Jay now wants to stay at Cardiff because no Prem club wants him.
His England cap went straight to his head and for the remainder of the season his was pi$$ poor. Jay showed this season why his career has always stuttered and started.
While I believe Jay has the talent, I also think he will always be an under achiever. For me its time to say goodbye and move on.

he can come stay here if he wants
I always back him, and the door will always be open
perhaps he had achange of heart, and after seeing swansea go up he wants to come and do the business!

Hes had a change of heart.
No one in the Prem wants him. They have all seen him pansy around and fall over like a baby since his England Cap.

Bothroyd deserves to be welcomed back and could have easily gone in january but decided to stay. to say no prem clubs are interested is rediculous bigger clubs than us would be bound to be interested in such a talent.

Typical of his kind of footballer! They let a good couple of games go to their head and think they are better than they are!! I think he should stay on though, he is one of the best strikers around if we get the best out of him!!

No club has ever offered Jay Bothroyd a new contract
Judging by his second half to the season we can see why
And now we can finally say "Look who's come crawling back

"

id love to see him back, top championship player on his day, even after his comeback from injury still popped up with moments of brilliance like his screamer against QPR,i still think he can do a job for us and with jones gone he may book his ideas up a bit knowing most managers wont put up with his petulance
watching all home and away games during the season i picked up on jays seemingly lack of fitness especially in the second half of the games rather than his commitment to the cause

perhaps the new manager will tell him not to run to the corner flag with the ball all the time

i'd rather him play for us than against us, so in that respect i'd love to see him back
Fri Jun 03, 2011 5:45 am
didnt he make a statement once saying jones had settled him down and brought out the best in him,
and i think there may have been articles in the papers too at the time saying words along the same lines,
under the wings of DJ he had developed into the player we all remember. so that in mind, would a new manager get the same results DJ did, also remebering that was pre "I'm A england capped player i am" and in my opinion, when it all started to go down hill for him

another problem that jay has got is that most potential clubs will know he was involved in the boro drinking scandal.
even though its been said that he wont drink alcohol the fact that he was in a nightclub 13 hours before one of the biggest games in the clubs season will count heavily against him

offer him aweek to week contract based on performances lets see if he wants to stay then

I was livid when i found out about the drinking scandal but i would have jay back in a flash he's been our best player since he's been here and though i agree the england cap turned his head, i would be chuffed if he signed a new deal. I think chopra is the one with problems how often have we heard of him f*cking back to newcastle straight after a game and always on the piss etc, and i think with chopra his problems are not something he's gonna be able to knock on the head without professional help

Jay is becoming Desperate, He will never make it Big time as even though without doubt he is one of our most gifted players, he has not got it mentally and thats why he does not play in the Premiership.

I think Jay has been brought down to earth with a bang. He thought the teams would be lining up to sign him, but they would rather spend 3-4 millon on other championship players. If he does come back I think he will have a point to prove. Also he knows the fans are divided on him here and he will have to give 100% to win them over again.

IMO if he came back it would be the last resort for him so don't expect any effort on his part. Sorry but that is my firm belief. His time here is up he took our Money,he took the Piss. Time for Jay to move on to pastures new.

I never read anywhere from Jay saying he was going anywhere.
His contract has expired, he's had a holiday and is now sorting out his future. Remeber was our top scorer and i for one always noticed how potent we were with him in the team as opposed to being out. Him and Bellers front two? YES PLEASE!!
Get rid of Chopra and pay Jay decent wage.

What just pay him more money in the hope he will have passion and effort installed into him. Bit like going to a Prostitute and expect her to show you love .

I must of forgot to read the internet the days the offers were flowing in and DJ was rejecting them.
I heard on transfer deadline day Jay was parked in his Ferrari on the hard shoulder of the M4 with his mobile in his hand on vibrate waiting for it to ring. When it never rang he started crying, got out of his car and fell down the banking.
