Kenny Miller suffers freak head injury against Barnsley

KENNY MILLER will need a hospital check-up to play in Cardiff City’s Carling Cup tie against Burnley after suffering a freak injury yesterday, writes Phil Blanche.

Miller opened the scoring in Cardiff’s 5-3 win over Barnsley before clashing heads with team-mate Ben Turner.

The Scotland striker was led off the field with blood gushing from a head wound after an incident which manager Malky Mackay described as a “comic cuts” moment.

Miller and Turner collided at a Peter Whittingham corner with the Scot coming off much the worse for wear.

“I still don’t know how it happened – it was like something out of comic cuts – but it was a 5ft 10ins player running into a 6ft 5in giant,” said Mackay.

“Ben was OK, but Kenny had to have stitches in a nasty cut on his head.

“The one person you don’t want to run into in our team is Ben Turner.

“The doctor will have to check him out before we decide whether or not he will be all right to play on Tuesday night.”

I saw him outside the ground - didn't look good with the bandage round his head.

Lets hope he's ok
