Argentinan flag

Sun Aug 23, 2026 6:19 pm

Shown by some of our fans yesterday.
Just a reminder 32 Welsh guardsmans were
killed and many suffered serious injury.
So put that flag where it belongs, in the bin.

Re: Argentinan flag

Sun Aug 23, 2026 6:21 pm

I could understand using the flag of the nation that knocked England out if it was Congo or Mexico, but not Argentina given how they hate the whole of the UK.

Re: Argentinan flag

Sun Aug 23, 2026 6:23 pm

Hard to believe that any of our fans would even think about it. But then again I got ridiculed by some on here for even suggesting that we should remember the Falklands war on here during the world cup when they were playing England so I guess it shouldn't be surprising,

Re: Argentinan flag

Kids where not about then and history is not taught in school these days, so a bit of ignorance by youngsters I don' t think if was in any way geared at soldiers
but that's why uk history should be taught in schools to enligten the ignorant.

Perhaps, but there were stories about it all over the news/social media etc during the World Cup so they should know. Failing that, you'd think their parents would educate them.

But let's not forget there were people on here celebrating Argentina winning and defending them when they said the Falklands were their's.

It’s Sickening that some the minority continue to do this.

Some Cardiff have had fights with other Cardiff fans

Corky has told me he’s tried to tell some of the younger ones to stop it and they honestly don’t care, ARSEHOLES

If these kids where fully aware that uk military had been killed be argis and new full well waving an argi flag was like treading on the soldiers graves ,I would kick there arses too .

Put that flag away please !!!

Re: Argentinan flag

Sun Aug 23, 2026 8:01 pm

I didn’t want our fans getting the Argentina flag out at games due to Falklands but I knew it would happen. Was the only time I supported England in a tournament against them. As others have said it’s usually kids who don’t know the history. Any other team crack on with banter but not Argentina

Re: Argentinan flag

it’s football banter no need to go over board.

That’s the sad state of our communities right now; and it’s going to take some educating, if it is ever going to improve!

Awareness out there is staggeringly poor, and as you say, far too many don’t care about anything outside their own heads!

Exactly. Some people taking it way too seriously. Don’t remember the outcry when fans were waving the German flags before.

Spot on Chris. Our woke government and this "white privileged" b*ll*cos has changed what is taught in schools today with our history taking the biggest kicking and this is what you get, teenagers that have no respect for the sacrifice many made.

But isn't that part of the big plan........

It was the only time I’ve supported them to. Some things are more important than football.
Re taking the Falklands should be celebrated, we sent a task force 8000 miles to kick the greasy bastards off our land. We have ran the islands longer than Argentina has even existed.

Come on Abergavenny. Don’t let facts get in way of an agenda to stir things up. I mentioned this in a post yesterday we as a group really our becoming such a snowflake group everything is offending us now, even when it simply isn’t true.

Not stirring anything up I generally was interested to see how things have changed in educating the subject of history in school as this was by far my fav subject Have a look at the 4 units that pupils study and you will find that they are very similar to those taught in the 70s and 80s As you say let’s not let facts get in the way of things as the post o replied too stated the teaching of history subjects had changed but my research shows that it is not really accurate at all

The way slavery and empire is taught has changed massively. Kids are leaving school believing, this country is uniquely evil and slavery was only ever practiced by the British. That’s what happens when extreme left filth, like the Fabian Society runs the show.

I don't really let flags bother me, we have a few who fly the tricolour of Ireland, no one says a word but the IRA killed more brits than the Argies did, so I tend not to let a little flag piss me off whether it be tricolour, Argie and every other fecker we have had war with. :bluebird:

There’s all sorts we could bring up. God knows why a bit of football banter has kicked up such a storm with the easily offended snowflakes, but they seem not bothered about sales of german, Italian and Japanese products. Who killed many many more Welsh soldiers. It’s like Mary Whitehorse on here sometimes.
I saw a lady wear a red broach at the Wrexham I was beside myself with rage, I couldn’t work out if it was disrespectful to the terrible brief period we were red and she clearly still supports it or her support for the visiting team. What ever it was I was deeply offended.

Can recall after 98 many games where city fans would aggressively chant Argentina to opposing fans...

No one said a peep back then...

Not saying I agree with it, just stating facts.

I've worn an Argentina(Hoodie) jersey before, not becuase I support them or becuase of wars...

Just as it was a nice addidas top...

Because I not easily offended.
But that would be different completely and you know it. That a direct chant at the death or people to deliberately wind fans up. The Argentina shirts are about them being knocked out of a football tournament. This lefty woke trend is beyond. What going offend you next?
Hot dogs should include dog because it’s upsetting.
Come on.
