Yes another Win at home keeps Cardiff Top of the Table:
BUT just look at the Chances we are not putting away every game, WHY?
Yes of course I am happy with 3 points , but just look at the total stats unbelievable
I was not able to watch today
But goals can be crucial come May.
Plus 1-0 means it goes all the way and sometimes endings are not great, thankfully we have the 3pts We Deserve
Before today: Wigan had won 2 of their last 12 away league games.
Cardiff City had won their last 7 home league games.
CARDIFF CITY 1 WIGAN ATHLETIC 0
H-T 1-0

It's all about winning games and that's nine wins in a row at home in the league.
Could have scored more but Wigan's keeper made some great saves and Salech should have got at least one.
Performance good too which bodes well.
Sun Jan 04, 2026 4:57 pm
Their keeper had a great game to be fair, but yeah we need to put games to bed
BBM has really got this squad working. We have a plan , style and purpose at the moment
Cian Ashford worked his socks off. Bagan too

I’ve seen more spring in a busted mattress than Salech .He cannot time his jump at all definitely need a back up in the transfer window .In his defence our crossing is so poor wish we had a Conway /Noone or Burke type winger

100% Winning games is the main priority, but just look at our possession and chances

Today was a real eye opener for me. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team so afraid of us in all the years I’ve supported Cardiff. They didn’t come out of a back 5 all game. I have literally never seen us keep the ball for the entirety of stoppage time without the opposition touching it. Salech misses quite a few chances to be fair but if he didn’t he’d be in the championship at least by now. We should have had an extra goal or two but this was the equivalent of a boxer securing an easy points victory keeping the opponent at bay with a jab. The other boxer always has a punchers chance of knocking you down but it’s incredibly unlikely. Would love a knock out but that was as comfortable an afternoon as I’ve had as a fan. It reminded me of some of the Man City home wins. A bit boring but incredibly comfortable. I think if Wigan had come out and tried to attack us we’d have picked them off.

Great win but 1-0 is never a safe scoreline no matter how much you dominate a game, dont understand why we were so reluctant to actually run at them

We don't shoot enough and when we decide to shoot it is too late. Robertson always wants to tee it up. As soon as the opportunity comes shoot don't think about it.

But that’s why he’s not £10mill and playing in this league and No offers came in for him.
But still his goals have been vital this season.

Probably the worst team we have played this season, offered absolutely nothing

Wow Wigan were that bad and frustrating.
But a Win is win, just get worried teams might get back in the games

What chances? They played 11 men behind the ball hoping for a draw. There's no space to exploit, this is what happens when opposition teams come here and set up like this.

Can't fault what BBM have done to this club, only thing that concerns me are the amount of position and chances/shots on goal we have, we are running to close to the wire with the opposition coming back and scrapping a result, overall can't fault this team, keep it going Cardiff.

After the last few seasons I just find it hard to complain about a win.

Their keeper was excellent to be fair

That was a frustrating watch to be honest.Wigan offered nothing at all and we just pass it about slowly.A win is win and don’t get me wrong a solid result but we should have buried.
Great strike from Chambers

Most one-sided 1 nil I think Ive ever seen. On another day would be 3 or 4 nil win, but always that risk of the opposition nicking a goal, we have to.put these games away early.
One worrying stat for me would be, we had 38 crosses today but the quality in my opinion was really poor. Is it the delivery that is so poor or is Salacks position, desire to get on the end of them the issue ?

They came to park the bus and frustrate, they had no attention to try and win the game, this was a carbon copy of the Burton game but this game we won which shows we've learnt from then, on another day we score 5 or more, have a look at the stat I posted below that just shows how dominant we were

As dominant a performance you'll see all season and even though it was only 1 nil, I never got the squeaky bum like I usually do. The 3 points were never in doubt
Would love to be scoring more goals though. Even if just to better reflect the games and performances more than anything else. 1 nil does BBM and the players an injustice.
The stats today are crazy, based on possession, crosses and look at the corner count!!!

Wigan seemed happy to lose 1-0, never any urgency to press us. We created plenty of chances, their keeper was man of the match for both teams.
I thought with 10 mins left they would've tried to press us more and go forward but nothing from them at app, id be livid if I was a wigan fan traveling this distance for that performance.

Callum chambers completed more passes than Wigan lol

Chambers goal worthy of winning any game. But my it should have been one of many.
81% possession and six times as many efforts as the visitors.
It’s three points though and another home win. Eight on the bounce now.
Next two games away.
