He would be great for us, if he could stay fit and avoid injury, unfortunley woodgates career has been lack of fitness and injury :ayatollah:

Re: Player in talks

If he came here and stayed fit would be great him and Riggot were at Middlesborough together :ayatollah:

Re: Player in talks

I wouldnt mind him on a pay as you play.

Re: Player in talks

Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:09 pm

We need quality at the back. But Jones had better make f*cking damn sure
Woodgate is fit! we dont need another "hes a month away from match fitness" load
of old bollocks

Re: Player in talks

Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:33 pm

No Riggott today??

Woodgate will be a MASSIVE gamble

Re: Player in talks

Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:38 pm

Woodgate would be awesome when fit. But how long would he be here, and how many games would he play?

Re: Player in talks

Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:46 pm

If it's on loan we definatly shouldn't get him, unless we're sending Koumas back. No point in having more than 5 loan players, it's just a waste of wages.

Re: Player in talks

Radio Cymru just said that there is no truth to the rumour and that he would be a bad signing because he has been out for a year...

What do they know? He is absolute quality when fit and he is fit now, you can't have the attitude of "no we can't sign him he's been out for a year" otherwise players that get injured would never play again! He is quality and would be awesome for us.

I looked them up and you don't want to know :P

Premiership 06/07
Riggot 7 Games
Woodgate 36 Games

Riggot came on as sub to play with Woodgate at 1-1 the match, middlesborough LOST 3-1 home to Aston Villa
http://www.middlesbrough-mad.co.uk/rprt ... ndex.shtml

Premiership 07/08
Riggot 10 Games
Woodgate 16 Games

Woodgate and Riggot LOST 3-1 AWAY to Manchester City
http://www.middlesbrough-mad.co.uk/rprt ... ndex.shtml
Woodgate and Riggot LOST 2-0 HOME to Chelsea
http://www.middlesbrough-mad.co.uk/rprt ... ndex.shtml

Obviously doesn't tell the whole story, Woodgate only had one full season's worth of games and Riggot was clearly struggling throughout both. Both had good performances apart but didn't get the luck on the three times they were together.

Hi Carl. Nice to meet you today.

We could have had Vidic and Ferdinand today and still gone down, we were comprehensively outplayed.

Great, another injury prone player.

If Harry didn't think he was good enough to play for Spurs, he would sell him to another Premiership club.
He believes Woodgate is still good enough. So lend him to a leading championship team who have a crap defence and he will get game time ( I wonder who that could be?). Job done, all happy bunnies.

we must be behind qpr in the stakes to sign him as they are london based and also have the financial backing to pay his wages

Steve I don't think QPR need him after watching their game today.

Rumours that Boro are after him as well.

why cant Jones bring in players that are good enough without being injured for the past 12 months, instead of players for a couple of games with a big IF over there heads,we sign woodgate for rest of the season and he will be on his summer hols by end of Jan cos he's injured again plus he wont be able to play 2 games in a week , if thats the case we may as well go and get owen hargreaves to keep him company.what a crock of shit we are gathering, koumas, riggott, drinkwater, keogh and now woodgate they will need to start hiring a mini bus to go to physio

He isn't fit now.

If he was fit now, he'd be playing in the Spurs first team given numerous injuries and now Kaboul's suspension.

He's had a number of long term injuries that nearly ended his career. Redknapp wants him out, at a lower standard of football, to see if he can play again. Whilst we pay some of the wages...

He may be quality - if fit. He may never be the same player again. Either way, we are risking our season on a central partnership who have bbothh been plagued with long term injuries.

You can't see a problem with that? Loan him, loan window closes, ooops, he's injured, we're back where we started.

He can't play for spurs because he isn't in their 25 man squad ;)

Meh, that too  I thought they'd named him in it?

Who thought up that ridiculous rule anyways?
