I wish him luck, he did his best, we had some great years - in the end he fell just short and its time for a change.

Quadsas has made it quite plain in another thread that he will be one of the idiots who would boo him if he returned as manager of another club

Absolutely.
Deserves the plaudits as one of our best managers ever and definitely the best since Scoular.
The FA Cup semi final was beyond all our wildest dreams, but we went on to make Wembley our second home with three games there in three years.
Our last two league finishes have been our highest for over 30 years.
He brought in the likes of Chopra, Johnson, Bellamy, Whittingham, Burkey, Kev McNaughton, Quinny and of course Eddie Johnson.
There've been bad times, but my God they were usurped by the utterly brilliant ones.
The time was absolutely right to move on as Jones' failure to improve on last season meant his tenure at the club became untenable, but for a man who's achieved so much despite having to deal with both Sam Hammam AND Peter Ridsdale is a big measure of the bloke (and, cynics would say, his wage packet, but now isn't the time for cynicism).
Thanks for some truly memorable afternoons/evenings at the football Dave, I for one bid you the very best of luck in whatever you choose to do now, though after the last six years I wouldn't blame you if you retired!!
Here's to Dave Jones

Took us far as he could but just couldn't get us over that final hurdle

but 3 visits to Wembley some of the best football i have seen played by a City team and some of the best players i have ever seen in a City shirt and if we could have held onto Ramsey and RogerJohnson we would probably of got promoted.
I wish Dave Jones and his family all the best where ever he ends up and certainly would not boo him if he came back with another team
Mon May 30, 2011 12:29 pm
best wishes dave you brought our club a long way all the best in the future
