Not a disaster if we don't sign anyone

Tue Sep 01, 2026 2:16 pm

I'm sure work is being done to bring in players today, I had hoped for at least two.

But if it doesn't happen then it's not a disaster.

We have a squad with a good team spirit, that's what helped get us promoted. Bringing in the wrong personalities could disrupt that.

We have a good squad and I don't see any danger that we'll get relegated, there are worse teams than us.

Let's hope we make additions today, but it's not the end of the world if we don't.

We have added some players and kept hold of our best talent, when there were loads of conspiracy theories that Lawlor was going.

I am as optimistic as the next person, BUT the silence is deafening. I'll be the first to hold my hand up and acknowledge I'm wrong if we do sign some players today, but as time ticks on I just cannot see it.

Agree about making sure anyone that comes in has the right personality to fit in, but also we need bodies to have a bit of competition for places, otherwise first teamers will just think, 'well, no-one has come in so my position is safe, doesn't matter if I was garbage today, manager is still going to pick me as no-one else there'.

Competition for places should be encouraged, as it can bring out the best in payers who want to keep their place.

I like you have been quite relaxed through this whole window and whilst not a total disaster I think we have to agree it will be extremely disappointing if we dont get a couple of quality additions over the line to give us a bit of depth

Also if the Ken choo rumors are true , tan has to act and get rid of him as apparently hes a huge reason we keep missing out on targets

I really think we need another option up front at least, if Salech got injured we’d be in a worse position than we were last year with no Kellyman to fill in. I think defensively we can now cope with what we have.
Realistically if we only get 2 in I would like someone who can play up front or wide and another 6 so it gives us the option to play Robertson as an 8 if we wanted to.

Although I agree, it's a bit light; three more would have improved things. if we are lucky with injurires we have a great little squad with a great vibe and atmosphere, one of the best young Managers in the league and can still push for the top eight, attacking wise we are awsome and Moylan, Scanlon and Bieli look really good additions. Trott too, of course.

Ashford, looks like a top striker too in the making and with Salech will cause a lot of teams problems this season.

From the squad that won promotion last year the only 2 new players are Moylan and Bielik, we lost wintle who was our best player by a mile and kellyman who also stood in for when salech was injured, if we dont sign anymore to at least have some squad depth then I think this has been a very poor window

The squad is way to small

But Dalman has spoken

Ken choo sat in his office doing his best to f**k everything up for us

The individual quality is clearly there. Moylan is easily on par with Kellyman, Bielik gives us that aerial presence in both boxes, and the growth in Ashford and Rubin since last year has been massive. Plus, a fully fit Scanlon looks a serious player.

We need to judge this team on how well we are playing right now rather than worrying about raw numbers. The days of signing six or seven deadwood players just to fill out a squad are gone. BBM targets genuine quality, and that beats scattergun recruitment every time.

I agree regarding moylan being on par if not better than kellyman but this squad is still really low on depth, I can only look on in envy at the vermins transfer window down west, I dread when we play them this year

Re: Not a disaster if we don't sign anyone

Tue Sep 01, 2026 2:53 pm

No not a disaster but can't see us doing anything in the league as injury and fatigue will hamper us... but what intrigued me is have said selling best players like them up m4 is no way to progress which is true! But we've done opposite? We've got a very decent squad but have not added to it to make us progress... if no-one comes in can only see mid to just above relegation places for us which is a shame as had us for double promotion at midway point last season

Re: Not a disaster if we don't sign anyone

Tue Sep 01, 2026 2:58 pm

I think it would be a disaster of epic proportions. Any good will Tan MAY have built up in a Promotion year will collapse.

BBM is ambitious. The club show no ambition WHATSOEVER.

If the club show no ambition then the owners should GET OUT NOW!

Re: Not a disaster if we don't sign anyone

Tue Sep 01, 2026 2:59 pm

Even BBM Said he wanted them

But Dalman, Choo really they have to go

RB
Winger
Striker

Re: Not a disaster if we don't sign anyone

Tue Sep 01, 2026 2:59 pm

It will be a disaster.

The fragile peace given to Tan and the board will erupt if we fall backwards.

BBM under pressure, moans in the stadium, toxic clouds appearing…

The clown show need to go, all this summer has done is push the wedge back in.
We have basis of a decent team here. But the limitations in squad could snap us….

Re: Not a disaster if we don't sign anyone

I disagree...Fans, Club, Players know whats needed... BBM has said so himself...

This is a good post and I’m pretty relaxed about things.

Moylan is better and will certainly be more consistent than Kellyman.

Yes, ideally, I’d like a minimum of 2 new players as now is the time to push on and not tread water.

Certainly not a disaster but better than the old days.

There’s still time ……….

It will be a disaster tan has not spent even 5 million. There are no top quality strikers wingers for free all top quality have to be paid for that's why a lot of other clubs in the championship are buying players to secure top quality .

I'll take criticism from people who consistently contribute on here, but not someone like you that only pops up when there's something to moan about.

It's because of posters like you why I'm disillusioned with this forum. Because you're either expecting things which are unreasonable or just doing anything to stick the boot in to the board.

Remember we haven't sold any of our top players this summer, which is sort of like a signing in itself given there were worries we would.

You have to admit you have repeatedly reminded people that we should wait for the transfer window to end before making any judgement. Its not over yet admittedly but if we dont sign a back up striker it will be a very bad transfer window. From the side that came up we have lost Kellyman and Wintle and added Moylan ( a great signing). Down by one in my opinion because adding another centre half does not count as I am sure that wouldn't have happened but for the injury crises in that position. It is not unreasonable to expect a striker to have been added.

I agree with you that people who frequently contribute to this forum such as you have the right to criticise when the window is closed, if that's what they feel.

But I won't take lectures from certain posters who only appear on here when there's something to complain about, but frequently go missing when good stuff is happening.

I like your optimism, but the squad is too small. More injuries will happen with no rotation. You say we haven't sold any top players?? What top players? Lawor maybe, who is injured. Another relegation battle imo. The clowns have learnt nothing, and it reinforces the fact that Tan is treading water for a sale on his terms. TAN OUT

We won't be anywhere near relegation.

People don't know it's Tan or Choo to blame. It could just be that first and second choice signings went elsewhere because they're bigger clubs and more opportunities to play.

Glad we haven't made panic signings, that would have left us with more like Etete.
