this is shocking news and not good enough...

says he has to serve a minimum of 18 months and also gets a 6 year ban from football grounds ...... the bloke killed a man at a football match for f**k's sake ..... that should be more time inside and a lifetime ban from football

They gave Cardiff fans 18 months for jumping up and down in a street at Chelsea, they gave a Cardiff lad 4 years for throwing a bottle against Westham.

The minor "crimes" get stupidly long punishments yet the serious ones seem to get off lightly.

Jack Martin the Sloper road attacker gets 16 months for assault and a guy who causes the death of a fan gets 3 years? out in 18 months on good behaviour. I am sure that Ian Mytton didnt intend to kill but the fact remains he did. A 41-year-old man has been jailed for three years for the manslaughter of Wales football fan Michael Dye outside Wembley Stadium before September's England-Wales Euro 2012 qualifier.

Cardiff City fan Mr Dye, 44, suffered a fractured skull and died in hospital after being found outside the stadium.

Ian Mytton, from Redditch, Worcestershire, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey via video link last month.

He was also banned from football matches for six years.

Mytton was told he must serve at least 18 months.

Mr Dye, a father-of-three, was found injured outside Wembley's Gate C, before the match, which England won 1-0.

He was taken to Northwick Park Hospital in north-west London with blunt force trauma to the back of his head at 19:20 BST on 6 September, but died a short time later.

Known to many as Mikey, Mr Dye, from Ely in Cardiff, worked as a stonemason for the city council.

He was a long-time Bluebirds fan who wrote about the club on the Cardiff City Forum website.

Annoys me and its so sad that we were all there around 19.25 and if we been there just 5 mins earlier then maybe it might not have happened ?

3 years and then he's out of jail... in 3 years, Mikey Dye's family won't get their husband/dad back.

He will likely be out on the 12th of March 2013 on license (18 months -100 days time served)
