WERE INVOLVED NOW IN LIBYA, Why ?

Today Hundreds off people were shot at in Syria and at least 25 people Massacred, But is there Oil there for Us, if there is then it wont matter to Our MP's sending our British Troops to die there

I dont like the fact that britain are always one of the first nations on the list
we rely heavily on other countries ten years down the line if we fall out with an ally
we would be screwed we haven't many of our own WOMD ,

they dont care what happens here as its not them who will be left to pick up the pieces

Religion will have a big part to play in this. If we go out to Syria it could spark a world war. The Middle East vs The West, then the russians will have a little bitch and taunt but wont do anything again for a while until they then attack Georgia when our army is over stretched. Another totally wrong conflict that we have become involved in .Wish the people in power would show more concern to our country's pensioners and other countries of the world where conflict and oppression has gone on for years but have no oil reserves .No doubt that more of the nations young men and women will return terrible physical and mental issues ,to a country that shows them no respect once they leave the forces .Also more tension will be created between our different cultures ,fuelled by the press .

It is all about oil but I haven't got a problem with that this country like the rest of the developed world can't function without it that's the reality without oil we are all f#cked

I agree Blue Path it's no good moaning it’s only about 'oil' unless we are all willing to live without it and I remember what that was like in the 1970’s with power cuts and a 3 day week.

Hopefully in the next 50 years alternatives will be found (hopefully more green energy such as solar panels and wind farms) so we do-not need to rely so heavily on imported crude oil from the middle east.

But until then we need to make sure the supply lines are kept open. I feel for the people of Syria (plus Bahrain and even Saudi Arabia) but we have to look after ourselves first and foremost in these uncertain times.

Your spot on Tony, people need to realise if major oil producing countries come under the control of Muslim extremists and they stop supplying us with oil it won't only mean we have to walk the kids to school instead of driving , the whole country will come to a standstill industry would grind to a halt in no time, and anyone who thinks it wouldn't is living in cloud cookoo land, so they should think before the next time they slag off the west for trying to protect our supply of oil

friend of mine was meant to be taking his platoon or whatever they call them to afgarn but have been told that they will be going to Falklands , Argentina have doubled there defence budget and are building up there navy,trouble is on the horizon

Aren't the Falklands also a big refuelling point for the armed forces in the region? Not to mention the scientific work.

The thing I don't get is that people in Britain say America are always invading countries for their own interests yet the British are possibly the worst. Afghan was oil, Libya is oil, Falklands yet again oil.

It really disgusts me that we invade these countries for our own benefits, the British Empire has always been heartless and greedy bastards in my opinion.
