“Calum has damaged his wrist,” the City boss said.

"He’s definitely out and there’s no definite date on his return. He’s going to be out for a while."

It comes as Cardiff continue their push towards promotion, with Barry-Murphy also confirming Cian Ashford will miss the trip to Reading after suffering a back issue.

“Cian Ashford has got an issue with his back, so he won’t be available. He’s quite sore,” he added.

“Isaak Davies is finally back in training.”

Lawlor toe is still sore and is a doubt.

About Reading

Reading are in their third successive season in League One, having been relegated from the Championship in 2023. Last season they finished 7th.

They had a turbulent time whilst under bad ownership for the last few years, but were bought by Rob Couhig earlier this year.

They are currently 9th with 62 points from 43 games.

Club Connections

Although they left us last summer, both Yakou Meite and Andy Rinomhota spent the last couple of years with us after being at Reading.

Rinomhota returned to Reading in November.

The Opposition's Manager

Leam Richardson has been Reading manager since October.

He previously had spells in charge of Accrington, Wigan and Rotherham.

Opposition Dangerous Players

Lewis Wing has had a great season with 11 goals and 11 assists.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan has nine league goals this season.

Referee

Matt Corlett will take charge of this game.

He has refereed 29 games this season, showing 122 yellow cards - an average of 4.21 per game. He has also shown six red cards.

This isn't the first Cardiff City game he's refereed this season. He was in charge for our 4-3 win over Leyton Orient in October.

Most of the games he's refereed this season have been in League One with 16. The others have been 7 in League Two, 4 in the Championship and 2 in the Carabao Cup.

Head To Head - Last Five Meetings

We have won four of the last five meetings, including each of the last three. Reading won the other game in the last five games between the two sides.

We beat them 2-1 at CCS in October.

If we continue to endlessly pass the ball with little end product, then a draw for me.

Reading's hopes of the top six are all but over. They're five points off 6th with three games to go but both Stevenage and Plymouth above them have a game in hand.

2-0 win for us.

I'd rest Rubin in this game and start Joel

Rubin looked knackered on Tuesday and was well off the pace

I’m seeing another 1-1 draw us with massive possession again. Hi left to right right to left and backwards.
Hope I’m wrong. A draw with us actually trying to score would be much more enjoyable for me.

Dylan Lawlor puts his hand up in apology after miscontrolling Gabriel Osho's pass. Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan pounces on it, but Lawlor does excellenty then to dispossess him.
