SO NOW IS THE TIME

For the malaysians to back DJ.

They have told DJ that he has to be in the top 2 in January to have money to spend.

Dave, despite many negative comments you have achieved what was requested, so hopefully you will be backed as promised.

Carl, the Malaysians are business men, very good ones at that. They are not going to give money to someone who might waste it. I would say at this moment that is what they think DJ will do. Just look at what is happening now after all the support they have given him so far.

We are already in talks with 2 players according to dj on BBC sport.they should be signed early Jan.

Only a foolish businessman would give Jones money to spend.

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

Tue Dec 28, 2010 7:56 pm

Whatever people say about his bad form, lack of Plan B's, distain for the fans or an obnoxious attitude (all of which I agree with) DJ is still the man to take us to the premiership this season on lose his job trying.

We cannot change the manager now, it can cause too much upheaval and also give another manager a period of bedding in which would INCLUDE the rest of this season WITHOUT the neccessity for success.

Let's get behind DJ until the end of the season. There has been progress year on year ending with the play-offs last season, he knows the score, he knows what he has to do and this is the first season he may have the cash to extend the squad whilst in a position of strength and make no bones about it, 2nd position, with a game in hand IS a position of strength.

We may not make it, BUT one thing is for sure calling for a new manager is NOT going to guarantee promotion this season. DJ has a better chance than someone new.

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

People are calling for a new manager but if that happens that's the transfer budget blown. Compo for jones and presumably compo for a new manager who is at a club already. Long term I think we need a new manager to take us forward, however given where we are I think a left back and centre back who are good enough to command a place in the team will pretty much guarantee us promotion regardless of the manager.

I disagree. Get a new manager in now, he will have his own ideas of the players
he wants, his own ideas of how he wants the team to play. We DESPERATELY
need fresh ideas. Lets say a manager takes five games to bed in... well we have
only won 1 in 9 under Jones, who's to say we wont lose the next few while he's
pontificating over who to buy and where to play them. After January we will be
fucked if Jones doesnt get it right, and hes shown no signs of improvement. The
bulk of the squad just dont look arsed. QPR will go up. They have the attitude and
the team spririt, as well as a manager with a bit of drive. That leaves one place.
On current form we will be relegated that is an incredible but true statement with
the players here. If keeping Jones was purely a business decision, the Malaysians
would fire him because he's failing on all levels. His compo he can have next year
when we are in the Premiership.

That is too much upheaval this far into a season. I can understand it if we were in the relegation places as desperate times need desperate measure, but when have you known a team change their manager with a transfer window opening and being in 2nd place?

5 games to bed in is not a guarantee to success, what if it takes longer or the upheaval totally derails the squad?

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

Tue Dec 28, 2010 8:34 pm

i dont think changing the manager at this stage is a good idea its not dj playing on the field and failing its the players and all though we have the best 1st team in the league once you look past that theres not a great deal to pick from really and yes some of dj,s player choices are poor but some are fantastic so lets see what happens next month and we will then judge him come the end of the season imo :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. I am fed up with the attacks on DJ - he isn't perfect but no manager is. We are all entitled to our opinion, but the high number of people making negative statements about DJ on this forum is really getting on my tit.

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

Tue Dec 28, 2010 8:49 pm

There will be two or three managers sacked in the Premiership over the next few weeks.
Too much money involved for failing clubs up there to stand still. So they weild the axe.
Why not here? Remember... even if we go up we will owe Jones another £2m in bonuses.
Sack him now, he's failing. Give the players a lift. We desperately need promotion this
year

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

This season is [i hope] DJ's last chance to do it with City. My heart wants him to do it, but my head keeps telling me that he won't.

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

Tue Dec 28, 2010 8:58 pm

I think every Cardiff City fan's heart says he will but there cant be many city fans with a brain cell who believe in their right minds that he will take us up. Even the die hard Jones fans must be coming to the conclusion that he just doesn't have it in him - sad but true.

Again, because we are 2nd, managers may be sacked in the Premiership, but do you think one of the top 4 currently in the Champions League places will change their manager, even Man City?

taffyapple wrote:Remember... even if we go up we will owe Jones another £2m in bonuses.
Pittance, if we go up, we can even afford to give him an extra £800k, get rid and start the Prem with a new manager.

taffyapple wrote:Sack him now, he's failing. Give the players a lift. We desperately need promotion this

How do you know it will give the players a lift, when a new boss comes in there is usually a period of uncertainty. I psychology circles, it's called Norming, Storming and Forming. Getting to forming is not always an easy process.

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

Tue Dec 28, 2010 9:30 pm

We're only second by the skin of our teeth. If the likes of Warnock, Billy Davies or Paul Lambert were managing us, I feel we would be romping away with this league. Instead we're stuck with the Scouse Git.

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

Tue Dec 28, 2010 9:43 pm

We are second in the championship at present. Lets sack the manager he's useless, we should be top and not lost a game.
How dare you Dave Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have a team to win the league and get us promoted and you are only second!!!!!!!!! only second!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is absolutely not good enough, we pay our money each week and you have cheek not to win every game. We have a good craic each week, a couple of beers with the boys and then we don't always win.
I was shocked when I checked the table and found we were second. I know only the team that is top goes up and the next four play off, surely we will win if we go to Wembley again.

Re: SO NOW IS THE TIME

Tue Dec 28, 2010 10:47 pm

Carl, When in January will they pay?
Like all good business men they leave paying the bills to the very last minute. There are a few games in Jan to go.

I agree, second place is a disaster, I am distraught, we should be winning ALL our games and have a 30 point lead.

Dave jones has to close out the season in charge, he's taken this far. People need to stick by dave jones and trust him based on what he has done for the club, where he has taken us, where he will take us.

The next 2 games are key. Confidence needs to be restored to manager, players and fans. Results needed and fast i'll take 4 points from next 2.

A Cash injection and new players in january a must.

It's just awful isn't it, and I suspect we'll probably still be second after next Saturday. Desperate days.
