The Kenny Miller knockers!!!

Fri Nov 11, 2011 7:05 pm

He's not Lionel Messi. He'd probably be a pretty capable Premier Striker if playing for a
decent side.

But at Championship level he is Class.

Just watching him tonight against Cyprus. OK they're shite. But the man is a very
experienced, clever striker, with great awareness, a bit of pace and a goalscorers
instinct.

It saddens me but i cant help thinking there were lots of clueless 'football fans'
on this board complaining about signing him... and how many of them just got
their 'Miller knowledge' off Wikipedia or some PS3 game

What a goal tonight!

:ayatollah:

It does my swede in. Some tw*t posted how he'd 'only scored 6 goals for Derby'
in the Premiership.. OBVIOUSLY off wikipedia... NO IDEA that Derby that season
only scored 20 altogether

I was never a fan of Miller. I didnt really want him here. But had to concede that
he was going to be bloody good at this level.

I loves 'im now innit

I agree, there were several dickheads on here that knocked him before he even kicked a ball for us - f*cking arsholes (you know who you are).
The problem here is that i'm responding to arseholes who have a very limited football knowledge and have never seen good, bad or indifferent players over the years - i have, 44 years of CCFC with the ability to see the bigger picture of individual players abilities - i.e Willie Anderson, Phil Stant, Tony Evans etc etc. This includes players that we should have signed and loads that we should'nt have signed.

I supported KM 's signing from the start and said at the time that Malky new what he was doing....a good buy and well worth the money and wages.

It's staggering! The guy didn't have a pre season and was getting over a crap time in turkey but some were queuing up to slag him off! Kenny was always going to come good and we've seen that in recent weeks! He is also a model pro and a good leader! Twenty times the player Chopra is these days!

I just never liked him

But had he signed for Reading, West Ham, Leeds...

I'd have been worried.

I loves him now mind

So who, exactly, is knocking Kenny Miller? Probably one of the many people on this board who never go to games. Keyboard warriors.

And perhaps now 'the Miller knockers' will learn to trust Malky's judgement, after all he brought him here as well as many others.

Well has a season ticket holder that actually goes to watch games I find those piss poor comments quite insulting . For long periods of most matches this season Miller 1st touch as been lacking, his passes off the mark and the crowed needing to get on his back to cash down the defender or goal keeper, That's Miller trouble, one moment he's brilliant , the next he's poor No question and no doubt he's a decent player and far better than Earnie, but he's still quite poor for long periods in a match imo

The thing is, some fans expected too much too soon. he'd had a horrendous time over the past few months in Turkey, no pre-season and was thrown straight in.

Sometimes we need to have a bit of patience and use a bit of judgement. Unfortunately some of our fans will jump on a players back within an hour of seeing him play. I was away for the west ham game and was getting texts saying Miller was shit 5 minutes before he scored.

he was also made to look bad by his partner Earnie, who lets be fair would make Messi look bad with his inability to see other players runs and head-down style. Not knocking Earnie who has been superb for us, just saying you need to bear this in mnd before criticising the poor guy who plays up front with him . I can remember Thorne getting some ridiculous greif from guys who really didnt seem to understand the game.

With the best will in the world a lone striker cannot chase down everything. He may look
to you as though he's just stood there being a lazy b*stard but he isnt. Every now and then
we all need to draw some oxygen into the lungs

It was never the fact he couldnt handle it or he havent settled, just the fact of getting the right formation and service that suits him which every club has to do to get the goals out of a striker

Re: The Kenny Miller knockers!!!

No because I believed we would bring in a couple of other strikers to replace Chopra and Jay . Sadly the ones brought in are't fit to wipe their boots and Earnie is a joke . Miller can do a job and is a good player, but he's no Chopra

I agree about Earnie. He's been Malky's only poor decision in my eyes, unless he
was bought as an impact sub, which i cannot see Earnie signing up to.

As for Chopra? Kenny will score more this season for us than Chops will for
Ipswich, and he will lead the line better. My opinion

It's really going to get us no-where comparing a player playing for another Club really . Under Malky I think Chopra could have been electric more so with our better midfield this year, he and Miller could have been a quite brilliant partnership.

I doubt it, it was a signing to please the fans and it's totally backfired. We really need to get a decent striker in to help Miller on that I think we can all agree

Miller will do a lot more for this club this seaosn than Chopra did last year.

He got 11 goals in 37 appearances, I doubt he had many assists either. Millers workrate, link play and temprament are all better and he'll easily get more than 11 if he stays fit.

On top of all that Chopra was an areshole off the pitch with his gambling, drinking and general ignorance (I''ve heard that off quite a few people ), wheras Miller is a total pro - and that is malky's judgement not mine.

Score more Goals than Chopra did last year ?. I can't see it myself

Millers workrate, link play and temprament are all better and he'll easily get more than 11 if he stays fit.

No way is his work rate any better than Chopra , better link up player and at holding the ball but Chopra was an out and out striker and this could have been a dream partnership

On top of all that Chopra was an areshole off the pitch with his gambling, drinking and general ignorance

I only really care about what the players do on the Pitch and on the Pitch Chopra was pro and always run his legs off . I agree his a tosser off the Pitch but there again so on many of the Welsh Rugby players - It really about what they do on the Pitch that counts

As Chopra only scored eleven and Miller already has 6 then yes, Miller will score more.

Chopra's workrate was average, he'd chase a lost cause one minute, but then he'd be knackered. In fact I wondered last season if he was really fit. Miller plays up front on his own and recently has been covering a huge amount of space.

Finally - what happens off the pitch affects what happens on it. Good characters help the team, they play for each other -much more visible this year than last. Remember the pre-Boro fiasco last year and the times Chopra looked over-weight. Also, the young strikers Mason and Gestede will benefit much more from Miller as a role model than Chopra. The club couldn't wait to get rid of him in the summer, thats got to tell you something.

I like to see poof that Chopra was out on the piss the night before, otherwise it's all talk and if you listen to the talk he was one of 3 along with Whitts . If we listen to chatter then the likes of Darcy Blake love going on the piss too before matches even getting treated in Hospital because of his love of the good stuff , So shall we also get rid of Whitts and Blake too
I could never fault Chopra effort on the pitch and to make out Chopra was over weight is laughable and it wasn't just Chopra that failed to play against Boro but more or less the whole team.

The club couldn't wait to get rid of him in the summer, thats got to tell you something

How many Clubs couldn't wait to get rid of Craig Bellamy, yet most wanted him to stay at Cardiff never mind he wasn't the best roll model off the Pitch . I don't want to her the role model bullshit, because that only comes into play when it suits us

It's all about how they play on the Pitch that's why you get and earn the real respect

Whitts was never mentioned. Wheras Chopra himself was boasting about it on his twitter. As for the overweight thing well that came form plenty of people and for me he looked a lot less fit and sharp as he had previously. Thing is IF he had performed to the level he was capable of it would have been OK -but he didnt. Read his own words, his personal problems affected his performance -playing when he was injured, darting off to find out racing results instead of warming down, mind not on the job.

Notice you've given up on arguing about Miller scoring more goals than him

If you don't go for the role model and behaviour off the pitch then you aren't going to like our current manager, who insists on good behaviour - as i said, ultimately the way you behave and look after yourself affects your relationships with the other players, and your fitness and performance. Maybe if Chopra had looked after himself better then he would have got more than 11 in 37, which for the side we had last season, and a £5m striker was very poor.

I liked Chopra, I named my fecking dog after him  but he let himself (and us) down, both on and off the pitch last season, and I'm perfectly happy that we've got a more than adequate replacement in Miller (which is where this all started), and ultimately he will provide more goals, more assists and better performances than chops did last season.

i dont think Malky is going to stick with 4 - 5 - 1 all season. But I dont think
he has enough faith in Joe Mason to do a job for us every week yet. But the
right feller up there with him will take a lot of the pressure of Miller... and
he will score for fun then

Joe Mason was never going to be a hit like he is right now he could have been later but fairplay considering the weakness in our squad he performed the goods!

Hes not a in and out player but he can play some games! :D He will soon but hes young and we dont push his luck but hes got a lot to learn and we got be careful we have some great talent on our hands and need to use it wisely which MM is doing! :old:

Joe is about the same age as Sordell I think. But perhaps a season behind in his development
I think he's been brilliant fair play!!
