Merlin wrote:This is almost the end of my second week on my diet and running.
Basically stopped all the crisps, biscuits, cakes, fat (especially saturated!) almost no sugar drinks etc etc haven't consumed much potato/chips.
Have run 3.5 miles every other night using iMapmyRun App (iphone) and ipod of course! done 7 runs and recorded each using the app (found that a pace of 11 minute miles is burning the most calories!) The first time I did my run it took me 43 mins - now I'm down to 32 minutes.
Anyway, the first week I did it I weighed in at 14st 7lbs and during that first week I brought myself down to 14st 1lb. I have now weighed myself this week and I am 13st 9lbs (6lbs a week - without comprimising my health and following a decent plan!)
I now expect the weight loss to slow down - as the first fortnight are usually the biggest losses, and Im considering doing some weights too, but I have to lose the beer gut I built up over last season! Looks a bit odd on someone that doesn't have fat anywhere else on their body!

As a paid fitness instructor, i would say body management is evrything, press up,sit ups know how to handle youre own body weight.
Runs, circuit trg, but most of all know your own limits, and aim to bust through them.
Set targets, carry on on eating, as long as you work hard.... but if you want to lose weight, then weight training is the last thing you should be doing.
