Wed May 13, 2026 8:48 pm

FULL TIME IN THE TITLE DECIDER:

CELTIC 3-1 HEARTS

CELTIC WIN THE SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP

Title race in Scotland will go to the final day.

It's a con job! Not for 1st time var as saved celtic or rangers ... was it conclusive handball who knows but bet hearts wouldn't have been awarded it.

Lots of fans in Scotland calling out the corruption and anyone who isn't a Celtic fan is saying Hearts are the true winners this season

I never watch that mickey mouse league but I kept eyes on it this season because of Hearts but I can't believe how corrupt it is

Hearts will be Scottish champions for the first time since 1960 if they avoid defeat at Celtic Park on Saturday after sweeping aside Falkirk at a raucous Tynecastle.

First-half goals from an unlikely duo - centre-back Frankie Kent and midfielder Cammy Devlin - and Blair Spittal's brilliant late curling strike ensured Hearts did what they needed to do on a night of high tension and high drama.

The result in Gorgie, combined with Celtic's controversial 99th-minute win at Motherwell, means Derek McInnes' side will travel to Celtic Park on Saturday knowing a draw would be enough for a scarcely-believable Premiership crown.

For a brief period in the first half, it looked as though this would be the evening Hearts fans have dreamed of.

Celtic scored a 99th minute penalty at Motherwell to take the title race to the last day…

Celtic play Hearts at Celtic Park on Saturday. Incredible!

Re: Scottish title race

Thu May 14, 2026 6:32 am

99th min penalty to Celtic / unbelievable:

Yet unbelievable only 5mins extra time given

'Cheat Cheat Cheat Cheat' rings around Motherwells stadium as Celtic are awarded a last minute penalty for this to keep them in the title race..

Football is corrupt.

VAR sent the ref to look at the monitor and he only watched the replay twice before making his decision.

The ball clearly comes off his head and there is no evidence showing the ball touching his hand. Also the Celtic player pushes the Motherwell players hand towards the ball when he jumps.

The Scottish fa and sky have what they wanted, a big payday on the last day of the season.

Money rules our once beautiful game

What big contentious big calls have gone Rangers way this season? On Sunday Celtic equalised with an offside goal. Rangers were denied a stonewall penalty and a Celtic player stayed on the park after a challenge that would have seen a red card in an honest league.

One of the guys at Sky, who releases footage for VAR to examine, is Martyn McNeil, son of ex Celtic Captain Billy McNeil. You know the Billy McNeil who admitted the paedophile ring at Celtic Park was “an open secret “.

Even Gary Linaker said it was the worst VAR call he’s ever seen.
Been told even Spanish newspapers are running this.

I live in Scotland, and its basically added time until Celtic score.
Thats 11 times this season they have scored in added time.

Whole world is laughing at Scotland and the levels to which the authorities protect their main product is f*cking appalling.

48 teams at this world cup, but not a single official/ref from Scotland.

Tells you all you need to know really.

Re: Scottish title race

Thu May 14, 2026 11:05 am

Total disgrace. If it's not corrupt then the two officials involved are completely incompetent.

Unfortunately it spoiled a good game in a great atmosphere, and robbed Motherwell of a deserved point.

Let's hope Hearts can get the result they need on Saturday to take the title.

Never said went anyone's way just said been saved by var? If last night wasn't a bid to save celtics league title what is? Only people saying it was a pen are Celtic supporters... leave it at that

Here's hoping Hearts win this and make the "big 2  " cry into their beers.

Re: Scottish title race

Probably the worst bit of cheating I've ever seen for Celtic to get that pen the other nights. I don't watch Scottish football much as the standard is div 2 stuff if that from most of them except the two bigger teams but that's down to money from sky and fans through the gates.

You’re saying VAR has saved Rangers too, it hasn’t. Scottish Football is ran by Celtic, for Celtic. Just because we have to share a city with them, doesn’t mean we come as a pair.

Lets be honest it's a very uncompetitive league dominated by religion.

Hearts have been the best team over the season, if they win, which they deserve to, I won’t shed any tears.

The fallout from Celtic's 99th-minute highly contentious penalty winner at Fir Park rumbles on.

With the score tied at 2-2, referee John Beaton, after being sent for an onfield review, judged Motherwell defender Sam Nicholson to have handled the ball inside the box and awarded a spot-kick.

Celtic striker Kelechi Iheanacho converted to keep Martin O'Neill's side one point behind leaders Hearts and take the title race to a final-day showdown between the two at Parkhead.

Former Hearts manager Robbie Neilson told the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast: "I think it's the magnitude of the decision, the repercussions of it.

"I think in any other game of the season you probably can't say bad decision but because of the repercussions of it, and what was at stake at that point, at that minute in the game, not just for Hearts but also for Motherwell.

"It wasn't a clear and obvious error by a referee so why is VAR getting involved? That's the big question.

"It's a massive swing in the game and it's a hugely controversial decision. This is a decision that will get talked about for years to come."

Re: Scottish title race

Thu May 14, 2026 11:22 pm

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton wrote on X, external: "Now the dust has settled. The reaction from many high profile people is way over the top.

"John Beaton was advised to go to the monitor and saw that the ball hit the arm in an unnatural position. Bottom line is people would hate to see Celtic win the title again and that is all."

Former Premiership referee Steve Conroy told BBC Radio Scotland: "It's a nonsense to think anybody could say that that was a deliberate attempt at a handball.

"This is an indication of a systemic failure from the SFA in how we deal with VAR. They have not got to grips with it. The same mistakes happen every week, the same officials are making these mistakes."

The Herald football writer Stephen McGowan told the BBC's Scottish Football Podcast: "I just think we've jumped through the looking glass with handball rule now.

"You take away the tribalism that surrounds this issue and nobody has a clue what the rule really is and when VAR should be getting involved.

"Can I say definitively that was a handball last night? No. Can I say definitively it was not a handball? No. Can anyone say that with absolute certainty? No. Least of all the officials.

"Therefore you get to the point where you say, should VAR really be getting involved in that? Now I've seen some more angles the ball has struck his hand, but as I say, it is not definitive in any shape or form."
