If it really was rigged the USA would be in the next round of the tournament.

Egypt were robbed !!!! (1) they disallowed a goal ….by going back several moves before . I have never seen this .

(2) Argentina’s third goal ……Egypt had sn undeniable penalty call ….the ref waived the play on ….Argentina goes straight up and score .

I’ve watched the Video, absolutely Disgusting:

It's cringewothy watching it at times. Going back 1 minute to fouls and I've never seen such shit refs and var are a joke don't even get involved at times. As for the players wel do the not realise there are replays, some of the constant rolling about like they had a car dropped on is nothing short of embarrassing them they suddenly leap up like a gazelle being chased. It's pathetic at best.

You could swap shirts on the same 22 players with different countries and you wouldn't know the difference in some games as they all play backwards and sideways football even if there losing 2-0 and in injury time rather than put players in the box and cross the bloody thing. Football is dying for me.

It was a correct decision. There was a foul in the build up to the goal, seen the same thing loads of times in the premiership and champions league. This is no different.

Re: Argentina win the World Cup, it is rigged

If that goal had been awarded, it would have been 2-0. It became 2-0 a little while later anyway. The only difference is that Argentina would have made their tactical changes earlier and would have had more time to reverse the deficit.

If you are 2-0 up at 78 minutes, you should be seeing the game out.

100% happened to us in the Premier League; they give the big clubs every fifty-fifty.

I have watched this replay and I don't think it's a penalty. Argentinian player touched the Egyptian guy with his hand and he threw himself to the floor.

Egypt beginning to look like sore losers now - this moany video, backroom staff tracking Messi on the pitch, claiming racism, Salah moaning (no change), coach kicking off at a photographer who was taking pics as he was telling Argies with a Israeli flag to 'f**k off' (he was happy to wave his preferred flag), fighting with Dallas police - who do they think they are - Uruguay?

Conceding 3 goals in 10 mins was the problem.

Morocco in Afcon and Egypt in World Cup - North African teams do like feel hard done by, don't they?

I think there were two incidents where it should have been a penalty to Egypt in the lead up to Argentina's winner - McAllisters shirt pull and Salah being tripped. I am amazed it didn't go to VAR, so while I thought the ref was very picky, he should have been helped on that decision with a review.

However, I also think it was a foul on Martinez for the disallowed goal for Egypt which was such a shame as it would probably have been goal of the tournament. The better team on the day lost no question, but I don't think there was any bias towards Argentina just poor decisions by the officials

I dislike VAR, despite the possible corrupt decisions we talk about.
It started off as a good idea but seems to be expanding the reasons to analyse decisions.
As a result, if a team scores a goal, the fans cannot be sure if it will be allowed for the first minute or two while the build up to that goal is being analysed.
As a result, I prefer watching matches without it as we have been accustomed to at Cardiff.
Yes, mistakrs are made, but decisions are made much quicker and the match flows without these constant interruptions.
But I do like the goal line technology.

Come on yes was a foul to disallow Egypt goal but can argue it didn’t effect the goal as it was ages before goal.....but the kick on salah for penalty claim was 3 times more evident than the little touch on foot for martines foul....var should have done what every other var team have done refer ref to monitor it wasn't an oversight it was deliberately missed as it was as plain a penalty as Messi one .... the ref not at fault but cannot say no bias towards Argentina as there clearly was.

You must have been watching a different game. Clear foul for Egypt's goal, nobody was really complaining at the time it was the correct decision. Salah had already lost the ball then turned in looking for it absolutely NOT a penalty. The arm grab maybe maybe but it would be the softest penalty in the tournament. People are conflating this game with the USA red card situation for some reason

Said it was a foul for Egypt goal soft but he tapped his big toe!... but just saw the salah incident again dont you think it warranted a var review like most incidents in penalty area?? Just because the ball moved away from him the challenge itself was reckless .. they review if goalie hits player after ball gone away so why not in this instance? Anyway it's irrelevant game gone can't change result

I said that it should have been a penalty for potentially two fouls on Egypt players before Argentina scored the winner. I also said that the ref should have been helped by VAR. But, there was no guarantee that after the lack of a penalty for Egypt that Argentina were going to score a third to win the game, but once it was scored I agree they should have reviewed it. Other posters have said here they didn't think it was a foul, and perhaps VAR felt there was no clear and obvious error if they felt the same. I think it was the wrong decision not to review it, but I'm not really not sure why everyone is saying its rigged in favour of Argentina as other teams have had questionable decisions go for or against them too...

The truth of the matter whatever the right's and wrongs, is that Egypt 2 .0 up with 15 mins left shoild have won. They just ran out of steam.

From the man who scored a winner with an obvious handball to knock Ireland out some years ago ... Did anyone say Argentina's game was rigged against Cape Verde when they could easily have lost?

I agree that the winning goal should have been looked at by VAR as the disallowed goal for Egypt was, but I dont understand why it wasn't means the whole competition is biased in favour of Argentina. What happens if they lose their next match? :?
