As its the next home game, next saturday :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Boo, Clap or nothing?? :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I do think there will be a mixed reaction on this..

Personally I will clap, dont know enough about the rumours of last season but he was good to cardiff and his tears in the play off final showed how much it meant to him :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

considering his off the field antics its what he did on the pitch for us where he stuck with us through good and bad and had loads of great moments which will be remebered by fellow city fans:

Going goal rampage in his first season signing for us in 2009/2010
Scoring first competitive goal at our ground!
Scoring a screamer against Wurzels with the celebration
Scored hat trick vs Plymouth
Scored 4 against Derby County
Scoring the winner against Jacks!
Scored against Wurzels in the FA Cup and the away match which was a great 6-0 win away!
Scored the only goal against Chelsea in the whole FA cup campaign out of all the team Chelsea played!
(Chelsea conceded one goal through the whole campaign!)
Scored a nice finsh against Donny at home (sounds weird but my first game without and adult and won 2-1 last minute!)
Scored in the play off semi finals and was key player and scored in the play off final

Scored the winner against Leeds last season and done loads more aswell on his loan spells years ago where he scored a hat trick against Leeds i think! :geek:

I would have clapped him loudly until the end of last season.
When he comes on next Saturday he is just an Ipswich player........no more , anymore.

Hope he aint nicking all the disabled parking bays in Ipswich?

He did the most unprofessional thing a pro can do . I for one wont be forgiving him but he certainly wont be boo'd by me.

Re: RECEPTION FOR CHOPRA

On the field I totally agree with the above comments and personally I use to worship the guy he was quality on his day but I felt city had done a lot for him over the years. I'm gutted to say this but Chops showed so much disrespect to our club and fans. From wat I remember chopra had no choice in his move the malaysians wanted him to leave which I fully supported. So I will not be clapping him and sounds awful as I did certainly have soooo much respect for him but he shat on us, so for this reason i will probably Boo him. :ayatollah:

Footballers are awed by the young that idolise them. They have a responsibility on and off the pitch as they are being watched 24 hours a day. That is the way it is and that does not go for just fottballers but all high profile individuals.

They like the high pay and they just love the attention when everything is fine and dandy. Therefore they can expect the scorn when they are responsible for their own bad behaviour. Thats the way it is and rightly so.

I don't suppose he would have wanted to leave the money and lifestyle he had here.
But at the end of the day he's a fat ipswitch player now so I will not waste my breath on the tw*t.

When he was on the piss he was not. Merson saw the ways of this life, cleaned himself up and proved then what a good football player he was. He had the bravery to go public about his problem and do something positive about it. I cant see the likes of Chopra being like that.

nonsense. he was on the piss and gambling throughout his whole career. the only thing he managed to kick whilst still playing was the gear.

back on the booze after living in a house with gazza at boro.

besides he was brilliant for arsenal and tgats when he was smashing all three of his vices

Re: RECEPTION FOR CHOPRA

No he was not. He left Boro for that reason alone. Dont assume he was becuase he was with Gazza. It is the main reason he got out so he did not fall for temptation.
