IMPORTANT NEWS FOR iPHONE USERS! - - UPDATE - -

OK - anyone running an iphone who wishes to Jailbreak it ASAP! Solution.....

You must have itunes update (firmware) 4.3.0, 4.3.1, 4.3.2 or 4.3.3 installed

to check this - go to settings>general>about on your phone - and check the Firm ware version halfway down the list (NOT the modem firmware version at the bottom)

Once you have confirmed you are running this firmware, You can jailbreak your phone - right now very easily:

Those of you running OLDER F/W versions than the ones above can update your phone in itunes click the update button once the phone has connected! (itunes normally tells you if there is an update available anyway!) Be sure to run a sync and back up before you jailbreak!

Using your iphones safari web browser - go to http://www.jailbreakme.com

and you will get a screen like this:


Simply click FREE/INSTALL and this will begin to install cydia (The JAILBREAK server that holds EVERYTHING you need! ) on your phone FOLLOW THE ONSCREEN INSTRUCTIONS! -

WARNING! make sure you have enough battery power on your phone to install your jailbreak! it takes around 10-15 minutes usually.

IMO - no, the 3G and 3GS are not being supported by apple now past 4.3.3 and iPhone 5 is rumoured to be released in Sept. Saying that though, if your memory is bigger than 8GB then I'd still do it - if not don't bother. That is not advice for you to not do it though. It is an opinion.

I think ill wait till my upgrade at the end of the year and get a better one then.
Cant wiat for it TBH as mine has gone shockingly g@sh recently, like the screen goes off randomly and i have to wait like 3 mins before it lets me back in, annoying if your i the middle of a call and want to end it or if your playing a game

A few guys in work have recently used cydia to jailbreak their iP4's and they seem chuffed. Ibwas looking to get an iPad 2 in August. Will they sell new ip2's with the new OS or will they all be ios4 and then upgradable via iTunes?

Depends on the build date of the ipad! Easily upgradable free in iTunes though.

P.s. You jailbreak to get Cydia not use it to jailbreak....

Sorry my bad. Thats what I meant. I don't know much about Apples OS. Not interested in an iPhone but do fancy an iPad. I've got a Blackberry for work and Android for personal. So my excuse for getting an iPad is because I NEED to have knowledge on all platforms for work

What you need is Installous (cracked app store) - firstly open Cydia go to changes once loaded (let the circle indicator at top finish) and then hit manage>sources>edit>add - then enter http://Cydia.hackulo.us/ - once that source has been added - save it, then go back to search in Cydia - and search and install : Source GUI, once that's done search and install : Installous 4 - it will require a restart - then you will have the Installous app store on your desktop.... Any probs - gimme shout

You need to check and add sources like bigbossrepo etc.

Look online for iPhone 4 sources.

You will still need to run a iTunes restore and then Re-jailbreak it this way mate. If you don't rely on an ultrasnow network unlock then just upgrade to 4.3.3 and follow instructions here!
