BBM Set for major changes : Cardiff City are set for major

Mon Aug 24, 2026 2:29 pm

BBM Set for major changes :

Cardiff City are set for major changes against Norwich as Brian Barry-Murphy juggles his injuries and eyes a club record for teenager Noah Anyadike.

Norwich home, due to his small squad a few injuries, BBM can’t for anymore injuries before Sheff United Home.

So the Squad tomorrow night will include more Accademy players and more U21 players.

BBM:

"We haven't got many options at the moment, so hopefully we can have somebody in."

Cardiff had hoped to strengthen before the Norwich game, with Barry-Murphy saying after Saturday's draw that he expected a new signing to arrive before Tuesday.

However, any new arrival would have had to be registered by midday on Monday to be eligible for the cup tie, and that now looks unlikely.

It looks unlikely any new signings to arrive in time for Norwich home.

BBM is desperately trying for more loan signings.

That means Barry-Murphy is likely to turn to some of the younger members of his squad, with the cup presenting an opportunity for players who have had limited first-team exposure.

How the f**k are we in this position already?
Is it BBM or The board?

Yeah because no manager ever wants better players. If the TV told the population we need to stay inside our houses as it's raining most would listen.

He's gagging for half a team like any other manager out there who are better than what's in there squad irrelevant what they can say to the media. We have lost loads of younster players to other clubs over the summer and replaced them with who??? That's without the 1st team that needed 5 or 6 better players 2hicba gain we have not got. The man put two goalkeepers on the bench on the weekend. Does that not tell anyone anything :bluescarf:

I don't care about the cup or cups but we are two league games in and look at the situation within. It's clear for all to see.

The replies to this already, f*cking hell

It's a cup game that a fair few have already said they'd put out a weakened team.

No significant injuries from Saturday. Moylan will be fine for Sheffield United and wouldn't have played in this game anyway. Rubin coming off was planned.

The problem with people getting outraged by everything is it then means little when there actually is something to be outraged about.

Surprised there hasn't been a mass suicide attempt from Cardiff City fans when you look at how some go on, personally think it's pathetic and am almost finding it funny how upset people are getting over very little

I feel as though he could have done well last season - I'm unsure about the Championship but lets see :bluescarf:

The question is why have we not been able to sign those better players after four months of knowing what league we'll be in this season? Apart from Moylan of course who looks excellent.

BBM has said he's being backed, has said he won't just bring in anybody, has said he won't sign players just to cover injuries, has said to blame him not the club for being slow with transfers.

Are his targets unrealistic or is Tan being a knob as usual?

I know which one I think more likely but it could be a bit of both.

Is lawler injured or not playing because he's going?

It’s mad, Ned. We know the situation, we already discussed the likelihood of a much changed team for tomorrow, and the question of Lawlor’s continued absence; and it’s now being used as another ‘bashing’ opportunity by some

The one post that does resonate a little, is Ian’s (Bluebird1977) post above. BBM will have his ‘wants’ but it’s not all down to him to get it in! :(

Chance to give players who have not had much game time - a part to play tomorrow .

Our main goal this season is to stay up and at this point - No more injuries

The moment I get suicidal over a football team then it's time to give it all up Ned, BBM can play whoever it makes no odds the cup is dogshit and has been for years with teams putting anyone out.

You and Sven are part of the "patience plenty of time left yet" lot even if there's 1 minute to go, and the team sheet come out with two goalkeepers on, you refused to see what's going on but that's up to you two. Me personally I think your both so wrapped up in what BBM has to say to the media you can't see the woods through the trees. Again my opinion but once the window shuts and we got a loan and another maybe who will both take 4 to 5 weeks to start games while 6 games pass us, then what are you both still going to say the manager was backed for a championship season??

You was both virtually tossing eachother off over some pretend 7m bid over some player who was naming 5 clubs he's apparently going for talks with to get a move, then he went to hull but bigger clubs was in for him apparently

The problem is for me we do the same shit every season of windows, only this one we need championship players to go with who can perform there week in week out and at that level. Fans want to see ambition not the same thing every window.

Iif it's anything different to what you lot say there deemed negative it's becoming a snowflake don't offend me forum. For me I couldn't give a f**k for anyone on here and I hope you are the same as we put whatever we think :bluescarf:

Finally someone saying it as it really is,they both Billy fans who say the truth, reality.
It’s a f**k yo how the club is still run and manager after manager has to make excuses. This squad is not good enough and we, BBM and everyone knew this from day one and weeks ago.

Give BBM some decent tools and we can go high in my opinion but you can't give somebody half there tools and say they are the best out there available when they are not and except the same miracle job that's my thinking.

We are all city fans after all , why else would we be on here unless your just a wind up merchant from another club but to me that's just totally pointless :bluescarf:

Ian,

With you all the way, but sadly we are not allowed to not only have our opinions but state the truth and the majority can see, it’s not right behind the scenes.

The funny story year after year it’s been the same old story yet they try and deny it.

Last season we were very very lucky our younger players were far better than league 1 and BBM knew how to manage them.

This is a whole new world and the the real quality is needed and he needs to be supported by above.

I can only assume that the Club is taking any potential transfers/loans right down to the wire with a view to wrapping up deals before another club jumps in. If that isn't the case and we end up with just one or two mediocre signings then that's a criminal waste of a golden opportunity. This manager has shown what he can do with a limited squad and four or five genuine additions we would surely be looking at mid-table, and a wonderful opportunity to push on next season. I really hope I'm right about the window because if the squad isn't strengthened significantly and we have another season struggling in the Championship, the discontent amongst our supporters will be huge.

Gone are the days of playing 5 centre backs in one game. I think it was Mick McCarthy who lined up like that at least once?

Flint, Morrison, Nelson & 2 others I cant think of

Annis,

Other clubs who are better run than ours will be taking notice of BBM even more now.

He has shown that not only can he bring success with a youth policy and limited funds, not only can he unify a fractured fanbase but he's also able to defend the club ownership and even accept some of the blame for the inability to stregnthen the squad prior to the start of the season.

Tan is too pigheaded and thick to realise what he's got in BBM and if he's not careful some other club will soon be willing to give him the support which, despite what he himself says, he does not appear currently to be getting from our club.

Stick by what I said.

Nothing has changed since Saturday so the response on this thread has been totally disproportionate - but that's what this forum has turned into lately.

People think they can spout their usual bollocks of running the club down daily because that's what they get joy out of (how weird). Then when they get called out for it, they start crying "oh we're not allowed our opinion". Yet those same people then gang up on anyone who is even slightly optimistic. It's pathetic.

Same people who spent last summer saying "this manager has only ever got Rochdale relegated", "we need experience", "our squad is nowhere near big enough" and called me in "cuckoo land" for saying we'd be top six at least.

So I'm sorry if it upsets a few that people like me will say it how it really is, but I'm not going to stop just because it ruins their fun of talking our club down.

Of course it's disproportionate. Because nothing has changed since the weekend and we had all this just before the weekend, so why start the fire again?

To be honest I couldn't give a flying f**k what people think of me given the stick people have given me when I've got things wrong. Difference is that I hold my hands and admit it when I'm wrong, others refuse to do that despite being consistently wrong.

And people do constantly run the club down. We all want Tan to go but for some the hatred is so strong that Tan lives rent free in their head and can't think clearly.

Let's go back to last summer, people writing off the manager the club appointed instantly. Before the season people saying we'd be nowhere near the top six and that I was in "cuckoo land" for saying we would be. Even after a bad result a couple of months into the season (even though we were near the top), we had "this guy got Rochdale relegated".

There were even people criticising the manager for not going to an U21 game FFS

And why do they go after the match? Because it's a way to go after Tan. They do that because they're blinded by hatred.

So all these people who were happy to go after me when I've got things wrong (again, which I always admit to) can't handle it when someone fires back at them.

I honestly don't care who it upsets with me calling them out.

You say it's their thoughts but it's not really. It's them pushing their agenda and they don't want any push back. They'll continue to get it from me until I get banned from this forum.

Because I do think it's ridiculous and has got totally out of hand this summer.

Up to now I've been too nice to people on here but there's no point in that anymore so will have to approach it differently.

Goes both ways though.

People didn't have an issue constantly giving me grief about Riza. They don't like it when the tables are turned.

I've been too nice to people for a long time for the way they've responded to me, see no point in that from now on.
