" Still Silence "

Who do we see leading our ship? I have seen a depressed Gethin Jones speaking after the Reading game but nothing else official....last year we had the news that we would be going for it, never mind the play offs...automatic promotion....proper fighting talk..this season end we see Burke, Rae, Mathews and Bothroyd join our 7 loanees leaving and just SILENCE.

Its a bit concerning if you ask me.

Corky it is very concerning.

We need to hear a statement, either way.

All part of the "review"

Re: " Still Silence "

Is that his name...I have heard or seen so little of our CEO...I forgot his name :D

seriously the uncertanty is not helping anyone and only causes rumours to start.

Re: " Still Silence "

Wed May 25, 2011 8:35 pm

In all seriousness, I feel quite sorry for our CEO, he must be really frustrated, don't know how much guidance and direction he's getting from his paymasters, and at the end of the day, who are the paymasters, without a 51% share who's calling the shots, I bet his head is bumping. :old:

Re: " Still Silence "

Corky it is very worrying and I don't think the Malaysians have a clue what to do on the football front and have only got a Rugby man to help them, my thoughts and opinion.

Re: " Still Silence "

Wed May 25, 2011 8:38 pm

Only football man they have to turn to is DJ and he let them down.

Re: " Still Silence "

My worry this season was that it was shit or bust and my fear was with Jones in charge we would not make it to the promised land. For me Jones should have gone after Peterborough away 18 months ago and then definitely after the play off final. I can remember stopping at Strensham Services on the way home after Peterborough and city fans were walking around there like zombies, numb from what they had seen, Brazil first half and San Marino in the 2nd. It was clear to me then that Jones would never do it and indeed this season I always felt that if we achieved promotion it would in spite of Jones rather than because of him.

Due to Jones inevitable failure, I am very concerned that the Malaysians will think we have gambled enough and they will cut their loses and run.

Re: " Still Silence "

Wed May 25, 2011 8:52 pm

We deserve to know what's going on, and surely they have to tell us sooner or later.

Statement before the end of the week?

Re: " Still Silence "

I'm sure the malaysians and gethin are top blokes but let's face it, their football knowledge is very limited! In January when a lot of fans could see it going tits up, and serious questions needed to be asked, we were told by gethin and the malaysians to be patient , back Jones, he's doing a good job etc etc we knew it wasn't true then, we know it isn't true now! They've left themselves seriously exposed by their lack of knowledge on the gane, and on Cardiff city in particular! This seasonthey definitely need a football man on the board, whether it should be Sam I don't know but someone who knows the game needs to come in! DJ had way too much power this season and took the piss as a result!!

Suppose they can't say owt till WHU decide if they want DJ or not. A lot hinges on that decision.

18000 fans renewed their season tickets
Why should we be punished for supporting the City.
That's what will happen if DJ is kept on and given
a minimal budget.

What budget would you propose?

If he stays he should get a decent budget.
otherwise 18000 season tickets
wll become 7or 8000 the following season.

Like I've already said put him on gardening leave
sack Burton and make Ardley manager and give him a decent budget

The sign of a weak board.

Decisive action should be taken now.

If Jones thinks he has had it tough from us fans, he hasn't seen anything yet

Define "decent". Within turnover or in excess of?

Annis, do you possibly have a 'football man' in your mind who could come in, advise the Board and give this great club a kick-start for next season??

Or is it a load of sheeps testicles??

I f*cking shitting myself!

Clubs are already making signings for next season.

We don't need just 3-4 players. We need closer to 10! And not just 10 squad players! We have to rebuild the spine of the team!

When does pre-season start? 6 weeks?

Total f*cking shite!

So what about the British guys on the board of directors how come you never ever see them anymore doing anyrhing at CCFC , where's Borley these days ?? Im not convinced that VT has the financial clout he says he does and he's just using CCFC to springboard his gambling company in the UK when he gets the licence , lets be honest does the Malaysian public care about teams outside the prem league ? Arsenal are over there for pre season and I bet there's sell out crowds at the games .... no mention of CCFC in the media then Id imagine .

Paul

its only a week since we lost the reading match and the debriefing is still going on.
why should the malaysians be rushing to give out statements to pacify a few hundred messageboarders.
if they sacked dj today and he signed for west ham on the weekend the majority of this board would criticise them for not waiting and once again have a go about their lack of footballing knowledge.
when they have something worthwile to say im sure they will release a press statement.
remember very little transfer dealing gets done in june as players are away on their summer breaks so there is plenty of time for the malaysians to organise their strategy for the coming season.
after the major setback of not getting promoted do we really expect them to have sorted out a new manager and possibly chief executive within 7 days.

Excellent post. Sometime the clamour for change can lead to hasty decisions, as you say, no need to rush. Nothing can be gained by sacking Jones now. Lets wait for the dust to settle, the managerial merry-go-round may soon start with uncertainty at Villa, Blackburn & Everton (if Moyes goes to Villa).
Word has it that Bellamy has had a say on his thoughts on the set up, I've little doubts wheels are turning, maybe just not fast enough for some. :ayatollah:

Question; was Gethin Jenkins appointed CE by PMG soely to look after their [pmg's] interests?
What influence did the Malaysians have with his appointment??
Who exactly IS in control at CCAFC ???

Re: " Still Silence "

Thu May 26, 2011 7:21 am

Never a dull moment at ccfc always been the same its never easy.Lots of ifs and buts and nobody seems to be leading us properly having a rugby man in charge what the hell is all that about.

Hope it all works out but the longer the uncertainty goes on the longer we left in the dark about new signings and we will miss the boat on players etc.

GET IT SORTED JENKINS and fast

I'd like to think I can see both sides of the various points raised, and yes not really expecting earth shattering knee jerk changes, but a bit of rallying the troops type of statement would help us at these troubled time, mind you the Jerks losing the play offs will help.

Personally I would love to see TG saying something along the lines of we are disappointed but we have not lost our resolve or commitment to get this club into the Premiership and we are in it for the long run and we are taking positive steps to address the shortcomings that have been apparent.

A little thank you to the supporters for their loyalty and patience and their commitment to the club shown by the record numbers of season tickets sold etc.

It wouldn't have hurt and it wouldn't have cost anything to get something along those lines out to the fans. :old:

I agree Gwyn especially when you consider how much hype and attention CCFC always gives to its " Family Stand " supporters , does the other 3/4 of the stadium matter to them ? Do they try and work out why there are so many empty yet paid for seats in their beloved Family Stand most match days ?

i agree with you here gwyn but in a few more days when they know where they are going with managers, budgets etc i would expect a statement exactly along those lines.
Until then the most patient fans in the country will have to wait a bit longer
