Ryan Hedges has signed for Derby County.

The versatile winger has been amongst John Eustace’s squad throughout pre-season on a trial basis and has secured a permanent move to the club ahead of the Rams’ first home game of the 2026/27 Sky Bet Championship season on Saturday.

He played in the Under-18 and Under-21 sides with the Swans and enjoyed multiple loan spells while on the books with the club in Wales.

First with League One Leyton Orient in 2015, where he made 17 appearances with five goal involvements for the O’s.

A short-term switch to Stevenage came in February 2016, featuring six times in League Two, and finally with Yeovil Town five months later, where he scored four times in 21 outings.

At 21 years old, Hedges secured a permanent move to Barnsley. He settled down at Oakwell for a three-season stretch, spending two campaigns in the Championship and one in League One.

He also earned international recognition for Wales in October 2017, called up and amongst the squad for World Cup Qualifiers. He also made his international bow in a friendly against Panama a month later and has three senior caps for Wales on top of multiple appearances through the age groups.

A move north of the border came next for the wide-man, Aberdeen securing his services on a three-year deal with The Dons.

He helped Aberdeen finish fourth in the Scottish Premiership in both of his first two seasons at Pittodrie and won both the Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year awards in the 2020/21 campaign, in which he scored nine goals in 32 appearances.

Like I said on another thread, they've got massive injury problems too and are moaning about not making signings.

Their best player Szmodics is a doubt.

I will go for a 2-2 draw.

A win today would really set the tone for the coming season.
But would a win disuade Tan to open his purse during the window.
In that case, a loss could be a win if Tan thinks he needs a few singings

we held wrexham who where just shy of promotion to the prem, and big spenders .

Somehow & no thanks to Kpakio we somehow survived the first 10 minutes & then Rubin's shot hits the crossbar after the keeper just managed to get a hand to the ball, good save that.
