HERES THE REASON TO MANY OF YOUR VARIOUS

Sun Apr 03, 2011 9:49 pm

Questions regards the actions of Cardiff City Staff regarding everything the majority complain about, the changes, etc etc etc Carl summed it up in his update - the reason too why " old fans" were edited from the filming footage. The malaysians dont want any of that riff raff because,

" The club are hopeful that there will be further investment coming as part of these visits and the hope is to build Cardiff City as the number one British team throughout Malaysia."

ITS f**k ALL TO DO WITH THE COMMUNITY THESE DAYS FELLA'S - IT'S ABOUT THEIR PRESTIGE IN THEIR HOMELAND.

THATS WHY IT'S NOT THE SAME ANYMORE THE LOCALS ARE NOT WANTED AS ITS NOT THE RIGHT IMAGE.

Same as the Academy set up , quick enough to put one together there and import players over to here , even though the one here is run like a shambles instead of sorting this end ( they got the fans chipping into young guns here!) they are quick enough to lay the investment their side of the water .

They are using everybody as stepping stones , setting up their Malaysian corporote dream , its going to become a franchise club quicker than you know it , they dont give a rats arse about any welsh/cardiff tradition , they want to eradicate the old way and go forward the Malaysian way,

Will the last person standing please turn the light out.

Absolutely correct, but what other options did we have last summer?
With the premier league the game isn't about just the local fans any more, Leeds always point out their worldwide support.
So do we want premier league football or not?

Look how much encoragement was given to supporters to take along malaysian flags by Welsh Directors.

They know the big plan but they get their dough back.

I would rather have the tradition and history of the Club than watching Premiership football with a plastic club and team like Cosway FC, to be honest between the 2 i would rather be back in the basement.

I suspect one of the motivations investing was to promote Cosway within the UK.

reading up on Cosway, seems views on it are fairly mixed...

Maybe im reading it wrong but that sounds positive to me to the number one British team throughout Malaysia. What an extra income that could be

How can anyone criticise the Malaysians or any outside/overseas investors? The wealthy indigenous Welsh business population don't give two fecks about the club and it's tradition, other wise they would put their money where their mouths are! All the local business community seem to want to do is make a return on a limited investment, all small minded.

Please don't tell me it's down to the malaysians that the image of the club and it's supporters have become sterile, that's been happening for years, mainly down to the Rugby loving PMG involvement. I would hope that if anything, the Malaysians bring some of that Far Eastern passsion and enthusiasm into the club and it rubs off on the match day experience. I'm not sure how the Malaysian supporters are at their own games, but if they are half as passionate as others in that area such as Japan, then it would improve our support by 100% :ayatollah:

Its very positive when you consider globally Cardiff being compared to Man Utd , Liverpool , Celtic and Rangers :ayatollah:

just out of curiosity Daya...? no meaning to offend - what are your views on the Hammers moving to new Olympic Stadium?

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised that once that is done to see Gold and Sullivan look to sell the club to rich local or overseas investors ? What do most hammers fans think about this - how are Gold and Sullivan looked upon ? Are WHU heading the same way as Cardiff once they move as they will need to attract more fans to the ground and obviously that will mean swaying local and neutral fans that WHU are the team to follow so will be keen to leave their reputation behind?

Sometimes I miss Ninian Park but without the new stadium I think we may have financially been the Pompey of the championship and would have been relegated to league 1  I know some will say that we wouldn't have had the debts associated with the new build but we already owed 24 million and also our capacity was going to be reduced due to the standing rules and no one would have been interested in buying us. Sam knew that hence why he was committed to moving.

I understand some of the things you are pointing out BUT Blackpool have shown we the fans and our club don't have to "sell our souls" when you get in the premier!
It is down to us the fans to make the atmosphere and I think if we can't even enjoy and make any atmospshere in our current position then I dread to think what it will be like if we have an average season or are struggling!

I still find that idea of taking Malaysian flags to games a bit stupid. Why??? We're not Malaysian!!!... Yet! :D

Have to agree!!! The Fred Keenor Statue Appeal has had virtually no support from big Welsh businesses yet when the WRU wanted a bust built of an old administrator everyone bent over themselves to contribute!! No matter what we will always be based in Cardiff and its up to us to help retain our roots as a Welsh club but at the same time lets welcome the potential of being a big club in Malaysia as that can only be a good thing for us!!

Your probably right they are probably heading the same way , doesnt mean i have to like it, the only prayer is that it doesn't, bad enough happening at Cardiff , let alone West Ham!

Sam knew that hence why he was committed to moving. With the money now in the game a move is often the only alternative but its the way the tradition is carried over to me is the important factor , at CCS that has not happened especially with egg chasers involved and a board of Malaysians not knowing the history and tradition of the Cardiff Fan and more interested in the Malaysian way and their own people.

I understand some of the things you are pointing out BUT Blackpool have shown we the fans and our club don't have to "sell our souls" when you get in the premier! Blackpool have kept their tradition and have a board of locals interested in football until now anyway , especially when promoted. Cardiff are going the Cosway/Malaysian route , a good example all the goings on in Malaysia with Academies etc, you dont see Blackpool doing that.

Theres the problem though when you have dispelled and dispersed the hard core followers for the newbies, the newbies stop going and the hard core are dispondent because the way they have been treated.

Spot on 2blue it is very positive news and something we should all welcome. I saw TG outside the main entrance of the Stadium after the game on Saturday saying goodbye to the Malaysian guest yet he still found time to speak to ordinary fans walking past.

No doubt in my mind that TG is a fan of the club and is so approachable to the ordinary fans more so than any other previous Chairman of the club.

I think we have a really exciting future ahead of us as fans and I for one cannot wait. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Blackpool might not be a very good example. Owen Oysten, the majority shareholder is a convicted rapist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Oyston

:(

Like the changes or loathe them without the Malaysian input we were going bust.

The stadium may have a bit less allure for the traditional, but the kids love it , the family stand is worlds apart from the old one- and they are the future for the club.

Thanks for the reply Steve. :ayatollah:
I guess we have to hope that Steve Borley (as he is a fan as well as a director)continues to be involved to make sure they understand our culture as much as we need to understand their ways and culture!

This is a great opportunity for the club to get to the Premier, raise our profile Worldwide and hopefully rid some of the debt we have accrued along the way and if we can get the atmosphere for every game the same as Leicester and Swansea last season then that would just about be perfect!
