BBC:

There's nothing in that.
He's a player I know, obviously. He was at Manchester City before I was there.
Brian Barry-Murphy

Glen Williams:

BBM was asked today if he was interested and he replied “Not ruling anything out.”

Rabbi Matondo.

He’s a Free Agent

The Wales international came through the ranks at Cardiff as a youngster before joining Manchester City.

Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy is a big fan of Matondo and feels he could boost his squad.

Well do something about it ? Action speaks louder than words

The circus clowns would probably say the finance isn't there to make this happen.

Transfer fee too high :-) or BBM happy with his squad and only acquires a certain type of player known as a Unicorn… you decide

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Never impressed me when I've watched him play for Wales & he's a free agent for a reason.

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

I’d 100% take him, been at to many big clubs to not have something there just maybe it’s confidence and BBM can get it out of him

I'm calling bs on this one loads of stories about where he's going over the past few days, it's his agent trying to build hype and start a bidding war

The fact is that we won’t know either way until it does or doesn’t happen. It makes some sense for him to come ‘home’ and to work again with BBM, but if we’ve learned anything this Summer, it’s never to raise our hopes in the transfer front

I agree, I think his career isnt down to a lack of ability but more down to poor agents trying to make a quick buck and profit from him, taking him to clubs that he wasnt suited for at that stage of his career. I am probably not going to give him a long term deal if I'm cardiff but a 1 or a 2 year deal would make sense. If he couldn't succeed at his hometown club with BBM as his manager, then I don't know where his career goes from there.

I agree. He's crap.

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Could be a good move for both, Rabbi to kick start his career.

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 8:13 am

The biggest question here is wether BBM is interested or wether his agent is saying BBM is interested

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 8:23 am

He hasn’t set the world alight anywhere he’s been. If he can’t hack it in the Scottish prem is he really good enough for the championship?

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 8:35 am

He's rubbish

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 9:11 am

Rangers, fans didn't rate him.
I read his agent said he's not in a hurry.
That's a bit worrying.
Personally, I think he's up his own arse

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 9:31 am

Can't see us signing anybody until January.

And maybe not even then.

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 9:33 am

He would be a starter for me , better than what we got

Re: BBM apparently interested in:

BBM was asked today if he was interested and he replied “Not ruling anything out.”

Annis, what he has got (which we are desperate for) is out and out pace, the rest of his game is no better than what we've already got but we need more numbers in this squad ASAP.

Paul,

100% agree and we need that and actually we need Championship Players added Asap

A few years ago saw Rabbi play in a shalke 04 side in the German top league and he skinned the defenders down the wing.
So it's a yes from me

Re: Updated: BBM apparently interested in:

I'd be happy to give him a go here

He has pace which we need

People saying he couldn't make it at rangers but neither did chris Burke and he became a fan favourite when he came here

Sometimes players just need the right coach and system to play in

Good point. Forgot about Chris Burke.

Re: Updated: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 11:07 am

Don't think he's interested really.

Re: Updated: BBM apparently interested in:

Thu Sep 10, 2026 11:51 am

He hasn’t played much in the last few years, so it’d be purely as back up for what we have initially until he becomes fit and up to speed, so he would be a lower rated El Ghazi in my opinion.

That said, beggars can’t be choosers and I’d take him on a short contract

Bang on there froggy lad you see lots of players blossom under different managers and what ha e we got to loose ,
My only concern is i thought BBM. Was fussy it would not be a player he singled out and studied for along time i would have thought.
It feels a more desperate appointment just to get someone in,but I gave no problem with the player.

Oh yeah without a doubt it would be a desperation signing

but we are desperate and like you say we got nothing to lose really especially if we offered him a year contract maybe 2 at max

Would only give him a seasons contract t but explain if he proves himself under BBM then we could go from there with whatever the manager thinks

Manager Brian Barry-Murphy says Cardiff City are monitoring the free-agent market as an injury-hit and winless Championship start has reduced the Irishman's options.

The Bluebirds' lack of depth has come under scrutiny with 15-year-old Noah Anyadike and 16-year-old Paul Moreno named on the bench against Stoke City in midweek.

Barry-Murphy insists both youngsters, however, have earned their places in the matchday squad.

"Those players were on the bench because they've done really well and they were deserving of it," he said.

"If we had signed more players, then maybe they wouldn't have been, but they are and I'm very pleased with them.

"There were very similar players in a similar position last season who've now become mainstays in the team. They all have to start somewhere."
