Losing weight and getting into shape!

Thu Jul 07, 2011 4:48 pm

This is almost the end of my second week on my diet and running.

Basically stopped all the crisps, biscuits, cakes, fat (especially saturated!) almost no sugar drinks etc etc haven't consumed much potato/chips.

Have run 3.5 miles every other night using iMapmyRun App (iphone) and ipod of course! done 7 runs and recorded each using the app (found that a pace of 11 minute miles is burning the most calories!) The first time I did my run it took me 43 mins - now I'm down to 32 minutes.

Anyway, the first week I did it I weighed in at 14st 7lbs and during that first week I brought myself down to 14st 1lb. I have now weighed myself this week and I am 13st 9lbs (6lbs a week - without comprimising my health and following a decent plan!)

I now expect the weight loss to slow down - as the first fortnight are usually the biggest losses, and Im considering doing some weights too, but I have to lose the beer gut I built up over last season! Looks a bit odd on someone that doesn't have fat anywhere else on their body!

2 months ago i weighed in at 14stone 13!!! (i know tell me about it)
now i'm down to 13stone 7pounds. bit more to go yet though :ayatollah:

when i was running i found bread to be the worse thing for putting on weight! ... i dont just mean white bread either. i cut out all bread and lost loads! ..... also dont count calories cause you can burn calories off, its the fat content thats hard to shift! ..... also dont get fooled by these products that say 20% less fat cause 20% less fat of what? does that mean it still as loads of fat in it but 20% less than before! ..... well thats my weight loss tips anyway and i went from being 13st 7lbs to a 10st 5lb long distance runner! :ayatollah:

the only way to lose your gut is by cutting out fatty stuff! ... the reason is the stomach area we use the less and does less exercise than the rest of the body which we use everyday doing everyday stuff. so thats why it stores fat much more cause we dont burn it off! ... i wouldnt worry to much about a little belly though cause most people have trouble there unless your a sit up freak!

Sit up freak I'll turn into then!!

Yeah i done it a while back! was 18 1/2 stone, and went down to 13 1/2

just cut out the crap and went running , the weight flew off and only took 7 months, started with a jog to the shops and fooked, to running 15 miles every other night! weight flew off :ayatollah:

I'm 13 stone of pure muscle, weighs will keep your metabolism high, after a while will be more beneficial than cardio, don't overdue it. Good luck to you, can still enjoy beers on a saturday no hesitation lad.

Cut out all bread :o :o what when you want beans on toast you just have "Beans" Or Egg on toast :o Can you have it on a waffle instead   And when you go to work and you have your Sarnies all that's in your lunchbox is Jam  . Is a whole tub of Pringles out because i just started to feel reel guilty, because whilst reading this thread i am munching on a box of those spicy Cheesy type ones whilst washing it down with a pint of Fosters. Would you say "That's a good call"?

BUT WHEN YOU STOP the weights, :old: :ayatollah: where dose that leave you?? flabby thats where.
As a paid fitness instructor, i would say body management is evrything, press up,sit ups know how to handle youre own body weight.
Runs, circuit trg, but most of all know your own limits, and aim to bust through them.
Set targets, carry on on eating, as long as you work hard.... but if you want to lose weight, then weight training is the last thing you should be doing.
