Vince I asked on FB what benefit does the ST holder get? Is this going to open up the debate to the club for a ticket exchange scheme?

I know many couldn't get there because there were no trains running and a lot of our fans are from the vally areas....

But I do have one question: Is it likely that some (possibly a significant number) of supporters have, in reality, bought their season tickets in advance of the possibility of Premiership football and will only attend the 'glory' matches this season?

I certainly hope not....but it would be interesting to see where the missing season tickets are and if those missing do so on a regular basis

Just a thought.....

Vince, why should a season ticket holder contact the club ???

Surely its the season holders perogative whether they turn up or not

IE the season ticket holder has shown his committment by purchasing a season long ticket ?

I would ask where were these 20,000 extra fans when we were playing in the old 4th division ?

For the most part Moo Cow I fully agree with what you are saying.

However, I think Vince is saying there is an option to contact the club to resell your ticket if you know you can't make a game such as the one coming up against Leeds United.

When season tickets go on sale they are always marketed on the back of the huge discount you get for buying up front. Therefore it is still cost effective to buy a season ticket even if you know you will miss 5 to 10 games per season. So I can't understand why the club are so baffled by the non-attendances, espeically when you factor in the freezing cold weather as the explanation to me is pretty dam obvious.

May be the club could offer loyalty points based on the number of games you actually attend (or return your ticket for resale) which could be used for discounts in the club shop?

On a brighter note the Premier seats looked a lot better, I counted nearly 4 blocks which looked at least 90% full

2 of us season tix holders traveled down from aberystwyth yesterday,we try to attend as many games as we can. if 1 of us can't go we use that season ticket to take a mate or 1of our sons, but i'd have no problem contacting the club to re-sell my seat if we couldn't use them.. :ayatollah:

Believe it or not there are actually a lot of city fans who live away and cant make every home game...i was there yest but have missed a few...yest was an exception due to xmas many people do family things...i dont go to every home game and dont think its a big deal ive paid my money...but i did go to boro when only a few hundred turned up no doubt due to the length of journey...its the same for us guys every home game is a big journey so we cant do em all unfortunately!!!

Re: " NO shows Season Ticket Holders Today "

My boy and I are one of the "No show". First match I have missed, really ill with flu.
I gave myself until 11:00am to see if I felt better before I phoned family and freinds to give them offer of free tix.
Nobody wanted them because of short notice. I am not sure telling the club this late would have helped but I wanted to give myself till the last moment to see if I felt stronger because I paid for the ticket out of hard earned money.

Anyway I get your point but I will not be making a habbit out of it thats for sure. Great win City :ayatollah:

Re: " NO shows Season Ticket Holders Today "

I was there yesterday, boxing day games is all part of xmas for me and the ground looked almost full. I did notice a few spaces in the family stand and the away support was half full. I cant see where these 5000 empty seats are :o :o :o .
Anyway,i for one am a platinum ambassador and so is my partner, but due to work commitment we both find it hard to do mid week games. We have both paid for our ST in advance so why should the club have any right to sell our seats which have been paid for?
For example
If one of my tenants, who pay their rent a month in advance goes away on holiday for 2 weeks,do i rent the property out while there away ??????? NO i dont think so. They have paid for the right to use that property,if there or not, just like us with our seats.

If you go often fella then give me a shout, I live in Lampeter and travel down to nearly every game. I was hoping to set up a car share last season but not enough people travel down to our home games.

Re: " NO shows Season Ticket Holders Today "

Its all about supply and demand, when the club gets into a position where the demand is outstripping supply on a regular basis, then they will take action in the form of offering those season ticket holders who arent attending an incentive such as discounts on future season ticket purchase for every time they offer their match ticket to the club for resale. This could be done now, however, our club is never that organised!

Re: " NO shows Season Ticket Holders Today "

My money, my season ticket, my perogative to stay away. Can not understand why it is such a talking point when the tickets have already been bought and paid for.

I actually gave up my level 4 season ticket just before Christmas so that I could get my daughter one in the family stand for Christmas. Her first game and we decided to dtay with all the family on Boxing Day as we were having too good a time. Those days you CANNOT miss for any football game. :D

If we are heading for a sell out like Coventry they are more than happy to resell your seats as long as you cancel, not sure you get any money back though, but personally I don't care i do it for the fans and the club not for me, but appreciate and respect those who have a different opinion to me.

Vince Alm We average about 2000 no shows a game david. Weather illness and people away on holidays or visiting its always the same why people who know they can't make the game let the club know they can't make it I don't understand

Vince Alm Andy no benefit its all about helping other city fans. I'm the sort of person who is not in it for me I'm the sort that helps and if I can't make a game I would gladly allow the club to resell my ticket and pocket the money. Many other people have a different view so I only appeal to the supporters who have the same view as me, let's get as many people in the ground as possible.

Andy FS -Taf Vince I agree about bums on seats in the ground, makes for a better atmosphere around for everyone. Maybe the club should make this clear for the ST holders so that we can do this, I for one was not aware that this could be done :( Keep up the good work mate.

Donna Karen Brocklebank Vince, Steve and I didn't take the 3 boys as we thought it would be way too cold for them to sit through 2 hours in below freezing conditions. We didn't tell the club as in the past when we've done that they've said that they can't resell child tickects to adults so we didn't bother yesterday. sorry about that if it's lost someone else the chance of going to the game.

Vince Alm Ironically it was families who struggled yesterday because they couldn't get seats together. No problem Karen its only the odd game it happens thats why in the past they have probably said no

I think to get a crowd of nearly 25,000 is bloody brilliant on a boxing day when there is no public transport IMO.

That's the point - we didn't. Mind you with the traffic delays getting in probably a good job 5k didn't turn up or would have missed kickoff - what was the cause of the hold up's? Traffic light signalling seemed not to be sequenced right for the game?

BluebirdBaz, your reason is perfectly acceptable and I sincerely hope all was ok in the end....The issue is the number of tickets that are rarely used....for ANY or MOST games.

There is a seat near me (117) that has not been used this season but when we asked if it was up for grabs we were told NO....which begs the question "Where is its occupant??"

Again, there may be genuine reasons for MOST matches, e.g. he/she may go to sit near some friends (the segregation of friends who had sat together for years was IMO a huge issue when the new stadium as opened) BUT surely there have been one or two games where a near sell-out has dictated that the 'other' seat must have been sold and, therefore, the season ticket holder would HAVE to return to his/her designated seat ASSUMING THEY WERE IN ATTENDANCE?? But again the answer is NO....not a hint that someone is attending

In THOSE circumstances it WOULD IMO be both fair and prudent for the club to contact the season ticket holder solely to find out IF they are attending any given match and are able to sell that ticket on....even if it means paying a commission to the season ticket holder. As the season nears its finale, the number of bandwagon jumpers will increase and (desite my natural instincts to say feck 'em) the club should sieze on the opportunity to fill the stadium and make a little extra cash from it too!!

Afterall, we (the season ticket holders) have a GUARANTEED anti-inflation ticket price freeze for the next few years and if that's the ONLY thing some of us do to help then I cannot see it as a problem

I agree with Vince, if I couldn't make a game I'd have no problem phoning the club to let them know and if they want to sell my seat to someone else so what I won't be using it.
