Rubin Colwill should be back for Charlton, Rubin will train this week.



Providing an injury update on the First Team squad, BBM:



“Isaak Davies will be out for longer than we thought, looking at October another 3 weeks.”



“Dylan Lawlor is making really good progress. If he trains fully this week he should be ok.”



“Will Fish is slightly behind Dylan and looking at October.


“Calum Chambers is still not close to returning. He has ongoing knee, neck and back issues so his is more complicated. “

About Charlton Athletic

Charlton are in their second successive season in the Championship, having been promoted from League One via the play-offs in 2025.

Season up and running 3-1 win

Charlton have not won for 4 games and were recently hammered 4nil by Stoke

Cardiff to Win 3-1

Id love bbm to change it up a bit for this game , salech needs a rest but Robinson isn't a 9 any more he likes to drop back in to the 10 position so why not play him in the 10 saturday as he has the football brain for it put Ashford on the right moylan left rubin in a floating roll as a false 9

What a boost when them 2 and rubin are back in the team , will also mean a stronger bench and the option to move bielik in to midfield when needed

Cardiff City are one of just four EFL sides yet to win in the league this season, with four points from their opening seven games.

View from Charlton fans - To their season so far and beyond ...

Two consecutive home 0-0 draws against Queens Park Rangers and Portsmouth have kept Charlton ticking over in the Championship.

I was very happy to take a battling point against QPR, who are recognised as a dangerous outfit and indeed dominated possession for long periods.

There was a tinge of disappointment at not defeating 17th-placed Pompey in a fledgling Championship table.

Charlton showed good fluidity in the first half and should have been rewarded, with Millenic Alli glaringly missing in front of the Portsmouth fans who were cheering him on last season but jeering this time.

Portsmouth emerged after the interval having absorbed and escaped Charlton's pressure, putting together quicker combinations and attacking the spaces more effectively. Their best chance fell to Abu Kamara, but Arthur Okonkwo went down well to his left to thwart him. Charlton regained control in the latter stages.

Very much like last season, we generally look sound defensively, but where are the goals coming from?

Three blanks on the spin, but you can also put a positive spin on that: just one defeat in our opening seven league games.

I'm sure all Charlton fans would have taken that when we were under starters' orders on August 15, and it has resulted in a sixth-place berth.
