hoping to get that much money.

Yeah I agree Annis, we know Hull made a bid because I think Phil Brown said but i doubt it was anywhere near 4m.

PR, needed money at the time, used Browns interest to try and get other interest.
