MAYBE IT IS DAVE JONES

Wed Nov 02, 2011 9:23 pm

Or because of him, I never ever imagined we could go to Derby just 3 days after Leeds and get a winning result up there.

Maybe I come to expect that it would be a game too far for a same 11ish to get anything near to a scoreline what we are seeing right now.

We are improving slowly, and showing consistency in our overall play, something we never did under DJ it was feast or famine

Ratcliffe has stated that Derby are down to the 'bare bones' - we are thrashing them really.

We have been down to the bare bones against Leicester and Southampton, yet we have
battled our hearts out in games like that.

Mackay has built up a superb team spirit in a very short time. Even Dave Jones supporters
would have to admit that when the chips were down for his sides - we generally lost!! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I was one of Dave Jones' biggest supporters and I have admitted tonight that I have come to expect us not to get results in a run of games like Leeds and Derby.

I'm proud of the team for a change.

I think they're all honest players and will get better as a team.

MM kicks every ball with them, similair to M O'Neill.

The only downside is the stewards curbing our enthusiasm :old:

I will never change my mind that if Dave Jones had been sacked 2 seasons ago (after the Preston debarcle) we would have had at least one season in the Premiership by now.

That said it is only November and whilst I acknowledge the great job MM is doing, I still think he should be kept on his toes so that come May we will really have something to crow about.

ahh come on Carl, i thought you were one of the few people left who respected what a good job Dave Jones actually did for us

everyone (myself included) obviously knows that it was time for him to go and Malky Mackay is proving that now because he is doing a better job than i could have ever imagined at the start of the season, but i still dont think there's any need to criticise a guy who gave alot to this club over his time here

ive given up on most people agreeing with that now, but i genuinely thought you were one of the few left who understood all that

Malky is the perfect guy for the job right now, Dave Jones had to go when he did, but just dont join in with the needless getting on his back, the jokes thread about him the other day was a joke in itself, he did a good job for us while he was here i think you know that really Carl

We won 11 games away under Dave Jones last season so we have a long way to go to match that but a great result tonight and a result i felt was coming really feel if we hadn't sat back at Elland Road we could have beaten them as well but 4 points from 2 tough games is a great return :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

DJ became our manager in 2005 when we were in the Championship and left in 2011 when we were still in the Championship.

Treading water would be the best discription of his 6 years in charge, the worst would involve making this club a laughing stock and getting a tag of being bottlers.

But his worst crime was squandering millions of pounds on gambling and drinking addicts whilst watching Swansea slide past us into the Premiership.

The man is a complete loser and is stuck in a dinasour age of management. Good f**king ridanace to him although the sponging b*stard is still raping us for £18,000 p/w which just about sums the parasite up.

Re: MAYBE IT IS DAVE JONES

Wed Nov 02, 2011 10:38 pm

David Marshall
Kevin McNaughton
Paul Quinn
Mark Hudson
Steven McPhail
Peter Whittingham
Craig Bellamy
Jay Bothroyd
Chris Burke
Michael Chopra

With two or three more signings, Malky Mackay would piss the Championship with this side!

With three or four more signings, Jones turned them into losers and bottlers

Re: MAYBE IT IS DAVE JONES

Absolutely brilliant, did not go tonight and missed the leeds game( first time I can remember I have missed two City games on the trot) and loved the result. Seeing Leeds lose tonight 5-0 at home proved how much we took out of them on Sunday and if Dave Jones was in charge could we have won tonight with the players and formation he would have picked I doubt it. Now the TEAM that Malcky will pick. we will give Palace a game on Saturday, I bet we can and will win, Malcky has team ethic that Dave Jones never had. Yes look at some of my post in the past ,I wanted DJ to stay and I now KNOW that I was wrong

Malcky Mackay blue and white army :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: MAYBE IT IS DAVE JONES

Maybe it was dave jones but maybe it was the players that was there at the time, don't forget this season we have a new looks team only a few left from dave jones. Manager can't be held responsible when everytime players play bad. But this is looking positive so far and have further my expectations so far. For lack of experience malkay is doing a wonderful job so far let's hope that everyone will still back him if we end up losing form.
