Leeds United My day !!

After our Forum piss up went tits up last month several on this board decided to make up for it with a all day er starting at the Prince of Wales starting at 1.30. The Forum members was Milly, Fishy, Chippy, and PtB which was the first time i have met him and he is a real Gent and look forward to when he comes back down from bonny Scotland next time. A couple more lads was also present and the drinking was beginning. Fishy to his wisdom and bravery despite looking only 6 decided to go to the bar and buy a lager with his pocket money and promptly got thrown out class Billy. Conversation was mainly about DJ and with a Mix of fan and not a fan discussions was lively. But the main talking point was the challenge thrown down by Fishy to Milly!! A drinking competition on the coach to Stoke with me as referee now as i see it the pressure is definitely on Milly because if he gets beaten by a 6 year old then he will never let it down , but Fishes claim to drink 4 times his own body mass in Carling is going to be interesting .

So after Fishy being asked to leave the POW we head for the gatekeeper and make sure we keep Fishy away from the bar and hide him well away and we await the arrival of the lovely Claire and Placid Casual who was always half hour away but in reality never was. We was also awaiting the arrival of my mate Joe who until recently lived in Scotland so i asked PtB if he new him and Milly started laughing "do you now how big Scotland is Nukes ?" He had a point but as soon as Joe walked in he recognised PtB so to you Milly .We are now still waiting for Placid Casual but he is still half hour away so we decide to head to Grangetown to the Cornwall. So we decide to walk. Now let me say now ok i drink in Canton not Grangetown and have never been to the Cornwall but end up walking in front with PtBs mate and i thought well i am obviously walking in the right direction because no one said hey where are we going. Now Milly and Claire who new where it was thought i was taking a short cut and we end up doing a sponsored walk all around Grangetown passing everywhere except the Cornwall and eventually end up at the Ninian.

At the Ninian we find Placid Casual who was no longer half hour away my personal opinion he was to nervous on meeting Claire!! Also there was Cardiff City Culture, and his lovely Wife, Annis, Carl, etc and again the conversation was centered around Dave Jones. So Off to the ground we go and walking in straight line was getting a bit more difficult, when we get into the ground the Leeds fans was in good voice. Dave Jones had eventually changed the back four but still left in Naylor but to be fair to the Lad he played well. Mcnaugton played centre back with Paul Quinn being recalled after accusing his boss of liking his sexual partners of being rather on the young side but Quinn played well as well and i hope he stays in the side.

We shoot into the lead with Bellamy which silenced the Leeds Army but soon got back into the groove with chants of "Peado" and "He came to Wales to shag your kids" which fair play we laughed at that our supporters was there usual self at home quiet. In the second half Snodgrass pulled Leeds level but we was not to be done when that man Michael Chopra popped up with the winner to send City fans into raptures and send everyone home except the Leeds fans in our end home happy.

Yesterday was a great day with great company and i wish to thank all the forum members and there guests for making it a right laugh. Now bring on Stoke with that drinking competition between I drink like a Fish Fishy and Milly. Let the fun begin.
I would also like to mention ,with ten minutes remaining the fans had started to leave WHY ? has any one else noticed as well it is always the same fans that do this. The game can still swing either way so WHY ? If you are one of these fans on here please explain why!! Would you leave the Cinema before the end of the film ? it must be disheartening for the players as well, but when we accuse the players of not acknowledging us its a bit rich from these fans to disrespect the players. Rant over.

I would also like to mention ,with ten minutes remaining the fans had started to leave WHY ? has any one else noticed as well it is always the same fans that do this.

Between them CCFC and cardiff city council have done a great job of making it as difficult as possible to drive a car to the match.

Stuck in traffic before and after matches watching empty buses go past you in the dedicated 'green' lanes can be frustrating.
New residents parking restrictions make it almost impossible to park anywhere near the ground.
Getting out of the stadium (family end) takes ages because of the narrow isles.
The CCFC car park will not allow cars to leave immediately after the match. Instead you have to wait for the exiting crowds to clear. This doesn't enourage you to wait until the end.

If I leave at the final whistle it will take me an hour to an hour and quarter to get home. If I leave 2 minutes before the end it takes me approx 20 min. Now normally that's oK I don't mind and I'll watch the game but -

Sometimes (Saturdays) I may going out straight after the match so I either don't go to the match or leave early.
Sometimes at night games my kids could do without getting in at 11:15pm when leaving a little early could get us in by 10ish
Sometimes the day after a night game I'm working away (2 or 3 hours drive at 6am the next morning) and I could do without getting in at 11:15.
Sometimes at night games I go straight to the ground from work so having started at 8 in the morning and working til 6pm I could do without the aggravation of leaving the stadium when everything is at its busiest.

There are many others reasons like bus connections, train times or even first to the bar, but I think the point is that for many, missing the last few minutes is a fair trade off when the easier option may be to stay at home (as I did last night)

I had to get back to Central as my last train was at 10.34 so i coulden't even get another pint. Wished i could of stayed Minty give us a shout the next time you are down. Coz another few drinks are can be consumed
