CITY TODAY, I KEEP SAYING IT RUBIN RUBIN COLWILL / HES QUAL

Sat Mar 14, 2026 4:54 pm

CITY TODAY, I KEEP SAYING IT RUBIN RUBIN COLWILL / HES QUALITY AND RESULTED IN AN EXCELLENT AWAY WIN FOR CARDIFF CITY

And with Bolton dropping 2pts Cardiff are 11pts ahead of them with 9 games left.
Bradford losing they are 12pts behind Cardiff.

Well Deserved 3pts :bluebird:

Cardiff had 30 Shots

Exeter were without a Win in their last 10 Games.

Crowd 7,180 including 1,093 from @CardiffCityFC.

MAN OF THE MATCH RUBIN COLWILL :bluebird: :bluebird:

Trott Never had a shot to save.

EXETER CITY : POSSESSION 35% SHOTS 5 / 1 ON TARGET

CARDIFF CITY : 65% SHOT 30 / ON TARGET 10

FIRST-HALF: TOTALLY ONE SIDED BY CARDIFF 17 to 2 SHOTS / 8 Corners to 0 :bluebird: :bluebird:

10mins. Crossbar! Alex Robertson's corner is dangerous and Perry Ng rises highest - but crashes his header against the bar!

31Mins GOAL! Exeter City 0-1 Cardiff City :bluebird: :bluebird:
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Rubin with a stunner!
Ollie Tanner - another assist for him - feeds the Bluebirds skipper inside the area and he takes it in his stride. It's a narrow angle and it looks as though Colwill will send a low cross in, but instead he smashes it across the goalkeeper and right into the postage stamp in the top corner!
Some strike. Colwill cups his ear in celebration.

34mins. GOAL! Exeter City 0-2 Cardiff City :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
GOOOOAL! Rubin header!
Well if the first goal was all about Colwill, the second is about Cian Ashford.
Ashford is too quick for Pierce Sweeney as he skins him on the outside before he stabs an excellent cross into the middle of the goal.
Colwill, five yards out, just has to point his header downwards and it's in. He couldn't miss.

Trott did not have a shot to save

SECOND-HALF: Cardiff continued to dominate the game and Winning comfortable.

After Cardiff continued to Dominate, in the 62nd min Exeter made a Triple Sub.

68mins. GOAL! Exeter City 0-3 Cardiff City :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
GOOOOOOOAL! Another utter stunner, this time from Alex Robertson.
Oh, now that is one of the most aesthetically-pleasing goals you are ever likely to see.
Robertson plays the ball to Ryan Wintle on the edge of the box and he receives it back straight away with a one-two.
It's inviting for the Australian, who looks up and hits a crisp, bending effort right into the top corner. Nothing Whitworth can do.
Absolutely Stunning.

Exeter made 2 Subs

71mins Chris Willock and David Turnbull on.
Oliie Tanner and Alex Robertson are off.

75min Calum Robinson and Joel Colwill Replaced Kellyman and Rubin Colwill

Exeter hit crossbar.

86min, Willock shoots, Robinson scores from the rebound :bluebird: :bluebird:

Scanlon on for Bagan

EXETER CITY 0 CARDIFF CITY 4 :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Cardiff City: Trott; Ng, Osho, Lawlor, Bagan; Wintle, Robertson; R.Colwill, Tanner, Ashford; Kellyman

Subs: Fish, Chambers, Scanlon, Turnbull, J.Colwill, Willock, Robinson

A dominant performance. Results of 3rd and 4th a bonus, very close to promotion now.

I've liked what I've seen from Rubin in the last three games including today, deserved those two goals. Pleased for him.

Having his best season due to a good manager he was on fire before his injury but is now getting back in the groove everyone agrees sometimes he blows hot and cold but not often and what player does' nt kellyman was absent at ply.outh salec has had games where he has not done a great deal ,
Hats off to a home grown lad.

Still some on here think he is not very good 'found his level', looks like a 50 year old, must have something on Murphy are all comments on here recently. We will just enjoy watching his skills and goals for the rest of the season and beyond. We'll done Rubin :)

Lovely day out in the sun down in Devon and the boys responded in style, if we play like that every game we won't lose many, also osho,s best game for us today he looked like the center half we all thought he would be, lots of happy faces on the coach home on to Tuesday we go

I’ve been very critical of Rubin, but I love being proved wrong and he was very good today! I would love to see him do it against the better team as well

I know and they blame him if we lose

He has real skill

In my opinion I think we have still to see the best of Rubin Colwill.
I think it's disrespectful to suggest he can only be a good player against lower half league one teams.
He has plenty of time to improve as a team player.
Of course, other than his unfortunate injury, he has had an excellent influential season for many of the matches he has been involved in.
I see no reason why he shouldn't prove himself as a very good Championship player next srason, in what I hope would be a much stronger and faster Bluebirds team than we had in recent seasons.
It's never easy for anyone playing in a struggling team, as in recent years, but hopefully under BBM we can make an impression at a higher level.
I look forward to Rubin being central to that.

I agree still more to come from Rubin

And I believe if BBM is here next season, Rubin will get even better.

Totally agree, same old characters love to have a go at Rubin.
Nice to see Worcester warming to him following recent performances though.

Kellyman scored both our goals at Plymouth and was a handful all game.

You may be right but I can’t see it. He’s hardly a kid he’s played 161 times mostly in the championship. Doesn’t even get in the Welsh squad with out injuries to other players. As someone posted the other day showing our poor our results are against the top 6. These are the teams you expect our talisman and captain to step up and lead our team to victory.
No one’s come in with any worth while bids for him.

Maybe he is a late developer. Hope he proves me wrong but my head just doesn’t see it as much as my heart does.

We all hope he proves you wrong for the sake of our football club.
But in all honesty I feel he has proved himself as a top player for us this season and like one or two others today, I think he could have the ability to continue at this level into the Championship under this manager who appears also to believe in him.
